Good local pub. The bar is a bit weird — the traditional features have been left so you have to lean under an old wood bean to order a beer, but this just adds to the charm. Great beer. Haven’t ordered any food yet.

This is a quite the charming little pub. They have plenty of beer choices but even better, is their food. The kitchen staff does a bangup job of getting the orders out fast and fresh. The meals are well filling as well. If you don’t want a whole meal they have plenty of snacks and crisps to eat too. The outdoor patio is incredibly nice to enjoy a pint in the evening and watch the town settle down. Theres also plenty of televisions to catch a match on and lots of different rooms if you’re not into the rowdy sports crowd. Definitely a must stop in on an afternoon or even early morning!

Before I start, I’m going to tell you now that I’m going to refer to this pub solely as ‘The Buck’, mostly because I’m not even sure how to properly pronounce ‘I’Th Vine’. Not that I’ll be saying it aloud, but as I type it I’m sure I’ll be saying it in my head. The Buck itself is a lovely, traditional-looking pub in the heart of Ormskirk’s town centre, sat in between two rows of busy shops. From the outside, The Buck has a great old-fashioned feel to it and inside it looks like a proper ‘old man’ pub(which I love in pubs, personally). The beer available there is very nice and affordable as well as quite varied and the food, whilst basic, is decent enough if you fancy having something with your pint. Alternatively, there is a chippy just across the way for after last orders on your journey home. The staff in The Buck are friendly and attentive, ensuring you aren’t waiting too long at the bar and the outdoor area at the front of the pub can be very pleasant if the weather manages to hold out whilst you there, enabling you to watch the world go by(and pass comment on people, if you’re that way inclined).

The Buck is a pretty pub situated near Ormskirk’s main shopping area. With hanging baskets and seats outside it looks welcoming on a summer’s day as well as in winter. It’s famous amongst students as it offers affordable prices. The Buck has all average pub entertainment, a small food menu and snacks available. The quiz often causes a funny yet enjoyable atmosphere with easier questions then your average rock-hard pub competition. The staff are friendly and efficient even when there’s a queue. The toilets are always nice and clean. Definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through Ormskirk.
