Lasse Lucidor

This review is about the service, not about the food, which we didn’t have for reasons that soon will be come clear.
I had originally found Lasse Lucidor on
as I was looking for a nice lunch spot in the Old Town. The menu looked quite good and it said that they were open until 15:00 which suited us good as it was already 13:30. Just to be sure, I went to their own web site as well and it said that that they served lunch until 14:30. OK, that’s a little earlier, but still plenty of time.
We strolled leisurely over there and arrived at 13:58 exactly. The restaurant was quite busy, but I spotted a couple of free seats outside. Perfect! Knowing that Swedish restaurants often stop serving lunch at 14:00, I triple checked with a waiter that lunch was still being offered and when he told us that it was, we sat down and got handed the lunch menus. He then disappeared.
Moments later, another waiter arrived. After having found out that we had just sat down, he told us that lunch *no longer* was being served and that we had to order from the (much more expensive) à la carte section instead. When we protested and said that were only interested in the lunch menu and that they themselves had listed lunch as lasting until 14:30 on their website, he went back inside, I guess to check with someone. He returned quickly, though, only to reiterate that no, the lunch menu was no longer available. What else would we like?
Nothing. With lunch at 95 kr and à la carte at 150 – 300 kr, we weren’t interested in the 50−200% price hike that other menu offered, so we just left. On our way out, I asked him why they stated different hours on their website, but he just shrugged. Great. Thank you. With that kind of attitude, you don’t have to worry about us again. We won’t be coming back, that’s for sure.
Fortunately, Paganini’s lunch menu across the street was still on and would continue to be so until 15:00. Much better and much more customer friendly.
