Best falafel in Prenzlauer Berg.

Der vegetarische gemischte Teller war unglaublich lecker, und das zu einem super guten Preis. Wenn man dort isst, sollte man beachten, dass es keine Toiletten gibt, und es etwas kühl ist (dafür kann man sich in eine Decke einwickeln).

Tasty food, nice service, huge portions, but prices may be a bit higher than other Middle Eastern restaurants.
Try the ‘Zweistrom Teller’ too, you won’t regret it ;)

Sehr gutes shawarma. Zum fünften Stern hat noch ein bisschen was gefehlt aber im Prenzlauer Berg fast unschlagbar.

Sehr leckerer Schawarma-​Teller für 6 Euro. Bedienung schnell und freundlich. Empfehlenswert!

On the happening street of kollwitzstrasse, always abuzz with the locals this place has the best tellers around. The sauces are really tasty and made to perfection.

What a homey spot. Our first night in Berlin, we were feeling something simple and delicious, so we searched for falafel. This place was perfect. It was small but they were able to seat us quickly. And the vibe was cool. Friends getting together and people dropping in for takeout after work. The two guys running the place up front were really nice and helped us order despite a lack of german. The food was plentiful and cheap. Food, beer, tea for less than 20 euros. Go for it.

Die Jungs hinterm Tresen verstehen ihren Job, sind witzig, gut gelaunt und das auch noch nach 22.00 UHR.
Hatte das Shawarma das überdurchschnittlich gut ist hier, die Saucen sehr Gehaltvoll und Lecker abgeschmeckt. Das Fleisch perfekt geröstet, so wie ich´s mag. Hatte auch schön die Köfte im Brot und dieses war auch überaus Schmackhaft.
Werde mich hierhin gerne wieder herbegen und geb meine Empfehlung ab =)

Das Essen ist super, wenn man bei annehmbarem Wetter draußen sitzen kann sollte man das machen, innen sitzen «müssen» ist beengt u und es entgeht dir keine Teckenbestellung. Selfservice, einfach, die typische arabische «Hundeallergie» nervt, also cool ist anders. Aber es geht auch takeaway.

Super Essen und sehr freundliches Team. Wir sind Touristen in Berlin, 2 erw und 2 Kids. Klasse essen und trinken für 27 €. Besser geht nicht, verglichen mit dem üblichen Touristen-​Nepp! Wir kommen wieder!

Ich war sehr positiv überrascht, was man in diesem kleinen Restaurant/​Imbiss für 5 € auf seinen Teller serviert bekommt. Alles sehr lecker und frisch und dazu noch schön dekoriert!

Wow! Das war wirklich leckeres Schawarma! Ich hatte die Zweierkombi und hab mich für Makali dazu entschieden. Das Brot schmeckt super und das ganze war perfekt gewürzt u.a. mit Zimt und Knoblauch!
Der Laden ist kein Restaurant sondern eher ein Imbiss, also relativ klein und nur ein paar Sitzgelegenheiten. Damit am besten für Zwischendurch oder wie in meinem Fall zum Mitnehmen.
Preislich auch super. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

mein tip: Dreierkombi shawarma-​haloumi-​makali (Fleisch-​Käse-​Gemüse), kostet im Brot 4 Euro und ist genausoviel wie ein Teller für 7,50 Euro.
Und wem auch das noch zu teuer ist: superleckere selbst gemachte Kartoffelspalten (im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, mit den dünnen trockenen Pommes von McDonalds hat das GAR NIX zu tun) für 2 Euro.
Oder ein selbstgemixter Orangen-​Karotten-​saft für 2 Euro.
Also ich kann die Kritiker denen das hier zu teuer ist wirklich nicht verstehen?!

Always a long queue if you come for dinner. Inside seeking is limited to two tiny buy cosy tables. Falafel, halumi, shawarma combination plate is excellent. You get a serious portion with delicious sauces. Only the bred could sometimes be a little bit more
fresh.

Probably not the best place for Falafel, Humus and other middle eastern fast foods in Berlin, but one of the best.
Love the «3-​combo-​sandwich», where you can combine 3 types of main foods, for a fair 4 euros. (my favorite 3-​combo is: Falagel, Shawarma and Humus)
The portions are generous, so make sure you bring a decent piece of hunger when you step in.
Staff is friendly, and the location is not far away from the lively Kollwitzplatz or Helmholzplatz.

Hungrig, nach einem Marktbesuch am Donnerstag, fiel meine Aufmerksamkeit auf das «Zweistrom». Und ich kann nur sagen LECKER!!! Das beste Schawarma was ich bisher in Berlin gegessen habe, frisch, super gewürzt … einfach toll. Wie konnte ich diesen kleinen Imbiss nur so lange ignorieren! Ab jetzt werde ich auf jeden Fall öfter einmal hier vorbeischauen.

Love this place! There are many, many options when it comes to Mediterranean food in Berlin, especially in Prenzlauer Berg, but this is my favorite. Fresh, tasty, and even visually appealing, the platters are my favorites. I find myself coming back time and again.

Delicious, homemade everything. Next time I’ll get the meat combo, this time I had the veggie one (falafel, hallumi, hummus, fried veggies, baba, etc) — 7 Eur. Prices are great, falafel plate is 5 for example.

Top! Das fleisch ganz frisch und sehr lecker. Hier wird noch alles selbst in sehr guter Qualitaet zubereitet. Authentisch lecker und guenstig!

Unassuming exterior, with shockingly delicious food. We had the mixed vegetarian platter for two people (more like four). It had a huge variety of mostly familiar middle eastern/​mediterranean dishes — tabouli, falafel, hummus, baba ganouj something like spanakopita — along with less common things — kibbe = a fried ball stuffed with vegetables; whipped garlic (I think it’s often called «toum»), and a spicy/​sour/​cinnamony sauce that I will dream of for the next few weeks.
But the thing is: even the most familiar of the dishes was prepared in a novel, unfamiliar, wonderful way. It was like rediscovering baba ganouj, with surprising spices (maybe a hint of cardamom?), served on a succulent slice of roasted eggplant. The hummus was prepared with care, with plenty of tahini (which I adore). The toum was so wonderful — I wanted to have a tiny bit of it with each bite, I loved it so much. Especially with the crispy fried cauliflower. And the spicy sauce made even the lowly fried potato wedge strange and wonderful. Believe me: the flavor profiles of these foods will catch you off guard.
Also striking and glorious: how fresh the ingredients were. It was as if the parsley for the tabbouli were minced just a moment before serving, to keep it as fresh as possible. Not remotely wilted. The texture of the falafel — the perfect crispiness of the fried exterior — is, I think a big part of why it’s so highly spoken of.
Get the vegetarian platter for two. Don’t share it with someone who’ll steal all the toum.

Also Eines vorweg. Der Laden befindet sich im touristischen Einzugsgebiet und natürlich im typischen Prenzlauer Berg Kietz. Und genau da scheint das Problem. Geschmacklich ist überhaupt Nichts aus zu setzen, aaaber. bei den Portionen fühl eich mich einfach abgezockt. Der erste Gedanke ist günstig, das aber relativiert sich sofort wenn man erstmal den Teller vor sich hat. Hummus in einer homöopathischen Menge, Schawarma über 2 halbe Kartoffeln auf dem Teller so drapiert, dass es mehr aussieht. Sorry, in jeder anderen Ecke würde der Teller zurück gehen, egal wie gut es schmeckt. Hier wird künstlich gehyped obwohl es ein paar Strassen weiter reichlich bessere Angebote gibt, aber es ist halt touristisch gepimpter Kietz.
Für mich ein No GO !

Wirklich sehr lecker. Qualität der Speisen echt klasse. Falafel, Schawarma, Sossen, Kibbe, frisch zubereitet, lecker gewürzt, nicht zu viel und übermässig, alles prima. Leider fand ich den Service… sagen wir mal eher reserviert. Aber da ich takeaway machte, nicht wirklich störend und nur einen Stern Abzug. Alles in allem, immer wieder seit neulich da die Qualität des Essens überzeugt! :-)

Die Zweistrom-​Platte mit Hühnchen hatte reichlich leckere Geschmacksimpulse zu bieten. Im Gegensatz zum frittierten, mit Hackfleisch gefüllten, Kartoffelkloß waren mir die Fleischfinger zu belanglos. Ich bin satt geworden, das Essen war lecker und ich hatte keine Ausfallerscheinungen und kein drückendes Völlegefühl. Um 20 Uhr reichlich Betrieb in der kleinen Hütte. Werde ich bei Zeiten wieder vorbei schauen. 5 Sterne gibt es nur wenn mir das Essen ein zufriedends Grinsen ins Gesicht zaubert.

Falafel im Kollwitzkiez? Zweistrom! Und zwar ohne wenn und aber. Und nicht nur Falafel, auch Schwawarma, Hallumi und Hummus sind fein hier und es gibt auch abseits der drei überall erhältlichen Gerichte Dinge wie Kibbe (Reis-​Kartoffelbällchen mit Gemüse oder Hühnchen gefüllt).
Es ist ein Imbiss und als solcher sind die Sitzplätze im Inneren rar gesät und auch nicht sonderlich bequem. Im Sommer sitzt es sich draussen auf der Kollwitzstrasse gut, der Imbiss ist gerade weit genug von der Danziger Strasse weg, so dass man gerne auch ein wenig länger verweilt. Im Winter nehme ich meistens mein Portiönchen to go mit.
Die Soßen sind frisch, das Gemüse knackig und die frittierten Sachen bekommen frisches Fett ab. Sollte es dadurch zu Wartezeiten kommen, wird dies angekündigt. Überhaupt darf man Wartezeit mitbringen, zumindest, wenn man zur Rush Hour kommt. Abends um 22 Uhr geht es normalerweise aber fix. Für Süssschnäbel steht für danach auch eine kleine Auswahl an Baklava auf dem Thresen bereit, das ist auch ok, aber nicht herausragend.

Delicious melt-​in-​your mouth Falafels and schwarma. Please do not miss your chance to try these delicious dishes. We ordered the Falafelteller and Schwarma im Brot (akin to a kebab/​durum). The Falafelteller was so beautiful to look at; it came with a variety of sauces (one which I suspect was humus, yogurty sauce and a spicy sauce (my favourite)), tabouleh, chilli pepper, salad and boom-​chicka-​wow-​wow crispy tasty Falafels. There was also a side serving of flat bread. Biting into one of the Falafels was heaven. Seriously, you have to try to it understand what I mean. The sauces were perfectly balanced. The schwarma was just as good. The meat was beautiful and tender and they added a little bit of fried potato so it felt like I was eating it with potato chips. Also, try the pfefferminze Tee. It comes with fresh mint leaves and this interesting looking thing that I think may be a preserved lemon? The tee was actually a bit sweet (i think the preserved lemon caused that) for me since I prefer pure pfefferminz. THE BEST PART IS THE PRICE– 3 € for the Schwarma im Brot and 5 € for the Falafelteller! Before I forget the place is quite small so you may struggle to get a seat. However, people are pretty courteous in that they don’t take too long to finish their meals so others can have a spot.

Falafel zum Mitnehmen war geschmacklich ok. Die Falafelbällchen waren sehr würzig, die Soßen aber etwas geschmacksneutral. Für meinen Geschmack hätte es auch etwas mehr Salat sein können, né Scheibe Gurke wäre erfrischend.
Bedienung war aber sehr freundlich. Ich probiere es demnächst nochmal.

Hands down best falafel in Berlin! Surprised to see it’s only got 3 stars. Get in there and try it people! They’ve lovely fresh juices and great baklava too. The staff are really nice and friendly. But, most importantly — the falafel is super yummy, as are the sauces, salads, hallumi…
Need I say more, miss this place dearly. Those of you lucky enough to live in Berlin, go try it!

Sind gestern Abend zufällig und hungrig mit ein paar Freunden im Zweistrom eingefallen.
Ich halte mich kurz:
Gegessen haben wir wirklich super angerichtete Falafel-​Shawarma-​Teller. Saucen = 1a.
Der Preis ist mit 6 EUR sehr gut finde ich. Auch wenn ich woanders größere Portionen bekomme, hat es hier einfach sehr gut geschmeckt.
Auch die Pistazienkugel als Dessert ist sehr gut.
Auch wenn es drin jetzt nicht den orientalischsten Flair hat, kommen wir des Geschmacks wegen wieder!
Nachtrag:
Die Deko und Fülle des Tellers ist zum Teil abhängig vom Personal. Der jüngere Mann macht das viel besser als der ältere Herr.

Excellent middle-​eastern fast food. The halloumi and falafel are good, as is the «Makali» option (mixed roasted vegetables).
This place beats the competition with its very fresh salads (always a good sign), tasty sauces and pleasant outdoor seating (there’s hardly any space indoors anyway).
You get plenty of salad, houmous and different middle-​eastern sauces plus bread when you order your meal on a plate rather than as a filled pita.
One slightly unusual item on the menu that many similar places don’t do is «kibbe». It’s a kind of fried rice ball stuffed either with vegetables or minced beef.

This is a great fast food place. Fresh, tidy and tasty. The Schwarma is my favourite in Prenzlauer Berg. The owner of the place usually stands behind the grill himself. The sauces they add to the schwarma is mango (! how cool is that?), Garlic or herb sauce.
The secret behind the great Schwarma — is fresh mint leaves.
Try the Schwarma with Haloumi.
There is enough space for 6 people to sit down and eat in winter — in summer they have some seats outside as well.
Free tea — perfect to get into the Mid-​Eastern mood whilst waiting.
