Met up with some friends here(their choice) on a Saturday early afternoon. The restaurant is huge with tons of tables, but it was mostly empty that day. By the time my husband and I got there our pals had already finished eating a received their bill. The waiter wasn’t phased when we got there and pulled up a couple of more chairs and brought us a menu. The menu is very long and not very focused. Pizza, sandwiches, chicken fingers, salad, seafood, pasta, wings — it was hard to decide because I didn’t really want any of it. I ended up ordering a Margherita pizza, which was not much like a true Margherita, more just like a cheese pizza with three olives in the middle. Our waiter was nice but, as with almost everywhere else I went in Istanbul, took forever to bring the bill. We actually had to flag him down. The place was lacking in atmosphere and there are so many more interesting restaurants in Istanbul that I would prefer to try before revisiting BeerPort.
