An underground playground for grown-ups located in a basement on Södermalm. I have only been here once, but i was surprised about the outcome. I didnt know what to expect since i heard so much about it. But once i strolled down the stairs, i was met by a spartan like venue starting with a bar. Further more they inhoused a couple of tables for dining, a ping-pong table, shuffleboards and boule courts. It was a lot of games going on everywhere, and you can easily spend a night here doing something unusual for a change. Although theres a lot of going on here, the atmosphere is pretty chill. So I wouldnt go here to start of a night, i would go here to spend the night. Place is very casual so you dont have to dress up to feel comfy. They do charge pretty well for the shuffleboards, but i donno about the other activities. My guess is that they run a pretty healthy business with no further financial issues. If you are a big kid who never grew up, or just a kid that wanna go big for a night, this is probably heaven for you!

Really fun, extensive underground bar. I enjoyed a few glasses of champagne and people-watched the groups playing ping-pong and bocce. This would be a super-fun place to come with a group before or after dinner. We were here in late September 2015 on a weekday evening, and did not have to pay any cover charge. Recommended.

WARNING: Not what it used to be. :( They say don’t be afraid of change. Change is good. But change can also be bad. And I’m afraid my beloved Owl is not the same. I used to adore Ugglan(The Owl). But I hadn’t been for a year, and when I went back this time I was shocked to see how it has altered. For one thing, even though we went at 6pm, we were charged 50kr to get in. I’ve heard that it’s normal to pay after 6 or 7 there, but I’ve never had to pay that early before. The guard — who was smoking the entire time — was also rather rude to us, and searched our bags and confiscated my friend’s Loka water bottle ‘because alcohol isn’t allowed’. But whatever, we paid and surrendered our water bottles and embarked down the seedy, metal, industrial-looking stairway. That’s one thing I liked and still do like about this place: the weird industrial look. You feel like you’re going down into some secret lab, except it looks more like a dirty alley. And yet somehow it’s awesome! Although, the metal grate stairs are pretty damn scary to walk down when you’re wearing heels. Anyway. Ugglan is known for pingis — the Swedish cutesy term for ping-pong. It is also now the only game you can play for free. In one room there is a ping-pong table, and whoever wants to joins in for ‘around the world’ ping-pong, hitting the ball once and continuing to run around in a circle. It’s a lot of fun really, and a nice way to start interacting with some Swedes! However, all of the other times I have been here in the past, you were allowed to play other games too. The game room was unsupervised and you could put in a few coins to play air hockey, or play around with boule or darts of your own accord. Not so anymore! You have to pay to get into the games room and participate in any such frivolities. The girl in the cash register made a big deal about how if we kept our receipts from the entrance fee, then we would get a discount on the games. Wait, what? So, if you pay the mandatory entrance fee, you get a discount on games? But you can’t get in without paying the fee, which means you couldn’t play games anyway… so…basically…there is no discount. The discount is a lie. Downstairs used to also have dirt floors(a lot of it, at least) and plenty of sofas. Now the entire place has hardwood floors and the cozy sofas have been replaced with weird hard chairs and low tables. Bleh. The reason it still gets three stars from me is that it’s still cool and still fun. But the service is worse and the prices are high, and it’s not as cool as it was. Very sad!

The things I don’t like about this place, outnumber the things I do but it’s still a pretty unique mix-up to your average night out at a bar. There are plenty of games around the place, and while it can be pretty busy things tend to free up pretty quickly. You know it’s not going to be anything typical from the moment you get to the seedy stairway into the basement and take a look at the garage bar setup. They do have a decent selection of beer at standard Söder prices. That being said, this place also kind of sucks. It’s stupid expensive for boule, which isn’t exactly a riveting game to play or costly game to run. If you’re thinking about the space it takes to play, then realize that no less than 10 people that you didn’t come with will be standing in the sand pit with you and probably tripping over the balls you are throwing or wandering aimlessly in front of people about to throw a solid metal ball at them. Let’s not talk about the dart board setup, which is actually over one of the ball pits. The boule room is also hot as hell so make sure you can strip down to loose clothing. The line to get a beer, or coins to play the games from a credit card purchase has to be done up front and takes 10 minutes. 10 minutes to get a beer, that’s really weak. As the night goes on you will also get a sweet whiff of some serious body odor from everyone around you in line since everyone is sweating their ass off in this non-ventilated mine-shaft. The desk to get darts/boule balls/etc is also a total cluster $@% and can also take forever to navigate. Hipsters come to this bar in droves though so be prepared to see Stockholm’s finest sitting around the board game tables showing off their coolest tattoo’s and gangster caps. Don’t be the fool that comes late and stands in a queue to pay a cover charge to enter a BAR, though. Like I said, I don’t like this place, but it still deserves a good rating and is a good spot to have on the map for Stockholm. Go with a good sized group and enjoy the good parts!

Awesome place! I went there for an afterwork with some colleagues and we had so much fun. Good choice of beer and food, either fast food or even buffet. There are big tables where you can sit if you want to take the time to eat. Then you can go play basically anything you want. We played shuffleboard, fussball, packman on arcade, flipper, air hockey(man I loved that one!), billiard and ping-pong. It’s really different than just going to a normal bar, sitting around and having a drink.

Fantastic. I came here for a night out with some friends from work and had such a great time! Quirky little place underground filled with games like air hockey and pool, 80s arcade games and more. There is an entrance fee after around 6⁄7 for about 50kr but well worth it. Good selection of different beers(no Falcon in sight) and the food is very nice too. I had the pulled pork which tasted fresh, served with a range of sauces and extras. Once this place fills with people, there is a Ping Pong table which everyone circles around and places a group game. Get a bat and join in but there are some great players so bring your ‘A’ game! Overall, fantastic after work venue for those looking for drinks or a great night out. Ugglan has everything to keep you there till it closes. Just amazing!

Only had some beer, which was good lager, but nothing exceptional. The gritty basement local with pinball and ping pong make it fun though.
