Awesome music, great beer, just a little awkward smell in the back area… I’ll be back!

A month ago we visited Stockholm and went to this restaurant. I loved the unique atmosphere and the warm service. The foods were great. We tried their special akevitt, hmmmm they were really nice. Highly recommend place if you wanna try something different. 5* from me

Great location and décor ~ really medieval feel to it. Also, good beer, and a quiet place to talk. Didn’t try the food, though, so can’t speak to the whole experience.

I would put something wonderful and memorable, but the deliciousness that was the mead has fogged my brain. The appetizers were very, very tasty.

I loved this place! great and different beer(mead) and the venue is quite different than you definitely have seen up to know, it’s like going backwards in time to the medieval era! The staff was very friendly. And the pulled pork for lunch was also very nice and different, although the portion was a bit small.

I came here one night before dinner to have some mead. I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. It’s dark and creepy, tunnel-y and ancient looking. The staff here was super nice and extremely helpful. I was unfamiliar with mead so the kind bartender(?) explained what it was and recommended a few. I also had some cider here. I didn’t try any food, however those prices look insane and I would never(unless someone paid for me of course).

Great place, reasonably priced for what you get and in Stockholm. The atmosphere is themed well, and their own brews of mead and aquavit add to the authenticity. Highly recommend.

I found out about this place doing an online search for restaurants in Stockholm that serve mead.(Yes, I’ve watched The 13th Warrior way too many times.) The consensus from my research was that this place was a bit of a tourist trap but still the best for having a pint of mead along with eating like a Viking — and they absolutely do play up the whole Viking/medieval theme as the place looks like it’s located in a dungeon from the 1500s. They even go so far as to offer«fairytale creatures» as a dish.(Although, I was intrigued by the possibility of eating roast leg of satyr, the dish required a little more time and money than I was able to spare. Order way in advance if that’s what you’re looking for.) I was half expecting our waiter to tell us that we weren’t going to get forks and knives because they«didn’t have utensils in Medieval Times». Overall, I’d have to say I was impressed with this place. My friend and I came in during a slow time, and told our server that we wanted mead and he started us off with a mead beer. After finishing our beers, we wanted to know what else he recommended and we received an impromptu lesson on all the different types of mead being made and the differences between them. The server(who was also one of the managers) really knew his stuff and went way out of his way to give us a great experience there. The food, itself, was also quite good. I had the Pommes Dorees which is elk meatballs in a cream sauce with lingonberries, and my friend had the Vildsvinfile(wild boar meat in blackberry sauce). Both dishes were quite tasty and left us full. Considering this place is in Gamla Stan and overrun by tourists, I’m sure many Stockholm natives might say this place lacks authenticity, but to my(admittedly unrefined) palate, the food here tasted as good as any other place I tried in other, less-touristy parts of Stockholm. If you’re coming to Stockholm on vacation and want to sample Swedish game dishes(and you’re like me and find yourself saying«It’s made of honey!» too many random times), I highly recommend this place.

Great place to hear live music and have a drink. Skip the wines(they are rarely poured and might have gone bad). They have special Mead Beers on tap.
