Broad Street Tavern

The Broad Street Tavern, another highly recommended place to be. Although busy at the weekends, but during the middle of the week you can find time and have a quiet pint of your favourite ale or dip into a snack from the excellent menu. Dinner or lunch its all good and one of the best pub menus you will find in Wokingham.

Probably the best pub in Wokingham. The Tavern has a fine selection of beers and events on offer. It also has a great outdoor space.

The glass covered well has been covered up many years ago a memorable feature. Clive & his wife Beth have been running this pub for over 10 years now & do a fine job keeping the regular Wadworth beers & the many guest ones. Clive hosts regular beer festivals with many fine beers & porters straight from the barrels. I even drank lager once during the less common Lager festivals.
I’ve eaten here many an evening & had one of the tastiest steaks ever. Food suitable for sharing is on offer. There is a fair amount of internal seating at the front, split into two rooms, with a very large patio area out at the rear, beyond the main bar & occasional dance floor. The middle section of the outside area being covered for smokers.
This isn’t the cheapest watering hole in Wokingham but a fine selection of beers can always be had after a long wait on certain nights. Clive knows the bar layout isn’t ideal but I’ve heard hints that the council has blocked changes!
A good atmosphere, good cross-​section of ages of clientale some of which actual drink beer rather than Eurofizz! Thurday evening often hosts live music.
A hint to other customers please leave the fecking chairs where they are supposed to be it drives the staff nuts having a room with tables but no chairs!
As of June 2013 still a good watering hole!

Love this place in the summer as the pation area out the back is massive and they have an outside bar and ptio heaters so its like being on holiday.
Inside is a good size with comfy sofas and lots of space so you dont feel squashed in.
