Ever since the local web site went AWOL I‘ve tried to keep pace with the redevelopment of this once sleepy area with no changes. Suddenly some of the more established services began to move away, one or two here today, gone tomorrow replacements, went the quick exit, and now some far more enterprising additions have arrived. The Fox & Hounds is now under New Management, and a new Barbers has arrived. The Pharmacy has expanded to next door to the original, and Serendipity has arrived. Hope to get down there soon to greet them.

We spent new years here with some friend and it was a night not to forget. The food was great and the owners joined us for a few drink which shows the personal touch.

Quick glance: + good selection of modern pub grub + car park available + big portion sizes + small beer garden available — booking recommended, especially for Sunday lunch — mediocre«foxy ladies» waiting staff I’ve been to this pub quite a few times for Sunday lunches, and their portion size and quality of food never disappoint. The fresh and delicious sides which comes with the Sunday roast are part of the attractions too. I highly recommend the baked camembert as a starter to share, as it is stuffed and baked with garlic and rosemary. Naughty but nice. The pub celebrated its 1st birthday under new management in September 2010, and the quality of food is consistent. While the staff was attentive, they seem forgetful at times even when the restaurant wasn’t packed(for example, forgetting to bring us a refill of water), but perhaps that is more a reflection of the restaurant’s /staff’s youth. Overall, if you are in the Epsom /Epsom racecourse area, this is a nice pub to spend the afternoon with good food and decently priced drinks.
