Walked in looking for a cheap and tasty lunch after touring Gamla Stan. The staff was immediately attentive and friendly. The Irish pub atmosphere was lovely. The food and extremely affordable lunch prices were terrific. Highly recommended.
P. S. They also had great music playing.

Excellent Caesar salad and good selection of beers.
Salad was lunch special for 99kr — would be nice with a lunch special on that beer as well.
Big plus for really clean restrooms.

Yum! Pretty laid back place. Decently priced. Was wandering through Gamla Stan with my boyfriend looking for a decently priced place to grab a bite to eat and came across this place.
I had the Veggie Burger and it was really good! They put all the usual– garden patty, tomatoes, onions, thousand island, and it also had grilled pineapple! Yum!
My boyfriend had the fish and chips and said they were really good as well!
Great selection of beers and drinks.

SO, A GERMAN AND AN AMERICAN WALK INTO AN IRISH BAR IN SWEDEN…
…and it was awesome.
We love Irish beer, so finding this place on a winding little street was a treat. Being hungry, we ordered a cheeseburger with fries and the Swedish Meatballs served with mashed potatoes and tiny berries in a brown gravy. The burger was good, but the fries were great. The meatballs were very tasty, although a bit overcooked. The potatoes, gravy and berries were super yummy.
It wasn’t very busy when we were there, so we ordered at the bar and paid then. The bartender wasn’t especially friendly, but the other employees made up for him.
Reasonably priced — for Stockholm, which is a very expensive city.
I wouldn’t seek this place out when next I’m in Stockholm, but I wouldn’t avoid it either. It’s a good place.

O’Connell’s is a great little sports bar in Gamla Stan that offers well priced drinks, any sporting match you could dream of, delicious food and comfortable seating areas to throw back a few whilst catching up with friends.
The staff are lovely and always good for a chat and a laugh plus there’s free wifi! Definitely a great place to come in Stockholm!

Saw an incredible band here playing traditional Irish music. Great atmosphere and energy, and this pub was a great venue for it. There’s a typical pub upstairs, then a fantastic underground cavern of a bar below. The bartenders were friendly, and the draft list was strong. It was really packed for the gig, but everything else was great. Highly recommended

I went here the other day after just returning from Dublin. It sounded like almost everybody in this place was speaking with an Irish accent! That, in combination with the live music, it felt like I was still on vacation in Ireland! The food was ok, normal style pub food. My chicken club was a bit heavy on the mayo, but I noticed that same thing when I ordered a chicken club in Ireland, so maybe it’s just authentic? Lolz. ;) I can say that the beer was good and the service was friendly. I didn’t notice that they had an upstairs and downstairs until we were leaving. It was a little crowded on the main floor if you just peek in. If you want an Authentic Irish pub in Stockholm I recommend going here or to The Southside. The Southside is a little better on the food side, but O’Connell’s has a cozier atmosphere in an older building in Gamla Stan if your just looking for a drink.

There is more to this place too. If you head downstairs into the 400 year old cavern you ‘ll come across a second bar and dart room. Great if what you are looking for is a more quiet and dark spot to hang with your friends. I’ve had the fish and chips just like I should do, and it was great. The staff was very cool and I look forward to going back.
If you want a nice spot to grab a beer before heading to the clubs in Old Town, this is the spot.

It was my last night in Stockholm and I decided to head out for a night on the town.
I was talked into heading in here by one of the owners? bartenders? with the promise of Bluegrass.
Having lived in both England and Ireland, there is something comforting about an Irish pub. It seems to be the one thing that is in nearly every city I have ever been too and, like comfort food, it sets the soul to right. And this little gem is no different.
The service was quick. I never had to wait more than a few minutes for my next beer. The crowd was lively and boisterous, sing passionately along with «Country Road» (the most universal song in the world) and finally dancing as the night wore on.
This is definitely some place I will try to pop into every time I am in Stockholm.

Not knowing Stockholm that well, my friend and I were searching for a cool place to have a brew at. Everything we looked at was either too dive-​y or too lounge music playing with pillow cushion sofas. I was about to give up until I heard some lively foot-​stomping kind of music in the distance.
I followed my ears and found O’Connells Irish Pub. Immediately was greeted by the bouncer who informed us that there was a bar with darts downstairs.
When we came, the top floor was packed. The band that was playing seemed to be British and rocked. Wish I remembered their name. We stayed for a bit to watch the band but then went downstairs.
I loved everything from the brick walls and wooden tables, decent prices to the hot local Swedes that would come in. In fact, I might have given this place 5 stars were it not for the bartender lady. She seemed to have a bit of an attitude, like she didn’t like her job or was just having a bad day and so wanted everyone else to have one, as well. Except that, everything else was very enjoyable.
Will most definitely come back the next time I’m in Stockholm!
P. S. Whoever picked out their music playlist has amazing taste. Heard one amazing British musician to another, back to back (ie, Ben Howard to Florence & The Machine, etc).

My kind of place.
66 sek for each pint of Guinness, 139 for delicious fish & chips. The peas that came with the fish & chips were perfect too, just right amount of pepper in there. I also tried the «sampler plate» or whatever it’s called, with the calamari and chicken wings and such. Really good, but a bit heavy on the salt.
Over the *ahem* hours I spent relaxing at the bar it seemed like many locals came & went, everyone seemed to know each other and call each other by name. Really good crowd to just hang out and BS with on a weekend afternoon, sit at the bar or maybe stand around out front and smoke. Lot of English and Irish guys. Music was good, volume in the goldilock’s zone. They have tables out front on two sides of the building and you can eat/​drink out there if you like.
They have a really cool, old basement with a full bar and live music on weekends (bluegrass band when I was there).

Probably the best irish bar in stockholm. Its small, but where u will more likely find other irish people. Nice food, and they do show sports from rte here

There are no strangers here — only friends who have not yet met!
O’Connell’s Irish Bar has a great selection of beer and whiskey along with a fantastic menu serving wholesome and delicious meals. The international staff will do their absolute best to accommodate all sport fans. All sport is shown on widescreen, be it Football, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Hurling, Gaelic football, Aussie rules, Formula 1, Ice Hockey, Tennis, Golf or anything else.
Live music played there, a pool table downstairs, screens for sports fans, a wide range of beer for beer fans and good music for those who just want to enjoy a night out.
