Located in Arnavutkoy, just tucked away from the traffic on the seaside road, Adem Baba has a stellar reputation amongst the locals for fish. They offer quality, seasonal fish at a reasonable price. The cold meze was just all right, in my opinion. I would go straight for the warm meze ordering the shrimp guvec in butter and the fried calamari. Don’t forget to sop up the hot butter with bread(no brainer!). Then, order the fish of your choosing. Most are fried. So, if you don’t want fried fish, ask what your options are for grilled. It isn’t really clarified in the menu because locals understand which fish should be fried and which fish isn’t. Don’t forget to get a salad. The portions for salads are quite big. One would be enough to share between 2 people. The only down side about this place is that they do not serve alcohol. In fact, a lot of fish restaurants in this neighborhood do not serve alcohol.
