Gastropub goodness in the heart of Warwick A lovely fresh interior and well stocked bar will greet you when you come through the door into the bar area. Potentially this view will be somewhat marred by a horde of people, when we came on a Saturday evening it was about as busy as physically possible here, happily this didn’t reach the restaurant area so make sure you book! Food here is high quality grub, the menu has is really nice selection(with some great salads on it, which you can have as a light starter) of that modern British gastropub type. They will come round with an extremely tempting specials board as well just to make life a little more difficult for you. As far as I can tell they change the menu pretty frequently also. Staff were very good, friendly and they’d actually tried the dishes so could give solid recommendations to you. Price is on the upper end for this type of place but I think you get what you pay for.

Loved the Rose and Crown! My fiancé and I went on a small trip to getaway! We stayed at the rose and crown, and had a really lovely room. We had a nice view from our room and it was the perfect size for just us! We decided to have breakfast there one morning and it was SO good! My fiancé had a typical English Breakfast and I had the American-style pancakes and they were probably one of the best orders of pancakes I have ever received. They were so good and I hope to come back and visit again!

I wonder if I receive a prize for collecting peaches pubs? More smarties would go down a treat! This is a sister pub of The Almanac in Kenilworth, which I visited and reviewed just a week ago. What I love is that even those these are a chain of pubs, The Rose and Crown is totally different to The Almanac, whilst also maintaining some delightful similarities that mark it out as a Peaches pub. The pig, for example, oh and of course, smarties with your coffee! I went here on a Friday afternoon to wait for a friend, and the customers as well as staff were delightfully friendly. It’s a dog friendly pub, in the true meaning of the sense; a bowl of water and lots of fuss is handed out as soon as you canine friend is spotted. The food is delightful, and as well as their normal menu, they also offer an incredibly good value set menu, at £12 for two courses or £14.95 for 3. This menu is available Monday to Saturday from(if I remember rightly) 12 – 6.30pm. The Rose & Crown has a smaller bar area at the front(dog friendly areas) and quite an extensive dining areas at the back. It’s a lovely oldie worldly pub with a real fire, great draft beer and a warm welcome. The food is delicious, and the £12 two courses is as good as you would receive if you paid twice that at a 4 star restaurant. Yes, it really is that good. There’s another Peaches pub in the local area(Leamington Spa) so I hope to score a hat trick in the near future and visit there too. Well, with such a friendly welcome and amazing quality and service, it would be really rude not to!

ZOMG I was DYING for some good, nutritious, «real» food yesterday. A steady diet of pub food(basically fried carbs with cheese and more oil) has made me feel so gross. They had a seafood paella on special so I ordered that. It was really freaking good! Still fatty as fuck, but there were actual vegetables and protein in it, so I was happy. Service was pretty slow but I wasn’t too bothered by it. The décor is fun — silver paint on some walls, and wallpaper patterned with ostriches(head in the sand). Clean bathrooms with actual paper towels(!!!) and faucets that AREN’T appointed with separate hot & cold spouts. Bam! Oh, and a full bar with an interesting cocktail menu. Yay!

Stayed here, ate here, drank here. I recommend this place. It is a short walk to Warwick castle. Upstairs they have 5 rooms. The topmost room easily fits a family of four. The décor is spartan, like a U.S. motel. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. The price for one night was very reasonable. The rooms are not wheelchair accessible(no elevator), and if you have trouble carrying your suitcase up a flight of stairs, you are forewarned. The bar fills up on a weekday evening with locals. It is a relaxed and friendly place. The evening meal I had here was the best I ate in England. I know, nobody travels to England for the cooking. But this was still the best. The meal involved a duck, and altho not much of the duck was present on the plate, everything was very tasty. Breakfast was good too.

Situated just off the main square in Warwick — food is first-rate. Their menu is seasonal and good value for money. Excellent selections and do a fantastic tapas menu!

After a long train ride from London my party of 4 was absolutely starving! So starving that we couldn’t help, but attack the bread the waitress brought to our table as soon as we were seated at Rose and Crown. Boy, that was good bread. For my meal I ordered the goat cheese sandwich, which came with a tomato, red pepper, and parsnip soup. The soup did the trick of warming me up right away! The goat cheese sandwich was just OK. I never thought I’d say this since I absolutely love goat cheese, but they overdid it on the cheese a bit. I think they used 10 goats to make this one sandwich. Someone else at the table was smart enough to order a side of fries(umm, I mean chips) so I put my sandwich aside and ate those instead. Others at the table munched on ravioli, ceasar salad, and mushroom risotto. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. I also liked that their coffee came with lots of sugar cubes(I ate 3 just on their own!) and smarties(one of my favorite candies). They may not know how to make a goat cheese sandwich at Rose & Crown, but they sure know how to serve a good cup of coffee!

On the corner of the square — easilly the best bar /food in football types in here — drinks are not cheap but the surroundings are very pleasant
