Galata Palace

We stayed her for 4 days after booking online. Flew over to take a Cruise and check out the city beforehand and we were Astonished by the problems we found. First room had A/​C but it was controlled by Lobby personnel and never ran long when we asked, also TV didn’t work and sink leaked on floor.
Second room had dangerously loose toilet seat and the flush buttons on the wall were missing there cover plate so you had to figure it out and look at a hole in the wall. A/​C in this room never worked at all. The window frame was so loose that it leaned in at the top 2−3″ if you tried to open it ! Breakfast was stale bread and some spreads…
This guy has put some money into fancy statues and adornments in the Lobby but overlooks most/​all of the maintenance issues.

— located in the district Karaköy in a small street (busy during the day, quiet at night)
— most attractions can be reached by 15 minutes walk (over Galata bridge) or tram (tram station Karaköy: 1 minute walk)
— staff is very friendly and helpful
— different rooms (different sizes); some are really small, but all are clean
— price per night: 120 Euro (still a little bit high for the room size); breakfast included (Turkish breakfast very tasty)
Location is really good for sightseeing, staff is nice, breakfast is good, rooms are clean, but price is a little bit high!
