Our server was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and had a warm, welcoming atmosphere! My friend and I shared the mozzarella caprese and it was delicious. I ordered a draft beer and my friend ordered a cosmopolitan, and they both exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Ask for the Swedish meatballs meal; not on the menu. Not a «diet» meal, but yummy!!! We were not expecting much given it seemed very touristy; we were just hungry, but it was a pleasant surprise. Good experience!

Agaton, in my humble opinion, is a tourist trap. One of those restaurants well located in Gamla Stan, huge menu pretty much covering it all, from Italian to Swedish food. Food was good, but Agaton is very expensive.

Good restaurant, really friendly waiters. The restaurant is very touristy and busy which is he only thing that is negative but it did not impact our meal. We really wanted meatballs and so we asked them if they could make them and they said yes. They were delicious!

This was my second time here for dinner. I really liked it the first time and I thought ordering pizza did not do justice to their other offerings. So we I there again. I ordered the garlic bread and their lamb sirloin. The garlic bread was unlike any other — crostini soaked with delicious olive oil and rubbed garlic with a mild pesto and a dash of rosemary! Loved every bit of it The lamb was outstanding! Excellent flavors on the plate, can’t describe in words. I really enjoyed the meal and I’d really recommend this place!

I liked the atmosphere, definitely Northern European. Friendly service and people. Good menu, decent wine and beer list. The Swedish meatballs caught our attention from outside and they were very, very good. Also had the«Nordica» pizza with reindeer and arugula. Very nice. Maybe a little bit pricey for what it was, but still very pleased. I’d recommend.

Came for the cozy environment, it is a shame the food did not match. I had a lasagne which tasted store bought. It was not fresh, and for the price(~150kr) I expect a lot more. It had a very bad, cheap aftertaste. My girlfriend got an overpriced salad about the same price. I imagine this kind of place survives because of the large rotation of new customers coming into gamla Stan. I was not charged for my food. I will not be returning.

Had dinner there on our first night in Stockholm and liked it a lot. The ambiance was a little kitschy, but it was a warm evening and we got a table in one of the open windows, so we could watch the world go by. Friendly service and a bit slow, as noted by other reviewers, but we were on vacation and didn’t mind. Lots of tourists and lots of locals were eating there. That’s always a good sign. The food was exceptional, well prepared and presented, in reasonable portions. My smoked salmon salad, accompanied by a glass of crisp Sicilian white was something to write home about. The personal pizzas are crusty and not overloaded, my hubby was very happy with his. The wine and beer selections are decent and as a whole, the bill was not too bad. I gave it only 4 stars because it is just a tad too cramped to be totally comfortable.

Well the food is ok but, if you order a pizza or dinner and get a glass of wine, be prepared it’s half a glass. They are brazen in emptying an almost empty bottle into your glass and walking away. It’s not about the wine … It’s about the customer experience and expectation. Not met here.

We chose this place as a last dinner venue, and it was perfect. Though it may have been a bit over our budget, the food was so delicious, the staff was very nice and accommodating, and the atmosphere was very clean and romantic. I got the roasted deer sirloin(recommend getting it medium rare), and my girlfriend got the pasta agaton. Both were really good. For dessert, we got the pannacotta and shared a caffe latte. I would recommend this dessert for people who want something that isn’t too sweet. The only downside was that it took forever for us to be given menus, though it looked like we were waiting for 2 more guests. Even then, getting a drink or a glass of water took a couple more minutes. I had to constantly search for my waitress, and stare at her until we made eye contact. Otherwise, our experience was a very good one, and we’re glad to have ended our trip with this restaurant.

Lunch on our arrival to Stockholm, Agaton splits the feel of a small pizza joint and bar. The staff is friendly and will literally come out to the streets to try and bring you in. We were ok with the friendly sell, so agreed. There were 6 of us, but none extremely hungry, so we decided to split 3 pizzas. They let us all enjoy the salad bar, which was average but nice to included for all. The Don Jimmy was decent, with a fair portion of meat. The Diavola was good, but a bit of a let down as it wasn’t very spicy. We also got the Primavera, which looked decent, but I didn’t get a slice to judge. We also asked the waiter for local beer recommendations and he provided two in bottles. We each got one(of each) and they were good. Wish I wrote down the name! Overall, a solid but not memorable experience. I’m sure you could search out better options, but you also won’t be extremely disappointed if you decide to test Agaton.

The only good thing was the food… Really good actually. We were seated as soon as we got in but it was downhill from there… We got seated by the window which on this cold winter day it was DRAFTY! My fiancé but his scarf back on. I would have put my coat back on if it weren’t for the fact that there wasn’t much room to do it. I’m used to being asked what to drink as soon as you sit down but no one came. When the server finally came we ordered food and drinks. And then we waited some more and when we got our food was the last time we saw our server… When we were done eating and ready to pay he was nowhere to be found and the manager ignored our attempts to catch his attention. He looked at us and walked away… I finally asked another girl if she could bring the check or of I should just pay at the bar. She came over to the table with the check and proceeded to hang over my shoulder while I paid on their credit card machine. Made me miss America…

We ended up here as the last resort since the restaurant we planned on going was booked for hours and this seemed like one of the few decent alternatives in the area. We got seated at a table quickly but the service was S-L-O-W after that. It took at least a good 10 minutes before they came to take our order. If we had had better restaurant options as late in the evening as it was, we would probably gone elsewhere. Fortunately the quality of their food more than made up for the slow service. We just started our with garlic bread as the appetizer. It was nicely toasted and had a generous spread of garlic butter and it had very good flavor. I wasn’t sure whether to go with the lamb or reindeer, the waitress recommended the reindeer. She didn’t ask how I wanted it prepared but it was cooked perfectly somewhere around medium. It was served with some kind of blueberry sauce which rounded out the flavors nicely. It was very delicious! By far one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. If you can go during off hours or don’t mind slow service, their food makes it definitely worth it.

Well, it is OK for a quick dinner if you don’t want anything fancy. Greeter at the door was very friendly, but I must agree with writer who was disappointed at first visit. Meaning(lack of) service. We didn’t have to wait for the pizzas but staff wasn’t very attentive. My main problem is that they charge you SEK55(!!! Yep !!!) for a pitcher of fizzy tap water. You heard me, tap wayer. On the menu they make it sound like it is bottled but take it from me it is nothing but plain«Soda Stream water» made by themselves just before serving… I have no problems with tap water, I drink it all the time and prefer it to bottled, but not at a price close to bottled water at a Michelin-restaurant. I could go here again, for as I said easy dinner, but next time I’ll choose something else to drink. They accept AMEX.

My first visit to this restaurant I was very disappointing in the service, or lack there of. The greeter at the door was friendly and the only one in the whole place who was. The food was delicious and reasonable for Stockholm. My sister had pizza that had a wonderful thin crust and a generous amount of toppings. I had baked salmon with potatoes. The atmosphere was decorated very old italian with red plaid tablecloths and silver candelabras. Since the food was so good. I took my boyfriend and friend visiting from out if town here for lunch yesterday. She wanted traditional Swedish meatballs with lingonberry sauce, and she claims it was perfection! I had the cod with lobster and saffron sauce. I also think it was perfect! It was such a wonderful meal for everyone. The best part, the bill was not even so bad. Maybe I caught the staff on a rough day the first time. Yesterday our waiter was friendly, helpful and fast.

Great setting and superb service. Have never had a bad meal here(6 years) and get a pizza and ask them to fold it for you! Solid wine and beer selection. Oh, make sure you leave room for desert! Great restaurant any time of the year

This was one of our first meals in Stockholm. We enjoyed the experience. They had pancakes and jam for the kids, and beef tenderloin and reindeer filet for us. Food was tasty, but a bit pricey. To be expected though, as it is in a very touristy area.
