Herring that tastes good; diffident service Wanted as authentic a meal as I could get on my last night in Stockholm and decided to go back here(it had closed at 9 p.m. the previous day when I perused the menu; odd, since every other restaurant in the Gamla Starn was open). The servers were rather disinterested and the whiskey-infused butter that came with the bread was not very tasty. That’s not a complaint from me as I seldom put butter on my bread. To go totally native I had elk steak which was quite pleasant and three herring dishes as an appetizer. Amazingly the«traditional» one was quite tasty. If you want an authentic meal in pleasant surroundings, this is the place.

Went there with some friends that like a good whisky. Excellent selection of malts and some very good beers. Right in the heart of the old city, good place to hang out and enjoy some good drinks

The Ardbeg Embassy is a little gem in the heart of Stockholm. It’s known for its extensive beer menu and traditional Swedish dishes. When my friends and I went for lunch, there were only a few other people there so we made nice with our server who gave us some recommendations for places to party around town. We enjoyed some brewskies over some Swedish meatballs, lamb, and some other traditional dishes. The Ardbeg is pricey. As if Scandinavia isn’t expensive already, this place is definitely on the high end when it comes to pub food. The atmosphere is pretty cool. Kinda like being in an underground cellar. Since they’re known for beers, I suggest coming here to drink and eating elsewhere.

I took my Scottish boyfriend to Ardbeg Embassy for a change of pace from fine dining. We were surprised by the good«pub» food here. I had artic char and sav blanc for wine. My boyfriend had the mix of meats and some beer. We liked it as it was a nice change of pace from the great fine dining that we had on our trip.

We were on a quest to find pea soup on a Thursday. Had given up and then we walked past Ardbeg in Gamla Stan, Sweden on our way to find something else. How lucky we were! We ordered the pea soup, and it was very good. It was served with mustard to add to the soup for your taste, and a small sausage of wild boar and a piece of smoked pork. Both of which were excellent and with an extraordinary taste. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere and waiters are very attentive. For the whisky lovers, this is certainly the place to be. Never seen such an extended menu of different whiskies. Would def recommend this place, but not if you are very hungry! The portions are smaller than most places and the prices are high.
