Brasserie Le Rouge

First real visit to Le Rouge, we had desserts and coffee. A signature of ours. I am a big fan of anything with chocolate and cherries in it and they had a dessert just like that. My companion had the fall apple dessert which was nothing short of divine.
We were welcomed home by our favorite bartender, upon arrival and that in itself is a good base for a lovely experience. The place is cosy and romantic, but seeing as how we were seated in the bar area we didn’t get the whole nine yards.
The service was fantastic, the desserts and coffee were better than we had anticipated and the most important bit (to me) is the bathrooms — which are always in tip top shape.
We haven’t eaten any food there, yet, so I will have to update this when the time comes.

Romantic restaurant, very good and helpfull service. We ordered a bottle of «Terres Fumèe» a sauvignon which combined perfectly with the dinner. We started with the «Steak Tartar», very special with the truffle vinaigrette, fresh and perfect as an starter. We ate «Rouger aux Artichauts», it was a grilled mullet with potatoes, tomatoes and artichoques, the fish was crispy, juicy and matched perfectly with the vegetables; «La bouillabaisse», the fish was very nice and tasty but in my opinion the soup was too strong, it was served with croutons and aioli. We finished with the «Crème Brulee» which was superb. I absolutely recommend the restaurant for a calm quality french dinner.

Delicious! Perfect out door seating on a peaceful street. We returned for a second night!

My wife and I went here on the last night of our honeymoon. The ambiance of the restaurant was fabulous, from the moment we walked through the door we were transported from Old Town Stockholm to Paris, in the Lautrec era. The service was outstanding, all of the wait staff made us feel like welcome and honored guests. And finally, the food was simply amazing! The bread, the drinks, and the entrees themselves were all 5 star, neither of us could manage dessert unfortunately because I’m sure it would have been phenomenal.

My rating is more of a reflection of my tastes, which are more aligned with «value». I’m not a foo foo shi shi sort of person, and Le Rouge is in that spectrum. Went here on business trip so not much of a constraint on spending.
Pros: Service was excellent, ambiance was sophisticated, quiet and good for personal conversation. I can see this as a romantic choice for those folks who enjoy this type of restaurant.
Cons: circus drapes (red and white); Ordered the ribeye medium rare and waiter strongly suggested medium. I eventually gave in and half of it was medium, half medium rare. It was the smallest ribeye I’ve ever been served. It was good… and only good. Below expectations considering the price.
At the end of the day, I wish we had eaten someplace else.

Go here with a group of girls! Such a fun place for a birthday, party, or just date night! Food is very French! Ordered octopus with risotto. I also got about 4 other types of animals along with the octopus! Surprise! Reasonable drink prices. The atmosphere is top notch!

Sea bass was fantastic. Lamb chop equally so. Kind hostess let us eat at the bar, which is against the rules. «It’s only rules.»

If you like bars that make you not want to leave, have a level of service like the Ritz London and you love cocktails then make your way to Le Rouge
