The Lanherne is tucked right out of the way, near the boating lake, and I’d be surprised if any tourists found it, to be honest. I’m not saying that’s a selling point, but it could be good if you’re looknig for somewhere a little less hectic on a hot August night. It’s really big, with a good menu, and friendly staff. Worth seeking out for a bit more of a chill, probably not for you if you want to have the largest of evenings…

A nice big pub, they had a pub quiz on when we went and its a good laugh. I know they do food and as far as I know thats ok. They have some good beers as well. Its ideal if youre local or staying more inland in Newquay.

This is a well-lit recently renovated bar with a good dining area. The main bar has 2 pool tables and a darts board and hosts both the pool and darts leagues once a week. The service from the barmaids is very good, and the food is above average pub grub and fairly inexpensive. Its on a main road into newquay and gets plenty of passing trade in the summer so its usually quite busy, although like everywhere in town it is dead in the winter months. The owners can be a bit hit-and-miss in their approach to their customers which is a bit off-putting. The music is playing via the flat screen TVs and is generally a fairly good mix of genres. A decent pub that most people will find acceptable for Sunday dinner and a few pints.
