There was a time when I viewed never having been in a Waitrose as a badge of honour. I viewed it as an upper class refuge of people with more money than sense — why pay much more for the same food? Well I’m glad I finally gave in(or sold out/became a traitor to my class) as I’m quite happy to pay a little more for better quality and I believe that’s what Waitrose offers. I still don’t do my full shop at Waitrose but I probably buy about half of my stuff from here now. I love the free coffee you get whilst shopping and I always pick up a free newspaper too. It’s these small things that keep me coming back as well as the genuine deals that are regularly on offer.

I love this store. Always has great ready meals. You can shop smart here and not have to spend a lot. Good quality items. Clean, bright, and well organized store.

Happy 2 year birthday, Waitrose Newton Mearns(I’m a bit late!). I’ve been shopping here since it opened and I nearly know the shop better than my own home. Things which are great: — The scanner things so you can scan, pack and pay without having to put it all out on a conveyor belt. This works best if you do it as a team of two. — Ordering online for delivery/collection. Whenever we go on holidays, we schedule a home delivery for a few hours after we get home which is just perfect. Be sure to leave a note in the delivery notes to let them know as sometimes they’ll try to phone you and you might still be in the air. We also order a Christmas ham here — one time they didn’t have the right ham so upgraded it for us. Win. — Café in store. Granted, I actually don’t visit it very often but if I’m here I’ll sometimes grab something here for lunch to take home(fresher than the in-store sandwiches). — Free newspaper with your shopping. We get the papers every Sat & Sunday so this is ideal. — Fresh produce is always of a really high standard, lasts beyond its used-by date and they have a good range. It’s pretty rare that I can’t find what I’m looking for — sometimes on the weekend they’re sold out of coriander. — It’s small yet has a great selection. I’m going to say the range is better than Tesco at Silverburn which is about 4 times the size. I like being able to do a weekly shop at Waitrose in less than half an hour. My only tips would be to try to avoid doing a full shop here on the weekend as it gets really busy. Sure, it’s more spendy than other supermarkets but I’ve never been let down by the quality of the food so that doesn’t bother me too much.

This review is primarily for their grocery delivery service. Over the past 5 years I have taken advantage of delivery service from various grocery retailers(Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA… you name it,
