I thought Home Bargains was more of a novelty shop than it actually is, so you can imagine I was a little disappointed when I walked in and saw a shop which was like a cleaner version of Asda(well, it is brand new). I mean, sure they sell lots of stuff. I just didn’t really see that many things that I’d class as a bargain, like you get when you visit Poundland or other shops like that. I also didn’t find anything totally bizarre and obscure that I just had to buy right then, so after two aisles I ditched my basket at the checkout as I’d given up on finding anything I’d be interested in. They sell a lot more food than I realised though, so perhaps they’re trying to compete with the wee Tesco on the other side of the shopping estate(I don’t think Waitrose would be worried about losing customers to Home Bargains). It’s a really big shop and has a lot of variety, although the range is pretty random so I’m not sure I’d go here on a whim hoping I could find what I’d need.
