Café Fleury

We were so blessed to have this café near our place during our visit to Berlin. It is the cutest café!!! The Croque Monsieur is one of my all time favorite breakfast dishes now. They have an English version menu which makes it easier for foreigners, staff is friendly, café is cute and just perfect. Outside seating had blankets for guests to stay warm in the winter. Loved loved loved!

Sehr schönes Café. Ich hatte eine Quiche mit Feta Käse und Salat und außerdem einen Kaffee.
Die Quiche war sehr gut und auch der Salat war frisch und auch die Vinaigrette sehr lecker.
Der Kaffee war okay, nichts besonderes, aber ich hatte schon schlechteren.
Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und ich habe nicht lange auf mein Essen warten müssen.
Das einzige Manko war, dass ich am Fenster sitzen musste und der Thekenstuhl ein wenig niedrig in Verbindung mit dem Fensterbrett ist, aber das könnte auch an mir liegen.

Very cute French café/​brunch spot. Ordered the Goat Cheese Egg Sandwhich, with some Orange Juice and an espresso. Roommate had the vegetarian omelette with 2 types of cream cheese, some bread on the side. It was cute, nothing special. A bit overpriced considering only the eggs were organic. A lot of locals walking about on a Sunday so definitely worth the peek if you’re in the area. Friendly staff and patrons too!

Leider musste ich den Kaffee to go mitnehmen, da alle Plätze besetzt waren. Der Kaffee hatte ein gutes Aroma und der Geschmack war allgemein gut aber der milchschaum war meiner Meinung nicht gut.

Kleines aber liebes volles Café ! Frühstück war sehr lecker Große Auswahl an Kuchen und Torte Bedienung war sehr freundlich!

The place itself is lovely and cozy.
However, I have never been served by such a rude grumpy waitress before. I was there on December 2 around 7:30 pm. The waitress girl was real disaster.

Nice caf’e with photos and glass bottles decoration. In summer you can enjoy the sunlight outside, and when you come in winter time, you feel siting at your home with cozy atmosphere! The stuff is super attentive, remember my siting area and know exactly what I need, best service!

There are some places that get just the right mix of relaxing, friendly and classy and this is one of them. The food is fresh and yummy with a French influence. The place is packed in the weekend for brunch so, if you’re in holidays, drop in here during the week to have a big more room to enjoy. There are seats outside with blankets (and if you don’t mind smoking) otherwise there are benches, tables, and stools inside. On a week day morning it’s a wonderful place to peacefully start the day.

Charming, busy little café with delicious coffee and tasty breakfast options located in an energetic, artsy neighborhood. We stayed nearby and ended up eating here each of our three mornings while staying in Berlin. I’d definitely recommend the full omelet — a fluffy egg, tomato and bacon dish to get your day going right.
The service (unsurprisingly) is a bit stern. You better know what friggin table you plan on sitting at BEFORE ordering at the counter. And don’t ask for half and half. Because they don’t have it and they’re irritated you asked for it.
By day 3 we had everything down. Learn from the tips above and get yourself a good, happy breakfast!

The Croque monsieur was delicious. Try it, you won’t regret it. Also, the pastries are great.

One of our favourite spots for coffee. The quiche and lemon tart are both fantastic. I would give this a 5 star if we could get a seat. Its too busy at the best of times.

Had late breakfast on Saturday. Cappuccino was good, waitress was good, food was good. Everything was good so it was too popular and too crowded. I guess that’s the reason why there was no space for big plate presentation like Mokkabar. Lots of schick people at Café Fleury by the way if you like the competition. I will surely return to this place the food seemed great tho wouldn’t order set breakfast again.

one of my favorite places in the city. the food is often good. the wait for a table can make you pull your hair out, but the chance to sit on the terrace and watch the hilarious mitte people in fancy clothing pass by is so so so worth it! the place always smells good, and is super duper cozy. unique concept they have maintained for a few years now. props!

Noch so ein Stamm-​Café mit Suchtpotenzial — weil hier einfach alles stimmt. Vom überaus freundlichen Service, vor allem an der Theke, über die liebevolle Einrichtung bis hin zum tollen Essensangebot. Angeboten wird eine schöné Auswahl an frisch zubereiteten warmen und kalten, süßen (tolle Tartes!) sowie herzhaften Leckereien. Dass hier Selbstbedienung ist, tut dem Wohlfühlfaktor keinen Abbruch, so kommt man immerhin zwischendurch immer wieder in den Genuss eines Lächelns vom netten Kellner hinter dem Tresen. Das Bestellte wird dann nach relativ kurzer Wartezeit an den Platz gebracht — und das, obwohl der Laden meistens voll ist.
Auf einer kleinen Holzterrasse direkt vor dem Café kann man im Frühling/​Sommer die Sonne genießen und das bunte Treiben rund um den Rosenthaler Platz beobachten.
In einer kleinen Ecke im hinteren Bereich gibt es außerdem eine kleine Auswahl an diversen Feinkost-​Artikeln (Wein, Konfitüre, Schokolade…) zu erwerben. Habe ich selbst bisher aber noch nicht ausprobiert und kann dazu nichts sagen.
Mag sein, dass das einer dieser sogenannten Hipster-​/​Touri-​Läden ist (was nicht verwundert, wenn man in einer Hipster-​/​Touri-​Gegend wie der um den Rosenthaler Platz ausgeht), aber es ist definitiv einer der schönsten, freundlichsten und gemütlichsten.
In jedem Fall: eine absolute Empfehlung!

On the morning of my Berlin arrival my travel companion, who arrived weeks before me, dragged me out to Café Fleury. I barely knew where I was let alone how to read a menu, pay for food, or navigate how either of those things happen in this café. Luckily, she’d been here several times previously. It was her «spot».
Go inside, wait in line, and order. Find a table, set your number on top, eat food when delivered, then pay. It seems obvious and simple but things aren’t so when you don’t understand a single word being said and the only German menu word you recognize is «schnitzel».
What my travel companion ordered was also what I ordered. I wasn’t chancing anything: a beautiful cup of soft boiled eggs topped with delicately sliced green scallions and a Latte Macchiato served in a tall, thick glass. We sat out front, beside one another, at a street-​facing table covered in a French-​inspired blue and white cloth, looking out upon a sweet, busy street filled with shops and people. I was about to keel over but I still recognized this as a good place for relaxed people-​watching.
She told me that she’d found this place great for getting work done, meaning that she could sit there a long time after ordering, using the wifi. She’d found other ex-​pats doing the same. She’d also found, as was true on this day, that the heavenly smell of food and baked goods that hits you while in line was not false advertising. What we consumed was warm, satisfying, and simple but perfectly executed.
Plain and simple, Café Fleury is a charming little café with French influences and it will fill your stomach well. For breakfast or lunch, a pot of tea or some caffeine, this is an invitingly warm spot to saddle up to.

Süßes und kleines Café. Das Toast du Roi war leider sehr fad, die Frühstücke schmecken aber sehr, vor allem die selbstgemachten Frischkäsepasten mit Oliven oder getrockneten Tomaten. Die Kuchen sehen toll aus! Pluspunkt: Hier gibt es sogar Caramba! Eine typische Süßigkeit aus Frankreich.
Ich habe bis jetzt immer schnell einen Platz bekommen, weil ich zum richtigen Zeitpunkt da war, aber es ist immer voll!

Nur zu empfehlen! Nette Bedienung, schickes Frühstück! Auch im Winter sollte man für einen Platz schon rechtzeitig da sein. Der Preis ist etwas höher aber gerechtfertigt.

Sehr schönes, nettes kleine Self-​Service Café, mit französischen Kuchen, Limonaden und alles was Herz und Magen sonst so begehren. Witzige Einrichtung.

Superb French breakfast. Might help to have a breakfast reservation. You know a place is good when they take breakfast reservations (we didn’t but got a table fine). They are just a wee bit more expensive than other breakfast spots in the neighborhood, but the food is great and still not that expensive.

Seemed steep for breakfast, but does 2. All is good.
A buzzing, soft furnished epicurean café where leisurely breakfast is a must, even on a Monday morning. Laura Ashley meets the flea market is the style and the service is pretty friendly and efficiently laid-​back.
The € 8.50 breakfast will happily feed 2. We opted for the mixed fruhstück consisting of cured ham, salami, cheese, duck pâté, fruit, soft cheese and a basket of white and rye. Everything on-​board complements the next and we had a job finishing, but relented.
Seats are taken quickly inside, but there’s lots of outside seating where blankets are supplied in colder months. And being so close to Volkspark am Weinberg means a lovely breakfast is finished off with a refreshing walk.

Decent breakfast place — nothing more though. Good coffee options, average breakfast plates. I had the mixed breakfast platter with supposedly French cheese and charcuterie selection, but was disappointed. The only highlight was the duck rilette. The croissant was average — not super fluffy but ok. It’s a nice and cosy place to sit down and read or chat with friends. Nice outdoor seating. No credit cards and proud of it kinda place. Service is normal for Berlin standards — could be friendlier :)

Sehr schönes französisches Café, besonders zum Frühstück oder Nachmittags ein Traum. Ich liebe das vegetarische Frühstück und die köstlichen Tartes. Nur für den Kaffee gibt es Minus Punkte, der schmeckt seit 6 Jahren einfach nur schwach… der Milchschaum ist nicht fest, der Kaffee nicht hochwertig oder das Personal bedient die Maschine falsch, ich weiß es nicht, aber da würde ich was ändern ;)

Sehr nettes kleines Café in der Weinbergstr, direkt neben dem Park gelegen. Preis eher gehoben, Bedienung nicht überfreundlich, aber akteptabel. Recht leckere Kuchen, allerdings komisch dass man an die Theke muss um dann den Platz besetzt zu finden.

Ich kann mich den anderen Beiträgen nur Anschließen. Ein sehr schönes Café mit lecker Speisen. Nur das mit den Service und Sitzplätzen könnte besser klappen.

Sehr schön neben dem Rosenthaler Platz gelegen. Mir wurde das Café zum Frühstücken empfohlen. Es hat sich gelohnt. Sehr gute Qualität der Spesen und die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Leider gibts einen Punkt Abzug, da man zuerst ins Geschäft rein muss um zu bestellen und bis man wieder draussen ist, ist der angepeilte Sitzplatz bereits besetzt. Ich will mich hinsetzen können und dann in aller Ruhe schauen was ich gerne bestellen möchte. Und dann geht’s los…

Entspannte Atmosphäre wie es in einem französischen Café sein muss.
Frühstück sehr lecker und preislich im Rahmen. Der Kaffee ist sehr gut.

Wir LIEBEN es dort zu frühstücken! Im Frühling/​Sommer ist es natürlich super schön draußen in der Sonne seinen Kaffee zu genießen! Aber auch an regnerischen oder kühlen Tagen ist das Fleury einfach süß und einladend! Super Lage und immer wieder einen Besuch wert! Einfach Top!

This place is great. I used to go here often when I lived in Berlin a couple summers ago and found it, the first time, on accident. This place really is lovely. And oddly enough (for Berlin), are really friendly. I got a standard cappuccino and a Francois Fruehstueck.
Normally in Berlin, you pay 4.50−5 Euros for a croissant heated to near inedibility with gummy margarine and jam that more than likely was repurposed from someone else’s table. At Café Fleury, I got quite possibly the best croissant in recent memory (didn’t even need the *real* butter!) a baguette, jam, awesome butter, and three huge grapes. For 3.50Euros. In terms of getting your money’s worth, this place is pretty good.
Looking around, I saw that all of the portion sizes were healthy (I normally come in to think and drink. ^-^) and as usual, they have a healthy selection of magazines and newspapers. It really is a lovely café and if you can, definitely stop by.
Bonus: They didn’t give me that «Ami» exasperation look when I asked for tap water.

I had a delicious lunch here a while ago: a simple baguette with goat cheese and vegetables and an espresso macchiato. The atmosphere here is a little froo-​froo for my taste, but it definitely gives off the impression that they know what they’re doing. I’d love to come back.

Heute mal kein Kaffee. Heute gibt es Quiche Lorraine. Es ist der Mittagspausen Check fürs Fleury. Wie lange dauert es von der Bestellung bis ich mein Essen auf dem Tisch habe? Macht es satt? Macht es voll und träge? Wie ist das Preisleistungsverhältnis?
Die Quiche kostet 6 EUR und kommt mit Salat. Sie kommt nach 10 Minuten. Das finde ich fair.
Beim ersten Happen wundert mich noch die Konsistenz der Quiche. Sie ist ungewöhnlich cremig. Ein bisschen wie warmer Pudding. Nichts für Leute, die eine Obsession mit weich zubereiteten Eiern. Nach dem dritten Happen hat mich der Geschmack aber überzeugt. Die Quiche ist lecker. Auf den Punkt salzig und der Speck ist weder trocken noch hart.
Der Salat ist simpel aber gut und macht mich zusammen mit der Quiche satt. Aber nicht so satt, dass ich das Gefühl habe, Ich könnte nicht mehr arbeiten.
Bonuspunkt: Sonnenseite. Bei entspannten 23ºC sitzt es sich sehr gut auf der Terrasse. Bräunungseinheiten zum Nulltarif inklusive :-)

One afternoon I felt like I wanted a change of scenery, and so I left my office and went here. I figured that’s a good excuse to try out a new café, right?
So I went here, and placed an order at the counter. I wanted something sweet, but unfortunately, I guess I am not a big fan of French sweets, as all they had were tart-​like offerings, and I wanted something more in-​your-​face. In the end, I opted for a slice of their cheeseckase (2,50 EUR) and a hot chocolate (2,50 EUR), which they can make either dark or white.
I paid, and then perched at one of the tables outside. The cheesecake was delicate and not very oppressive, and the hot chocolate was potent. I liked it overall, but I just cannot find something that would make me «fall in love» with the place, unlike the other reviewers here. As others have said, the outside seating area and the interior is nice, but nothing special in my opinion.
3 stars. If they had wifi, then I would have probably given them another star.

Soooo lecker, ob der Kaffe, das Frühstück oder die leckern Kuchen und erst recht nicht die Toasts zu vergessen, einfach mega. Immer wieder gerne, wenn wir in Berlin sind. Nur so kann ein Tagesausflug beginnen oder der Wochenendtrip, um gestärkt den Tag zu begehen. Auch super um zwischendurch eine Stärkung zu sich zu nehmen, verweilen und genießen.

Vor kurzem ging ich im Fleury brunchen: Milchkaffee und Baguette mit Ziegenkäse und Ingwerchutney (lecker!!!). Der Kaffee ist rauchig, was nicht unbedingt mein Fall ist. Außerdem sollten die Milchkaffeetassen bis zum Rand und nicht einen halben Zentimeter darunter gefüllt werdendas sieht leider etwas geizig aus. Alles in allem schmeckte es mir aber gut.
Die Einrichtung und vor allen Dingen die Fotos und Kissen sind einfach wunderbar. Die Besitzerin hat ein sehr gutes Händchen fürs Dekorieren und konnte sich hier richtig gut austoben. Daumen hoch!

Ich war sehr zufrieden. Könnte etwas mehr Raum gebrauchen, aber Kaffee und Kuchen waren Top. Das man an der Theke bestellen muss sollte man wissen, stört aber nicht.

Der große Vorteil das Ladens ist ganz klar die Lage. Den die ist perfekt für ein Frühstück am Vormittag den da ist dieser Platz mit der allseits beliebten SONNE gesegnet. Und da man hier draußen sitzen kann hab ich mich schon mal nen Ast gefreut die ersten wärmenden Frühlingssonnenstrahlen geniessen zu können!
Etwas abgesetzt vom Rosenthaler Platz ist es hier ganz ruhig, gleich nebenan ist auch noch ein ganz netter Park. Wer zu viel Kaffee getrunken hat kann hier seine nervösen Koffeinschübe austoben.
Zurück zum Fleury: Hier ist alles irgendwie französisch, anscheinend auch die Mädels hinterm Tresen. Das kann dann auch mal zu kleinen Kommunikationspannen führen. Auf den Hinweis das der frisch gepresste O-​Saft noch nicht geliefert wurde, wurde ich auch erstmal sehr kritisch angeschaut. Da fühlt man sich doch gleich richtig gut!
Zu Essen gibt es neben Kuchen jede Menge Auswahl an belegten Baguettes die frisch und in schönen Kombinationen aber relativ spartanisch belegt werden. Der Preis ist okay, für Hamburg wäre es günstig.
Der Kaffee gelingt den Damen dagegen hervorragend, die bestellte Schorle war auch gut gemischt. Man kann es also aushalten.

Este café es super bonito, de buen gusto, bien ubicado, el käsekuchen super recomendable, realmente vale la pena darse una vuelta!

Ein wirklich gemütliches Frühstückscafe, bei dem man die Zeit vergessen kann!
Obwohl wir spontan zu viert an einem Sonntag dort frühstücken wollten, dauerte es nicht lange, bis ein Platz für uns frei wurde. Das frisch zubereitete Frühstück mit Obst, Müsli, Frischkäse und das noch warm, dazu– gereichte Brot schmeckte köstlich und begeisterte uns alle.
Auch der Himbeer-​Cheesecake überzeugte mit seinem frischen, fruchtigen Geschmack.
Lediglich der Soja-​Latte entsprach nicht ganz der Erwartung, aber das macht der Service und die Atmosphäre wieder wett! :)

Einen echten Mehrwert kann ich mit dem Text nicht bieten. Es wurde schon alles geschrieben.
Ambiente und Leistungen in Form von brennbaren Inhalaten wie Milchkaffee, Cappuccino, Croissant, Macarons, Madeleines sind sehr francoirgendwas.
Das Publikum ist es nicht, macht nichts, dafür halten die iPad-​Esel und Eselinnen als auch die Eituteigesprächsfetzengebärdenden den Laden ganz gut am Laufen. Das ist gut.
Für den Umsatz des Cafés. Und die Gewinnabsichten.
Und für mich.
Weil ich dann dort auch in Zukunft auf francoirgendwas stoßen werde ohne den Laden gleich kaufen zu müssen.

I hope I am writing the review for «the right one» as there are two of these directly opposite from one another. From what I could tell one seems to be more a café while the other offers a variety of food from croque, quiche, salad to cakes etc. The interior and outside seating area are nice, but nothing special in my opinion. I have had a salad as well as croque here (more like a sandwich though) and both were nice. The prices are ok (since it’s Mitte) and the staff was also friendly. The food takes a while to be served though, so don’t eat here if you’re in a rush. Besides coffee and tea they also serve wine and beer btw.

Cosy place and excellent breaskfast!

Nice coffee, sawdwiches and cakes (the Grand mere cake is amazing)
And loads of nice french products such as limonade mortuacienne.

A friend of mine and I visited this place in the Mitte.
I instantly fell in love. There is an outside patio area to sit on and enjoy your meal. There is also seating inside. There are pictures around the café. There are also French products to purchase.
This is a self service place, so I would advise to pick out which table you will be seated at and then go order. They will ask where your table to located.
I went here about 4 – 5 times for breakfast after discovering it, and I always ordered the same thing.
–Cappuccino which was strong and excellent. Way better than our watered down coffee in America.
–Rhubarb Tart, this was so delicious. It was sweet enough, and I loved the tartness which in my opinion balanced out the sweetness.
There was some language barriers, but some of the baristas spoke English and we made it work.
I am really going to miss this place!

Café Fleury is a cute little french café in Mitte which serves french pastries, various coffee drinks and breakfast the whole day. I’ve been here twice for the large breakfast; a large plate full of cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, and egg and a bread basket.
The large breakfast was 11eu and looked to be a good size for a moderately hungry pair. If you are very hungry (or your party consists of more than two), you might want to order something extra. They have a wide range of baguette sandwiches for 3.50eu each.
One star off for the fact that this place is a wee bit pricey. The breakfast was delicious, though, and I’ll surely come back.
