I love this quaint little place. Its absolutely gorgeous! And has great drinks too!
They have a full stocked bar here, so the choice is really up to you on what to drink. There’s a fireplace to enjoy in the winter as well.
Plenty of televisions to catch a match as well. This is not necessarily the place you’re going to go out with your girls on a rambunctious night. This place is way more laid back. It’s a great place to go with just a few friends if you want to enjoy a drink and have a chat.

The Golden Lion is a beautiful, traditional-​looking pub that is sat right on the corner of Ormskirk’s busy village centre.
Inside, the pub is spacious and well set out and their selection of draught beers and cask ales mean getting a decent pint in there is not difficult at all. Their prices are fairly cheap and the bar staff there are friendly and always quick to serve if you look like you’ve been standing at the bar for a small time.
The pub also has a few plasma TVs littering the walls inside and this, combined with their cheap drinks and good selections, means it is a very good place to watch the match live as there is quite an atmosphere when it gets busier.
Its position very close to Ormskirk train station is also invaluable too as it means you can stay there for a few drinks before hopping on the train to Liverpool on a Friday or Saturday night.

The Golden Lion is stunning. The architecture of the pub has much historical presence. With a lovely atmosphere and pleasant staff, you can’t really go wrong popping in here for a beverage.
With a range of beers, wine and spirits on offer as well as soft drinks. Prices are reasonable so you needn’t expend your purse strings. Entertainment is vast, sport is shown on big screens, and there’s also dominoes, a juke box, and quiz nights on offer.
This is one of my favourite places to go in Ormskirk. It has handy opening hours and doesn’t shut until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays so you can pre-​drink here before a night-​out if you so wish.
Great service and a lovely pub.
