This was a nice place we stopped at. We were tired and wanted a snack and a drink. Beer was good, cozy place with a fireplace but unfortunately they stop serving food for a few hours in the middle of the day. That is pretty standard in the UK but hard to get used to.

After a trip to the castle, we strolled around the charming town of Windsor, and happened across this little gem. Looking for a traditional English pub, this appeared to fit the bill, and we were glad that we went in. We were warmly greeted by the attendant (barkeep? server?) Knowledgeable about the beers and real ales available and the food was excellent. Served American style fries instead of English chips, but that was a nice change for us being from teh states. I’ll definitely look this pub up next time I’m in Windsor.

After a trip to the castle we were strolling down the street looking for an authentic laid back pub. So many of the places up the street looked fake and then we came across the crosses corner. Good prices drew us in and the great beer and atmosphere kept us there. The bartender was really nice, took our food order gave us a couple pints and even started a fire in the fire place for us. We had a great meal and great drinks. I personally had more fun at this pub than in the castle lol.
