I’m actually not a huge fan of the Wayne’s chain. And there’s nothing remarkable about this location. And yet, I return again and again.
Yes, they have just what any other Wayne’s has. The furniture is shabby. The wallpaper is crazy, a mix of 70s colors and plaids. The staff clearly wish they were somewhere else.
And yet, I like it. Most of the cafes in this area (Starbucks, Espresso House, the Waynes on Gögatan, etc) are very loud and usually pretty crowded. And when I go to a café, I don’t like to have to raise my voice. It’s supposed to be calm and relaxing.
That’s the atmosphere at this Wayne’s. There is always somewhere to sit — plenty of room, especially upstairs. The chairs are soft and the place is nice and quiet. You can have a conversation at a normal tone of voice, work in peace and quiet, or even share secrets in a whisper. Which is great!

We found this café behind the Stadsmuseum. It was clean with lots of places to sit on 2 floors. They had a good variety of pastries, salads and sandwiches. We had a really nice light lunch and the small coffees were huge and good.
