Chy Bar & Kitchen

A bit surprised that this place came so highly recommended. I think it is a bit overated.
It is basically a very modern bar. It does serve one Ale though which I completely missed until we were leaving (Tribute), and Rattler (which I went for) is better than any of the familiar keg ciders in London.
On the Hen + Stag route. One of each in attendance quite early in the afternoon. The girls had made a real effort with their army attire, easily beating the traditional nicknames on the backs of t-​shirts of the boys.

We went here for a lunch treat before heading home after our hol’s. Having been before to the restaurant up-​stairs a year ago & had all you can eat ribs, which was really delicious. Well on this occasion the up-​stairs was closed so had to sit in the night club area. The food we received was nice & well presented if a little expensive for what I’m about to explain.
The night club bar on the ground floor which is used during the day to serve food is disgustingly filthy, if you sit on the low seating & blocks of wood as tables you can smell the stale beer wafting up from the brown floor boards & as we were sat in a corner area, I’m sure I got the whiff of urine to, all I needed was the smell of stale tobacco to transport me back to pre smoking days in a pub/​club. So on that note, I would suggest if you want a nice meal, use the upstairs to eat (nice views up their to). If you want to get pickled & abuse the place then down stairs it is.
On a positive note, the staff where very friendly, service was good & we where well looked after. If it wasn’t raining at the time we would have sat on the balcony & not have noticed.
So come on Chy Bar clean up the mosh Pitt to improve the day time experience.

This is situated above the beach and views are stunning and décor is rich. Staff there are brilliant. I go to this pub when im starting out on pub crawl at night time and a great place to meet new friends and of cause the locals.

Blimey, I feel minging all of a sudden. Everyone in here is gorgeous. Fit, tanned and healthy looking, they are all an advert for the outdoor life. And that’s just the staff!
Probably THE place to be seen in Newquay, this is also where the hoi polloi hang out — I even saw that bloke off ‘My Family’ and the BT ads in here — get me, rubbing shoulders with the stars…
It is good fun though — the ladies loos are worth a visit for the goss alone. I know you can’t go in there, boys but there’s still plenty for you to be looking at!
Open late, with groovy DJ’s playing hip sounds, this bar joins the Koola next door to expand the space in the evenings. There’s also a restaurant upstairs but, let’s face it, you probably aren’t here to eat.
And, FYI — groovy and hip are still legitimate words, not a revealing expose of my age. Alright???

the chy bar is a bit yuppyish but they do have stunning views of the sea. it is a good pub but not a great pub. i prefere more traditional pubs but on a hot summers day such as today its a good place toi sit outside and eat/​drink

Chy Bar is one of my favourite bars in Newquay.
The interior decoration is very good and the location makes it an excellent place to start a night out.
There is also quite a lot of seating outside and on a sunny day it’s a great place to go for a few beers and with a good view of the sea.
The food is very good especially the burgers — the Chys Burger is well worth trying and is good value considering the size of the portions. The drinks prices are about average and they have a good selection of beers, wines and spirits.

Thechy bar and kitchen is a pub come night club and a very expensive place to eat out. It has pizza and pastas and tradional foods like fish and chips. The reason people come here is for the lovely unbeatable views over towan beach. This top quality food is worthy of the prices. the food is cooked fresh to order so may take a while but make the most of the surroundings. we ate here 2007 in the summer it was hard to find a table but were lucky in the end. I was told at night it will be full of younger people but glad we enjoyed the daytime atmosphere. we are going back to newquay this year and will go back.

Chy bar is apparently ‘THE PLACE’ to go out in Newquay so we decided to head down and give it a try! We qued for awhile then paid £8 to get in so I was a little grumpy before getting insidethe place was packed, literally overflowing with teenagers, I picture it like one of those indian trains with people on the roof and flowing out the windows! thats how I see it in my head though its probably a small over-​exaggeration! Anyways being 25 I felt like an ancient relic in this place, after a difficult squeeze through the sweaty crowd I managed to find a table and settled down for a drink, I knew I’d need a few to get through that night! The music was terrible and drowned out any chance of conversation! I guess im just a quiet pub kinda guy and Chy bar reminds me why!

Loved this bar when i came here last. Lovely large windows that looks onto the sea, great bar and the dj’s usually play a good mix of dance and pop tunes. Leads onto sailors club i believe. Good place to start your night off in newquay.
