Cock Inn

The cock inn has had a complete revamp and after my wife running the nearby bluebell 10k we reserved a table for Sunday lunch.
Which was a good start– what an amazing pub! All the tables were reserved when we arrived so a good tip for Sunday.
Food was good to excellent — they had an amazing suckling pig (slices of) for two. Portions generous. When we realised we’d ordered one dish incorrectly they swiftly replaced it even though the kitchen was busy.
A traditional menu, though none the worse for that. Highlight was a sticky toffee pudding.
If ever I’m down this way again I’ll be back.

Has reopened recently.

We went to the Cock Inn with a groupon voucher for an evening of jazz. I must say we were both extremely impressed with the service, the standard of food and with the ambience/​décor of the place. It’s a real find and I would recommend the place to anyone who fancies a country pub with good food. It’s more a restaurant than a pub. One other thing is that we have found in the past that groupon is a disappointing experience where businesses see you as a 2^nd class customer and not as providing a loss leader to get your repeat custom. Weird if you ask me why companies waste money offering a reduced price then treat you like dirt. This was NOT our experience at the Cock Inn and we look forward to returning.
