If you’re looking for inexpensive reindeer in Stockholm, look no further! It doesn’t exist… except for here! I kid you not, Stockholm is the most expensive country I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to UAE, Monaco, and the UK, so you can imagine the food in Stockholm will literally cost you an arm and a leg. Maybe even your first born too. But at this hidden gem, you can get quite a bit of food for a more than reasonable price. It’s located inside of a bunch of deli shops, and it looks like you’re in a farmers market, but they do have seating for 3 at this establishment. Yeah, just 3, so don’t bring all your friends. I ordered a whole ground reindeer/elk patty(about 4 – 5 oz), about a cup of the reindeer stew and 8 Swedish meatballs. While waiting for my food to get heated, I was also served rosemary bread crisps with butter and lingonberry jam. The crisps were pretty good, and adding butter made it even better. The Verdict: The reindeer stew was SUPER good! I loved it, and even poured some on my reindeer burger patty. It was a very delicious touch of everything and not too salty like most Swedish food. I would highly recommend this stew. What I didn’t really like here was their Swedish meatballs, which I found to be VERY dry and tasteless. Don’t eat it here. The chef guy was telling me it was because it was pre-marinated and after it gets heated again, it becomes dry. so, if anything, don’t eat it if it’s not fresh. Clearly, this was not fresh. I would skip Swedish meatballs here. I even put some of the lingonbery jam on it, and it didn’t help much with flavor. The reindeer stew on it did help though. Hence the 4 star review. I docked a whole star for unfavorable Swedish meatballs. Check please!: This nice portion of food only set me back 120SEK, or in my case, $ 14USD. Hell yes! Reindeer for less than $ 14? It can be done, even in one of the most expensive cities in the world! They do accept credit cards here, and the service was pretty good. Score!

Saluplats has excellent swedish cuisine at a reasonable price. It is located on the bottom floor of Hotorgshallen. We had swedish meatballs and reindeer stew, both traditional swedish foods. The reindeer stew was especially good. They translated the menu and also recommended some swedish beers to try. The mohawk ale was quite good. One of the few places you can get a good meal for around 100 kr.
