It started raining on our way to the open market so we came in here. They were first curt with the typical German hurry up attitude. People were hanging out under their umbrellas and I think the owner was a bit irritated by this. He first asked us if we were going to order or just take up space. It was very cold and they had Irish Coffees on the menu so we decided to spend a little time with them. The waitress eventually was joking with us and had a funny sense of humor.(I was told that wouldn’t happen here, lol.) It ended up being a good experience and the rain stopped too, a double blessing.

If I had a choice to put 0 stars for this place, I would for the following reasons: 1) asked for hot water, charged for tea, was provided no tea bag, and was told after the fact that water is not free… 2) rushed to order even though the restaurant was half full. 3) chef salad is below average

Came here for the Currywurst, and found it average. So three stars for the food. Now I have to share this story. I was charged 4,80 € for ordering two hot waters and was only told after the fact that when you order hot water it counts as tea(but wasn’t offered any tea bags). Being charged for plain hot tap water… One star for service!!!

We couldn’t find a spot in the nearby restaurants because they were reserved so we ended up here. We tried the currywurst and it was ok, but probably the worst one we tried during our stay in berlin. Very casual place, and very average in my opinion.

I came to Berlin with certain expectations about service in restaurants: that waiters will sometimes ignore me, that I will get somewhat neglectful service. Nothing prepared me for what I got in Jedermann’s. I asked for tap water while I consider my drink options. the waitress, instead of giving me a couple of minutes to decide while sending an order for the courses, sat down next to me, making impatient gestures and pressured me into ordering a drink. She said they don’t serve tap water at all, which is also incredible to me. A while after we got our courses(Which were delicious, by the way), the waitress approached us to ask if we are enjoying our food. As we confirmed that, she put her hand on his belly and patted it. I did NOT expect this kind of disregard for personal space in Germany, or really, in any place outside close friends and family. I’m giving this place 3 stars because the food was real good and service depends on the individual waiter. If we had gotten acceptable service this place would have easily gotten 5 stars.

Got into by train Berlin after an early early flight and had to wait for my hotel room at the nearby Westin. Rather than pay exorbitant prices for a kinda weird food selection in the lobby lounge, I used trusty Unilocal to find Jedermann. After two days of artery-hardening food in Paris, I opted for a healthy-sounding dish, even though I love love love heavy German food. The spinach quiche was fair, packed with spinach(frozen I believe) and«cottage cheese,» which really seemed like little cubes of paneer. It was accompanied by a basic yet very fresh salad comprised of red leaf lettuce, cucumbers, tomato wedges and a balsamic vinaigrette. Quiet yet kind service. I’m coming back for dinner — gotta try some of that heavy German food I love.

Reasonable breakfast menu. Staff are friendly and they make a really good cappucino. Breakfast of museli, fried eggs(3 eggs) and bacon and bread basket and simple side salad with coffee was quite reasonably priced. Located near many of the hotels in Mitte, a short walk worth taking to this café.

Stopped here after a day at the Pergamon museum and the Berlin Dome. Had an excellent dark dunkel beer, wiener schnitzel(pork not veal), salad, and fried potatoes to die for, fried with onions and thick bacon. Good service, and they took credit cards. I enjoyed it.

Pluses: Exceptionally good scrambled eggs. Soft and fresh baguette on the table. Outdoor seating and friendly service. Accepted credit cards(rare in Berlin) Minuses: My cappuccino was ok but honestly, the best coffee I’ve had in Berlin so far has been at the Starbucks. The muslei and fruit was terrible.

When is a chicken sandwich breakfast at 5pm? When you’ve just spent the day traveling from San Francisco, attempted to go out a few hours after arriving, ending the night with an epic red white fail, and waking up after some proper sleep famished. Was very happy«no mayo» works in both English and German. Or at least it does here. Great sandwich.
