Falafel Ufo

Yeahhhhhh whats to say about that.
Staff was nice. As soon as me and my canadian friend entered the Falafel Ufo and were speaking in english and as soon as he heard us speaking the guy was taking our order in english as well. I know thats not really anything special for Berlin, but still.
Food was good. Had better, had worse.

leckeres schawarma und auch in der box. fand das fleisch wirklich super und auf wunsch gibts auch nachschlag an hummos oder soßen. sehr nett und lecker :)

Ein paar Straßen weiter kostet ein Halloumi deutlich weniger. Und schmeckt auch besser. Wirklich lieblos der Laden, der offenbar nur auf die Touristen spekuliert. Ich gehe da nicht mehr hin.

We come here a lot after shows when we’ve unloaded all the gear. The guys who work here are always nice, they keep the cooking space immaculate, and they will specialize our order with no problem. What’s more to ask from take away?

Nachdem ich in letzter Zeit voll auf Falafel abfahre, habe ich natürlich im Prenzlberg so einige getestet. Die Auswahl ist schließlich riesig. Und tataaaaa — hier ist meine echte No. 1!!! Beim Falafel Ufo passt alles. Preis. Service. Geschwindigkeit… und — klar Falafel mit Halumi Käse — hmmmmmmm lecker!

5 Sterne für Halloumi-​Schawarma im Brot! Ich war nur zweimal dort, aber beide Male war es ausgezeichnet.

Geschmacklich das Gegenteil von Gut!
Bei Dönerläden leider nichts ungewöhnliches in Berlin, nutzt dieser Falafelladen (als einziger unter den Falafelläden) eine Mayonaissensauce als Kräuter/​Joghurt/​Tahinsauce. Schmeckt einfach widerlich und musste leider in den Müll. Personal eher unfreundlicher Art und der Meinung, die Sauce wäre ohne Mayonaisse. Naja, solange Touristen Geld in diesen Laden tragen und Habba Habba (
) gleich nebenan ist, sind ja alle glücklich ;)

Falafel/​Halloumi mit Mangosoße schmeckt eigentlich immer ganz lecker. Für 3,30EUR stimmt das Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis leider nicht.
Bedienung ist jedoch immer freundlich.

Is there such a thing as being «falafeled out?» The answer is yes.
I was falafeled out a few weeks ago when I found myself standing in front of Falafel UFO with a couple of friends. But I was also hungry, and didn’t want to fork over mad dough for a meal. Plus, there was inside seating, and I was cold, and all I really wanted was to sit down and rest my feet.
So in order to mix things up a bit, I ventured into «Falafel Box» territory. And, well, it wasn’t so bad. The salad was not terribly exciting, but it was fresh enough. There was plenty of falafel and no bread, so it was warm but not overly filling. And I ordered fries, which complimented the falafel nicely. By that, I mean I shoved fries down in the falafel box and ate them all together. Pretty good.
A few complaints: first, that my fries weren’t crispy. They weren’t soggy, but they were still to soft. Frying them for longer might have remedied this. Also, I asked for no yoghurt sauce, instead requesting hot sauce. The guy even confirmed this for me, but was too busy having a conversation with someone that he must have forgotten, because I got yoghurt sauce in my box. But rather than complain and wait for an entirely new meal, this vegan ate her falafel box begrudgingly. Well, only somewhat begrudgingly.
For its purpose, Falafel UFO gets the job done.

ich habe aber bessere Erfahrungen in d. laden gemacht. Falafel schmeckt gut. vielleich schawarma nicht so besonderes.

Haben dort heute eine Falafel und ein Schwarma gegessen. Beides schmeckte nach rohem Teig. Weder die Falafelbällchen noch das Hähnchenfleisch hatten nennenswerten Eigengeschmack (durch den Teig eher wie Oblaten) und wurden nicht einmal nachgewürzt. Würden wir nicht weiterempfehlen.

Habe hier leider auch keine gute erfahrung gemacht. Total fettig und der salat sah schon ein wenig ranzig aus. Um eine erfahrung reicher

It was about a year ago that I was lucky enough to find this place. I was craving a falafel one night for dinner and a guy at my hostel (about four tram stops down the road) suggested I hit this place up. He raved about the Halumi Falafel so that’s what my cousin and I got. The following day we left for Stockholm, returned to berlin 5 days later for less than 24 hours until we left again (for good) for London and we made a point to go back for another Halumi Falafel.
It has been a year, and I still have dreams about that falafel sandwich. I have been searching NYC since then for anything similar and have failed to find one :-(. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend it (they dont speak english though so be ready to order in german)

die Bedienung it sehr freundlich und es macht alles einen sehr sauberen Eindruck, nur leider scheitert es am Essen. Die wirklich merkwuerdig schmeckende Knoblauchsosse, die eher nach ner Mischung aus Mayonnaise und Kraetuerdressing von Lidl als an Knoblauch erinnert, hat mir leider das gesammte Essen verdorben.

Das Schawarma, das ich hier neulich für 3EUR aß, war leider nicht besonders gut: knorpeliges Hünchenfleisch und statt gebratener Kartoffeln ekelhafte, mit Frittenfett hart gebackene Pommes mit in der Teigtasche. Bedienung war in Ordnung, aber bei einem Imbiss zählt nunmal v.A. das Essen.
Meine Alternativempfehlung: Daye Falafel auf der Danziger Str.

Falafel UFO is good in a pinch. Know what I mean? It’s not my first Street-​Food-​ish choice in my neighborhood, but it is dependable (sometimes), delicious (fairly), and open (seemingly always). These are the scenarios in which getting a falafel (good!), halumi (better!), schawarma (worse!), or pommes (sogggggggy!) from Falafel UFO is perfectly acceptable:
–When you’ve been out farrrr too long on a Saturday night and your nightcap may only be had in the form of fried cheese – mmmmmm!
–When you look at your bank account, and realize you only have $ 5 left. «How many Euros is that?!?» you ask yourself while frantically trying to find a conversion chart
–When it’s Sunday and the entire city shuts down, including your neighborhood grocery store
–When Konnopke’s is closed.
And there you have it. Although my reasons for eating at Falafel UFO may not always come from the purest of motivations, I am sure as hell glad it is there. And if you ever find yourself in one of the above-​mentioned situations, I believe you’ll have to agree.

Jedes Mal, wenn ich Sonntags einen Abstecher auf den Mauerpark Flohmarkt mache, lande ich danach im Falafel Ufo.
Hier gibt es weit und breit keine besseren und da wir uns ja hier im Prenzlauer Berg befinden, wo es nicht an jeder Ecke einen Falafelimbiss gibt, trifft sich das für den Besitzer auch ganz gut, was man an den immer vollbeladenen Tischen sehen kann.
