Darts and football kinda kin. Great happy hour beer prices and Queen music on the jukebox is always a winner. Good selection of real ales on tap and lots of screens showing football

Loads of beers to be had here, in this modern pub where the red walls are covered with pictures of things that are considered cool(Sid James, Blues Brothers, etc) The dodgy name Corpse Nailer was enough to make my decision easier when it came to selecting a beer. I went to sit and sup and tried to avoid a conversation with some drunken bearded chap who wanted to tell me about a 12.5pc beer that tastes like jet fuel. While this conversation was unwelcome, it paradoxically indicates that I had found my kind of pub!

Really not my sort of pub but it does attract a diverse clientele. I don’t like multiple television screens and music but I do like the variety and quality of beer. The staff are knowledgable and friendly and the beer quality varies from good to excellent. Do ask for a formal introduction to Pip.

just had another good night there– the music has always been good quality when ive been in there. Friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere– like the idea of being able to buy the art, which was, last night very good, if not my taste! Great if you can cadge a comfy sofa, not so good when your stuck standing at the bar with ‘man mountain’ blocking your view.

Situated in the town centre this pub has a good atmosphere, the staff are really friendly and the décor is nice. Whether you are looking for a quiet pint or to watch the rugby the salopian offers it all. Personally I like the sofas and the fantastic art work around the place. The beer is always decent and if you’re a fan of foreign lagers then you’ll like this pub. I can’t vouch for the food but I’ve never heard anything bad.

The Salopian Bar has gone from strength to strength winning both the CAMRA, Shrewsbury & West Shropshire Pub of the Year 2008 Award and the county, Shropshire CAMRA Pub of the Year Award 2008. They now have five ales permanently on sale, four Belgium beers on draught, between three and twelve real ciders and perries on draught all year round, as well as holding an annual cider festival in August.
