Recent update of the cocktail list — which is still missing the classics, they’ve got all the booze to make them, just not the willingness. Outback is for smokers! Food & wine list are good and staff really friendly. Not enough seating in bar area when its busy, but always lots of seats in the empty eating area when the bar is busy… Budget £25−35 per person for lunch with wine, book a long time in advance if you want the chefs table and increase your budget too for evening meals. No real competition in Newbury for the Newbury.

This is probably the best pub in the area — really good food (Especially the scotch eggs), great surroundings and excellent staff.
It does get busy at weekends, so get there early.
