Muggen

This place is a café that serves food — stick to the tea and coffee. I ordered a daily special, which they didn’t have, which is fine, I understand. Ordered the (rather pricey) hamburger. Took 25 minutes to receive our food. While placing the plate in front of me, the server tipped the plate and two tomato quarters and onions fell off the burger onto the table, which the server neither acknowledged or cleaned. The burger was served on something similar to focaccia, but oversized relative to the burger, so it was very bready. Picked it up to realize that the not only had the bottom piece of bread not been toasted/​heated, it was still cold from the fridge. I guess 25 min was not long enough to heat the entire bun. The ‘side’ of cole slaw came in a teeny dish that held at most 2 teaspoons. Less a side, more a garnish. Probably fine for coffee but I will avoid this place in the future.

If you have a sweet tooth and want a snack in a cozy café, this is a great place in the heart of Södermalm. I found the snacks quite rich, but they are also generous with the whipped cream. Prices are high, though.

Ran in from the rain here while walking around. A classic café atmosphere full of younger people. Had a few beers and shared a nice sandwich with warm goat cheese, honey, beats and avocado.
I probably wouldn’t go back to eat a full meal here, but for a quick snack it was nice.

I used to like this place, even if I would not have given it five stars then, either. The atmosphere is nice in the main seating area, not so nice in the second area or outside. Food is average for Stockholm. The desserts are huge but not great tasting. Unfortunately, the last time I went I got food poisoning from the chorizo pasta. Someone didn’t wash his hands! Will never go back.

If you’re looking for a place in which you can eat quickly, this may be it. Service was alright (you order at the counter and they serve it at the table) and the food OK! The desserts looked better than they were but they were still pretty good.
Really good music in the background though, +1 for the coziness!

They have delicious food and the atmosphere is so cozy. It’s my favorite place to come on my day off and relax.

This definitely is not worth the money you have to spend for a coffee. It is nice, but nothing special. It’s simply ordinary.
There’re better places to get a coffee in Stockholm. I’d for example recommend Drop Coffee, which is pretty close.
This is definitely the better choice.
But I have to admit, there was freaking good jazz playing in the background.

Inmejorable localización, local monísimo, comida buena… ¡Pero carísimo! Incluso para los que viven allí. No merece la pena pagar tanto por un simple sándwich, realmente es para caminar 20 metros e irte al bar de al lado para pagar la mitad por básicamente lo mismo.

Ein Bistro/​Café mit Selbstbedienung, Preis-​Leistung past. Sehr lecker und wenn man draußen sitzt, kann man dem regen Treiben auf der Straße Götgatan zusehen. Dem Kellner lieber ein bissl Trinkgeld geben, dann ist er freundlicher, aber das ist ja bei Kellner allgemein so ;-)

This is a self-​service restaurant (well, they serve the dishes, but you have to order at the cashier), but it’s quite good and cheap, and the staff was friendly.

super lecker und sehr gemütlich. eine gute abwechslung zu den touristischen cafes und restaurants ingamla stad. die speisekarte gab es nur auf schwedisch, aber die kellnerin hat uns ganz lieb alles erklärt. die gäste waren typisch stylische stockholmer, die genüsslich ihren chai tranken. sehr angenehm und auf jeden fall einen besuch wert!

Muy centrico y muy popular. Como en muchos sitios parecidos lo típico es ir a tomar café y algún dulce, pero se puede tomar de todo, desde una ensalada a un buen plato de carne. La calidad de todo es muy buena y el servicio muy bueno también, teniendo en cuenta que en Suecia lo normal es el Self Service, tu te lo llevas a la mesa y coges el azucar, y la cuchara, y etc. etc.
Por cierto tienen productos para intolerantes con la lactosa y celíacos así que nadie se puede quedar sin probarlo. :-)
De precio bien para ser Estocolmo, ni más caro ni más barato, lagom que dirían aqui en Suecia.

Man kann hier auch zu kälterer Jahreszeit wunderbar draußen sitzen, da einem Überstülpdecken draußen liegend zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Mit einem sehr gut schmeckenden Kaffee in der Hand habe ich so bestimmt eine Stunde einfach nur das Treiben der vielen Einkaufenden sowie die Fahrradfahrer beobachtet, welche sich mit großer Mühe den Berg hinaufkämpfen.
Auch gegessen haben wir — nicht nur die Süßen Kleinigkeiten sehr schmackhaft — auch gute deftige Speisen werden serviert. Sie haben eher Bistro-​Charakter sind aber aus guter Küche. Ein Sandwich mit Feta-​Käse, Pinienkernen und roter Bete habe ich in dieser Kombination auf jeden Fall sonst noch nirgends bekommen. Schmackhaft. Leider habe ich das vorher so nicht verstanden, was da drauf war, da die Karte nur auf schwedisch ist und die Bedienung rote Bete nicht auf englisch wusste. Aber ist ja nichts schlimmes passiert.

Hier sitze ich gerne allein und blicke aus dem Fenster und gucke mir die Menschen an, die die Götgatan rauf– und runterlaufen, oder zu zweit und rede mit meiner Begleitung über die Menschen, die wir angucken, wie sie die Götgatan rauf– und runterlaufen. Dazu gibt es Chai-​Tee aus riesigen Bechern, oder Kaffee mit leckerem Sirup und vielleicht ein Stück Kuchen.

Die Kaffeebecher sind richtig große Pötte.
Man kann an Tischen oder auch auf der Fensterbank sitzen und auf die Götgatan schauen.
Wirklich schön!

dass in schwedischen gastrobetrieben sehr viel mehr über SB läuft als in deutschland, ist vielleicht nicht allen bekannt, stellt man aber nach nur kurzer zeit fast überall fest.
ein sehr schönes beispiel für ein solches SB– lunch– café– bistro– gebilde ist das muggen im herzen södermalms. dieser stadtteil ist ohnehin bekannt für seine unkonventionelle frische, seine jugendhaftigkeit und seinen flair. dies alles findet man im muggen.
das ambiente erinnert an ein schönes jahrhundertwendliches bistro. die dynamik in dem laden ist eindeutig neuzeitlich. man muss sich seinen platz schon ein wenig erkämpfen, vor allem in der mittagsstunde! aber hat man es mal geschafft, kann man sich an der ganzen (zugegeben nicht allzuriesigen) auswahl an internationalen köstlichkeiten erfreuen. während die auswahl der warmen speisen sehr durch die italienische küche dominiert wird (pasta, salate etc.), findet man die für schweden typische sehr sehr sehr leckere auswahl an herrlichsten desserts!
besonders toll fand ich die wassertheke. in deutschland ja noch ein wenig seltener zu finden, gibts in schweden in so ziemlich jedem lokal leitungswasser umsonst. das muggen begnügt sich allerdings nicht mit ordinärem leitungswasser. dort findet man eine auswahl an wasserkannen, die mit jeweils anderen ingredienzen gefüllt sind, und so dem wasser eine feine ganz bestimmte note verleihen. mein absoluter favorit war basilikumwasser!!!
