What a great place to eat! This was our second choice but now if we go back here this would be our first choice or would tell people to come here to eat. I had the beef and potatoes meal(with yolk and cream mustard)(ugh I can’t remember the name of it), but it was the best BEST meal I had here in Stockholm. My husband had the split pea with pan cakes for lunch. I recommend this place. It’s supposed to be one of the oldest restaurant in the world! Loved coming here!

The waiter asked what I wanted to eat and I replied I wanted the most Swedish thing on the menu. He recommended this delicious herring dish, and also brought out three other complimentary dishes for us to try. Highly recommend the place, the fish was very tasty and I’m not sure I’ve ever had fresher tasting vegetables. Wonderful service and food.

This is one of the oldest, probably the oldest restaurants in Stockholm. It has along and interesting history(available on the home page). I really like the atmosphere. The dishes are pretty expensive and average. But they usually have lots of different draught beer and they always have wise beer, that I love. So this is a place you visit for the historical atmosphere and the beer.

Ambiente: Innen sehr geräumig, uralt, sehr saubere WC‘s.

Love, love the food! Good beer menu, also. Nice selection of both German and Swedish food on the menu. I had the Swedish country sausage with parsley stewed potatoes(I opted out of the beetroot — just not a fan in general, but I’m sure it’s good…). Good portions too, I had to take about half home b/c it was too much. I think it’s a bit pricey though, my dish was about $ 28USD. I think beer was about $ 12USD. You can also review the history of the place on it’s menu.

This place is fine(if pricey) for drinking but the food is pathetic. It’s not made freshly and is kept warm in huge trays. Somehow they have the nerve to charge through the nose for it — the food is priced about 30−40% more than the quality suggests it should be.

Not really german. Only the Weißbier. I had thought that we could order in German. But the waiter cannot speak german. The meal is actually swedish. Just the name is german. Its a pity.

A classic Austrian style pub/restaurant. I like dropping in for their schnitzels every now and then. Good-ish service in a pub type atmosphere.

I went there a few days ago and it was terrible! First of all they forgot our order so when people who has arrived after was attended before us! We said it to both the waitresses and they justified it saying that : — that day there was only a cook(for more or less fifty people that were in the local !!!) — the wait depend on the dishes you have ordered(but we ordered two goulasch and they arrived apart with a distance of 20 minutes, and after more than a hour .) — to wait ten minutes(maybe they mean 100 minutes) Scared by the cold outside we decided to wait and the result was: –all the plates arrived after one hour and a half we have ordered(mine after exactly 105 minutes !) — to recover the delay they cooked all very fastly and the result was that the food has a very bad taste. In conclusion guys stay away from this!!! There are restaurants in Stockholm where the cost is the same(like Kvarnen) but where you can eat a lot better and not after a wait of one hour and a half !!!
