IIMORI

I walked by this place and I saw that they had macarons so I HAD to come in (since I LOVE LOVE LOVE macarons and have to try them everywhere I go). Turns out, I ended up getting their green tea torte since they didn’t have any macaron flavors that I liked. The trip and the torte were TOTALLY worth it. I absolutely loved the torte. The green tea flavor really came out, and it didn’t have too much crust that it overpowered the rest of the cake. There’s also a layer of red beans between the crust and the green tea mousse part, and it really added to the flavor. TLDR: get the green tea torte

I’ve been to Frankfurt twice and each time I made a point to come for the green tea torte. OMG AMAZING. Save your stomach and get two! You will not regret it!

Authentisches Restaurant/​Café mit japanischen Flair, gutem Essen und Getränken. Service sehr flott und aufmerksam. Leider sehr voll, vor allem am Wochenende.

Seit längerem mal wieder in einem meiner Lieblingsrestaurants gewesen. Seitdem hat sich offensichtlich zum Thema Vegan sehr viel getan. Ich habe ein Veganmenü für 32 € gegessen, was den Preis wirklich wert war. Es sieht auf den ersten Blick alles sehr wenig aus, aber man bemerkt sehr schnell, dass es doch sehr viel ist. Das einzige, was zu bemängeln ist und das hat sich leider seitdem ich das Restaurant vor 3 Jahren kennen und lieben gelernt habe nicht geändert. Ist die unkoordiniertheit des Personals. Die Bedienungen sind oft sehr unfreundlich und wirken nur aufgesetzt freundlich. Ich schätze allerdings die großartige Küche und wer authenntisch japanisches Essen sucht, ist hier genau richtig und hier werden auch definitv veganer glücklich!

Teuer und unfreundlich. Fazit: Völlig überflüssig.

Ein sehr süßes japanisches Café/​Patisserie in der Nähe des Römerbergs in Frankfurt. Es ist im Stil einer Bibliothek eingerichtet mit kleinen und relativ engen Sitzmöglichkeiten. Die Auswahl reicht von typisch Deutsch (Apfelkuchen) bis klassisch japanisch mit Matcha und grünem Tee. Sehr zu empfehlen ist dabei der Matcha Latte sowie der Green Opera, ein Küchlein mit Matcha. Schmeckt einfach herrlich. Es ist meist, vor allem am Wochenende, total überfüllt und man muss Glück haben einen Sitzplatz zu erhalten. Man bestellt selbst an der Theke und entweder die Bestellung wird gebracht oder man nimmt es gleich selbst mit. Alles in allem immer wieder ein Genuss.

Bisher war ich hier immer nur für Matcha Latte und Törtchen, die wirklich ausgezeichnet sind.
Es gibt ausgefallene japanische Süßspeisen wie Grüntee-​Kuchen, petit fours und vieles mehr. Man möchte am liebsten alles probieren weil es schon so schön aussieht. Genauso gut schmecken die Köstlichkeiten auch. Besonders gefallen mir die ausgefallenen Getränke wie rote-​Bohnen-​Latte und Grüntee-​Latte.
Auch die Einrichtung ist ziemlich einzigartig und erinnert an ein kleines Wohnzimmer. Man kann gemütlich auf Couchen/​Sesseln oder an kleinen Tischen sitzen.

Sehr schönes Japanisches Café, welches sowohl Sachen zum mitnehmen als zum dort essen anbietet. Die kleinen Küchlein und Brote sind exotisch und lecker und meinen Chai Latte konnte ich mir selbst zusammen mischen und nach meinen Belieben süßen. Man sitzt gemütlich und lässt gerne einige zeit dort vergehen. Es wird auch ein Frühstücksbüffet angeboten, was ich selbst noch nicht probiert haben, aber sowohl für den deftigen als auch den süßen Geschmack etwas zu bieten hatte.

Japanische Patisserien gibt es nun nicht an jeder Ecke. Zum Glück, sonst hätte ich kein Geld mehr um was anständige zu Essen. Denn die tollen Dinge hier sind schon unanständig teuer. € 4,40 für ein Törtchen. Dafür bekomme ich woanders eineinhalb Stück Torte.
Aber hier geht es nicht um den Grundbedarf sondern um die «Grundsicherung» an Luxus. :-)
Mein Himbeertörtchen war toll. Der Cappu auch. Das Ambiente ist absolut unjapanisch und geht eher in Richtung Jahrhundertwende. Es gibt auch einige Kreationen mit Matcha.

A lovely Japanese-​French café/​restaurant (restaurant at level 1). With vintage and colorful interior design, the ambient is relaxing and comfortable. The service team is also friendly. There are a variety of Japanese-​Western pastries, which are delicate and tasty. I also love the various choice of Asian drinks that is served in the café, although the coffee in the menu only tastes normal.
The foods from the menu/​buffet in the restaurant part taste alright, but are more pricey than I would expect.

Interessanter Laden — asiatische Patisserie in einem Antiquitätenladen.
Die süßen Backteilchen waren eine Reise nach Asien, Grüntee-​Kuchen oder süße Kringel mit Rote-​Bohnen-​Paste Füllung. War zwei Jahre in China und so war das Backgut auch in Asien erhältlich; quasi, was sich Asiaten unter europäischer Backkunst vorstellen.
Milchkaffee war gut (zu viel Schaum), Espresso war eher naja. Japaner sind ja auch nicht für ihren Kaffee bekannt.
Schade, dass kein japanischer Drip-​Coffee angeboten wurde.
Tee gabs für 3,80 Euro — geht gar nicht.
Fazit: Mal einen Besuch wert, aber Laden ist ziemlich gut besucht und teuer.

Super lecker! Einer meiner Lieblingsplätze in Frankfurt.
Auch sich für ein Geburtstag oder ein Fest eine Torte zubestellen kann ich empfehlen.
Wer japanisches Essen mag kann auch in den 1. Stock dort gibt es ein kleines Restaurant.
Die bentos dort schmecken ausgezeichnet.

Unglaublich gut!!! Alles ist stimmig, das Angebot, Atsmosphäre, Geschmack! Vor allem die Grüntee Spezialitäten sind einmalig, ich kann nirgendwo anders so gute Sachen finden. Man denkt die Portionen sind klein im Vergleich zu anderen Kuchen, aber der Geschmack ist am Ende alles woran man denkt! Super, immer wieder gerne!

Schönes kleines uriges Cafè mit Wohnzimmerfeeling…
etwas kitschig und altbacken, fühlt man sich wie bei Oma daheim!
Man bekommt auch Kusmitee in Dosen und diverse Kleinigkeiten.
Jedoch stoßen mir hier die Preise bitter auf.
Kuchen um die 4 € aufwärts und dabei handelt es sich lediglich um Stück“CHEN”!
Ein Mangolassi 4,90 €, Cappuccino 3,30 €, Tee geht auch an die 5 €
Ein schöner Ort, jedoch eher für «besondere» Anlässe, für den «Alltagscafè» finde ich es einfach zu teuer!

Like others said, desserts are very good.
I had brunch here and having two plates of bite-​size (petit) desserts was worth the whole price tag for brunch.
Maki rolls were very tasty. There are other Japanese food items but I suggest that you just have sushi/​rolls and all the desserts. Not the best brunch in town but good enough.
Cute place.

Ausgezeichnet köstliche Leckereien, die dem Zahnarzt wahre Freude machen. Der Laden hat ein tolles Flair. Er wird zwar von Japanern betrieben, das Ambiente deutet darauf allerdings kaum hin. Es ist liebevoll Ei gerichtet und sehr schön dekoriert. Im Sommer gibt es wenige Sitzplätze direkt an der Braubachstraße. Preislich eher überdurchschnittlich, was aber sicherlich der touristischen Lage geschuldet ist.

Ausgesprochen leckeres Brunch Buffet. Top Sushi, nicht vergleichbar mit anderen Buffets. Japanische Hausmannnskost, wie Kohlomelett, findet man sonst nie ausser in der Familie.
Patisserie Produkte incl. des Brotes sind auch outstanding.

Well I’m in love. Combine a charming café space with delicious coffee and eyewateringly beautiful desserts and you have IIMORI. This is a fascinating place that combines the all charm of a Parisian bakery with a hint of Japanese flair. We stopped by for a coffee and light dessert, and we were not disappointed. Everything was a feast for the eyes, from the décor to the bakery case to the beautifully served coffee. I really want to go back some day for lunch and basically to eat my way through the dessert selection. If a patisserie heaven exists in the universe, there are just a few portals to it – IIMORI is one of them (Amelie’s Wohnzimmer and the Queen of Tarts are the others).

Sympatisches kleines mit Omas Plüschmöbeln eingerichtetes Café. Das Personal ist komplett aus Japan und trägt Dirndl (immer?). Die Kuchen und Torten haben Puppenformat und sind sehr lecker. Hier gibt es nicht gewöhnliches und selbst eine Schwarzwälder Kirsch Torte bekommt etwas besonderes.

Der Kuchen in der Partisseri ist wirklich gut.
Samstag und Sonntag gibt es Sushi-​French-​Brunch in einer Altbauwohnung über der Partisseri. Gemütliche Atmosphäre im Party-​Catering-​Stil. Entspannend.

Dieser Laden ist einfach so was von SÜSS!!! Ich bin so verliebt in die kitschigen Tapeten, die Outfits der Service-​Damen und dem Wohnzimmer-​Feeling. Diese Ambiente kommt wohl sehr gut an im Publikum, denn in der letzten Zeit gibt es ja mehr mehr Läden im ‘Omis Wohnzimmer Look’.
Unten kann man auf gemütlichen Sesseln sich entspannen, einen Kaffe oder Tee trinken und sich was süßes gönnen. Die Törtchen und Petit Fours im IImori sind was ganz besonderes, denn nicht nur sehen sie optisch hervorragend aus, sondern schmecken auch köstlich. Gestern gab es wieder hinter der Vitrine Cupcakes mit Bären als Deko, Grüntee Törtchen und Macarons, Schoko Tart und Tarte du Citron! Hmm… schleck!
Was manchen Leuten anscheinend noch nicht so bewusst ist: im oberen Stockwerk kann man auch was essen. Und zwar gibt es eine Mittagskarte auch mit Menü, wozu die Sushi frisch vor den Augen in der offenen Küche vorbereitet werden. Ich habe mich für das Menü entschieden mit einer Veggie Suppe vorab, Salat, einem Sushi mix, Grüntee dazu und als Dessert zwei kleine Stückchen von Törtchen. Alles für einen sehr guten Preis von 15,50 € ! Von oben hat man auch die Chance auf die Schirn zu schauen und im Moment leider auf die Baustelle. Sobald die Häuser gegenüber jedoch fertig gebaut sind, wird der Ausblick sich auch verschönern.
Dieses Café ist einfach schnuckelig und liebevoll eingerichtet!

Einige Male war ich nun schon im IImori, meist am Wochenende gegen frühen Nachmittag, auf einen Kaffee und ein gutes Stück Kuchen/​Torte/​Croissant/​was Herzhaftes. Die Rückmeldung aller Frauen, mit denen ich da war: begeistert bis euphorisch. Der einzige Mann, der in einer Frauengruppe einmal dabei war: «naja, Frauenladen halt» (was er meint: für seinen Geschmack zu viel «Dekokram»).
Egal was wir bisher probiert haben, geschmacklich war alles super lecker und die Damen hinter der Theke immer sehr freundlich. Die Tische stehen recht nah beisammen und es ist oft voll, daher der Weg mit der Bestellung von der Theke zum eigenen Tisch manchmal etwas umständlich. Das jedoch bei wirklich superleckeren Kuchen, belegten Sandwiches etc. kein Grund, nicht hinzugehen.

It’s a cute place, but food is mediocre and services SUPER slow. Tried all their green tea cakes and their petit four, just ok. Took also something from their menu: Udon soup and sashimi. They used the cheapest udon that you could buy in the supermarkets and sashimi was still a bit frozen. Would not recommend to eat Japanese food here, because there are better places close by for Japanese food, like Iwase. It’s an ok place to have tea/​coffee. Will I come back? Not really, there are better places for cakes.

Maki-​Sushi Rollen!
Ich kenne IIMORI bereits vom ersten Tag an Frankfurt und dachte immer das ist eine kleine Patisserie mit Köstlichkeiten, netten Servicepersonal und einer mal anderen Atmosphäre als man es damals in Frankfurt hatte. Auf der Suche nach en Sushi Kochkurs zum Verschenken bin ich auf IIMORI gestoßen und habe mich Ihnen lange zu zögern dazu angemeldet und muss sagen es war eine sehr gute Entscheidung.
Wir würden sehr freundlich begrüßt, Tische waren für die Teilnehmer eingedeckt inkl. Eine Flasche Wasser und alles was zum Sushi Essen benötigt wird. Azko Limori ein sehr freundliche Japanarin und Eigentümern des IIMORI Haus hat den Kurs selber begleitet. Es gab die wichtigsten Hinweise zu den Zutaten die man benötigt, es gab immer wieder was zu Probieren bis man selber nach der Erklärung wie man am besten die Maki Sushi rollt selber sein Sushi vorbeiztet hat. War sehr witzig und sie war bei Bei Fragen geduldig zur Stelle. Man hat auch Sushi vom Profi bekommen und auch der Nachtisch war klasse né sehr lecker aus der Hauseignen Patisserie.
Im Preis vom Kochkurs waren alle Getränke inkl. sowie alles was zum Sushi dazu gehört hat und das ohne Einschränkung. Ich würde dieses Event jederzeit weiter empfehlen.

I simply love Iimori. Every time I visit Frankfurt that’s a sure stop during my free time. All pastry options are exquisite and very true to the authentic Japanese version (maybe a tad more sweet).
Iimori is also a terrific place to have lunch, with a variety of options from classical okonomyaki (a type of Japanese pancake with seafood) and donburi to traditional sushi. The place is very cozy, and service is also great.
Probably the only drawbacks are price (just a bit too expensive) and the sheer amount of people that visit the place, so sometimes it might be difficult to find a free table to sit down and enjoy your treats.

I had a macha green tea and raspberry (Himbeere) macaron (1.90 €) and a slice of a very rich chocolate cake (~4.70 € cannot remember the actual name or price). I was very much surprised at how good it all tasted. I am currently living in Germany and it is hard to come by a sweet that is… well very sweet. Most sweets here are mild in sweetness, but IIMORI did the trick. The only downside is that it is a little heavy in price for my student wallet, but it was worth it.
The atmosphere is pretty cozy and while I visited it was very busy. Ordering was a little chaotic because people crowded in front of the pastries and clogged the front door. Also the rules of making a line here are not very solid so you might have to put yourself out there.

Sehr gemütlich und außergewöhnliche Einrichtung. Ich hatte die grüné Teetorte probiert und war sehr lecker. So was hat man nicht überall und ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert, wenn man in Frankfurt am Main ist.
Beim betreten der Lokalität gibt es eine Auswahltheke, ähnlich wie bei einem Bäcker, dort an der Reihe, wählt man seine Köstlichkeit aus und Getränk, bezahlt gleich und die Bestellung wird dann zum Platz gebracht.
Für mich war dieser Besuch was besonderes und falls ich wieder die Gelegenheit hätte, wiederhole ich diesen Besuch.

delicious pastry maker, a bit pricey

My wife and I have dined at Iimori restaurant a handful of times in total. The restaurant is located just upstairs from the bustling Iimori patisserie.
Being from New York, which I consider to be quite rich in Sushi cuisine, I was at first skeptical about eating sushi in a patisserie. However, the dining area upstairs is an entirely different establishment. The décor and the ambiance gives off a homey and welcoming vibe. Seeing only a group of older Japanese ladies dining gave us the impression that we had stumbled upon an a little known gem in the heart of Frankfurt.
We each ordered the Sushi Bento, which come for about 11Euros a piece. We waited. And waited. And waited. It confounded us to how the kitchen would find itself backed up, what with very few other diners in the restaurant. After 1 hour, and many «What is going on here?» and «Did that table get its food before us?» exchanges between my wife and I, our food finally arrived. The saving grace for Iimori is that the food was decent and very reasonably priced.
We visited the next day as well, because my wife really loves sushi and this place was cheap enough. I only hoped that the wait from the day before was only a fluke. It wasn’t. Another 1 hour wait for our food ensued. As we waited, we noticed that everyone else was enjoying the all-​you-​can-​eat brunch buffet. On this occasion, the servers were very busy replenishing the sushi and tempura platters (which looked very appetizing). We realized, this was the probably the proper way to dine at Iimori.
The next few times we visited, we reserved our spot for the all-​you-​can-​eat brunch. It costs about 19−20Euros per person, but one can sample a fairly nice selection of sushi, (including an interesting seared salmon with skin on), and of course some small samples of cakes and macaroons from downstairs. Green tea cakes are nice, but the macaroons are usually stale. Unfortunately, drinks are not included and are actually quite expensive. About 3.80 Euro for a cup of green tea.
On the last (and definitely final) visit, we arrived on time and the buffet had not even been prepared yet. My wife remarked that the manager was not around this time, which could explain the lazy start by the staff.
One business practice that we noticed was that each piece of sushi comes with about 100grams of rice. After 5 sushi, one has already consumed a pound of rice. Seems like an easy way for them to save on fish, just fill the customer up with rice instead. Obviously we did not come there just to eat rice, so we started removing the excess.
Apparently, that was a mistake. After we finished and asked for the check, the waitress returned from the kitchen with our discarded plates and told us that it was restaurant policy that we cannot leave the rice. One of the cooks popped out of the kitchen just to stare daggers at us as she informed us of this unwritten policy. Clearly they were miffed not that we did not finish the rice, but that we ate too much sushi.
It is all you can eat and I do not want to consume inordinately large quantities of rice. Moreover, a customer is entitled to eat as much fish as they please. If I am leaving rice in my plate am I being wasteful? Or is it that they are wasteful by using too much rice?
Advice to the management: Do not bother or intimidate a paying customer.

Als ich diese Patisserie gesehen habe, habe ich gedacht, ich kaufe mir sofort ein Campingzelt und bleibe ich für immer hier.
Lustige Kombination aus französische Patisserie und Japanischer Konditorei, Iimori bietet ungewöhnliche Kuchen und Dessert (zbs Grüntee-​Mascarpone Tartelettes) aber auch leckeres deutsche Brot.
Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm und originell eingerichtet.
Am Ende habe ich mich gegen Campingzelt entschieden, dafür habe ich aber den Laden geleert.

This Place is magical and to die for… I love everything! unfortunately they only take german card no american card. and prior to stopping here i was at Bitter & Zart. a chocolaterie that left me penniless for Iimori!

Very nice employees. Help you with every special orders. Typical Japanese service. The tea, coffee and cakes are exquisite. It is also quite comfortable to sit and talk with friends. The café has it own Japanese French style.

Oh goodness… did I get myself in a bind? I’m addicted to their green tea desserts. The green tea cake, tart, and cookies are divine. Fireworks of flavor with each bite. Don’t expect to find a seat immediately here without reservation, the place is guaranteed to be busy in the afternoon to evenings, at least on Saturday and Tuesday when I tried going there.

Small, cosy, french period-​styled (late 1920s??) café with japanese service. Very romantic, I found myself whispering in here so as not to disturb the hushed atmosphere. The counter is full of mumptious, bumptious scrumdidlyumtious cakes, bread and pastries. Quite the sort of place one could have taken miss poppins. I enjoyed it best on a quiet february afternoon on my own. You can park in the Parkhaus Römer across the street.
Perfect lazy winter afternoon. Start with a brisk stroll in the Museum of Modern Art to get your brain warmed up. Follow this with a quick visit to in Bitter and Zart (the chocolaterie around the corner) and fill a little bag of goodies for your loved one. Do a bit of window browsing in the art galleries in the neighbourhood. Then pop in to to Iimori for an engaged chat and some cake. The excitement of knowing that you have a bag of chocolate sin on your person will keep you in goosebumps until you get home.

Une pâtisserie à tomber en plein centre (à deux pas du Römer). Presque insoupçonnable, ce petit salon de thé propose des petits-​déj buffet très copieux pour 5 euros, une sélection de thés Kusmi et surtout, surtout, des pâtisseries à la française de très bonne qualité. La propriétaire a d’ailleurs appris à pâtisser à Paris et en a ramené les meilleures recettes de tartes, petits-​fours, cakes, macarons, financiers… Goûter également les gâteaux au thé vert, une curiosité. Cette spécificité permet de pardonner le prix un peu élevé des produits. A voir absolument aussi pour sa déco cosy. Récemment la propriétaire a ouvert un restaurant au premier étage, prometteur (non encore testé).

Great high quality cakes and treats baked from scratch with way more flavour and yummyness than the usual Frankfurt baked goods only thing is the drinks are a little pricey — a cake and hot chocolate here can set you back more than a meal in Vapiano
