It wasn’t for a lack of effort that I give them two stars, but the food experience was lacking for the lunch buffet. Salad was the best part. Hostess didn’t speak English and I think they may have been a bit embarrassed by this because they kept bringing us watermelon and spring rolls. My elementary Swedish got us by but the phở was very basic and the beef didn’t look too appetizing. The dessert cookies were stale and/or soft. The experience was positive but wouldn’t recommend that you eat here.

DISCLAIMER: This rating is based on my comparison to what you can get in California. In terms of what you can get in Stockholm, this is the only restaurant phở I’ve tried thus far. If you haven’t already noticed, there is a lack of phở in Stockholm. Thang Long Phở was conveniently located in my neighborhood, so I decided to give it a try. Came for lunch on a weekday. Staff were very friendly and customers seemed to be pretty into the buffet special, which by the looks of it appeared a bit too greasy for my taste. I seemed to arrive after lunch rush hour because most tables still had dirty dishes… which was odd I thought… and nobody seemed to be in a rush to clean up the tables. Anyhow, I got the beef phở for about 90SEK($ 12USD, quite reasonable for Stockholm). The phở seemed more like the northern style, with thicker noodles. No bean sprouts. Good amount of beef(but overcooked and not sliced thinly), a slice of lime, and sprinkle of onion and coriander. There was sriracha, so I was happy. The flavor was ok but a bit underwhelming. It sort of satisfied my phở craving at the time I was eating it, but the aftertaste wasn’t that great(felt like I had just eaten instant phở). At least it wasn’t very greasy. If you want to try phở, this place is just ok, but I don’t have any other comparisons so far in Stockholm.
