Rump N Ribs

Finally checked out this place with a friend after months of talking about it and never getting around to it. Menu has a good few options, and the salmon and lamb chops also called out to us, but we felt we ought to live up to the restaurants name ;) Steak totally lived up to expectations — meat was delicious and was quick out the kitchen.
Only issue we had was the waitress who felt the need to rush us out the door once we’d finished. For some reason, despite it being a Monday night and only about a third full, the waitress felt the need to hover around us and pick up each plate as and when it was completed… Annoying enough to knock off a star. Otherwise, would totally go back!

Can’t leave zero stars. Really bad service and terrible behaviour. Arrived on time, our reservation hadn’t been kept. Saw another party arrive, order and receive their food before we got a chance to order. Food took ages to arrive, my friends’ steaks weren’t as we asked but they were to hungry to complain and delay eating any longer. Right after we’d finished eating and were thinking about a cup of tea, the manager comes and asks if we would please leave as the next party had arrived! We left livid. We actually went back to tell the manager that we thought this behaviour was poor and he basically wasn’t interested.
Not been back since.

Nothing bad to say, food never disappoints, friendliest manager. This is my tenth time and they’re always consistent. Love love love

Went for a last minute lunch here with a colleague, after seeing their sandwich board offering £7.95 lunch specials.
Wish I hadn’t…Average overpriced food, no atmosphere, with lousy unresponsive service. I ordered a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it steak tortilla wrap (did they leave half of it it in the kitchen?) and I even remarked to the waitress that it wouldn’t fill me up. She said… nothing…wow. Came with a few chips but at £7.95 I expect a full meal. Could have gone to Wetherspoon’s opposite and had a bigger meal for less. The steak was also very spicy with chillies and it was almost too much. I wish restaurants would ask the customers about levels of spiciness, but sadly it was not to be here and my eyes were watering by the time I got back to work. I did order a tap water (it’s halal so no booze in this restaurant) and was annoyed to find they had ‘accidentally’ charged me £1.50 for it on the bill.
After the tiny portion fit for a child, sorting out the mistake on the bill, I ended up buying crisps and a big bag of haribot sweets, before going back to work. An unpleasant stressful experience I won’t be repeating.

Abysmal service from the manager, if I weren’t there with friends I should have left without hesitation. I do not expect to be rushed to order something before the entire party has arrived and the staff got so confused all I received of my meal was a side salad. Even on a busy night I do not expect to be treated so poorly, especially at those prices. I heard the food was good, I may return to try it, but not in any hurry…

Went here on a busy Friday night with our son as he was sleepy and we needed somewhere close. We arrived and found we were greeted by the cheerful and very friendly manager. He immediately made a big fuss of our son and made sure we were seated immediately.
Once seated we realised this restaurant does not serve alcohol, although as we were out with our son it would have only been one or two drinks anyway so no big deal. They do however serve a great range of non-​alcoholic cocktails, both my partner and son had two and they had nothing but great things to say.
We ordered ribs for starters, amazing flavour and cooked to perfection! There was no children’s menu so we got some extra sides for our son, my partner got fillet steak and I got the t-​bone steak. When it arrived we realised the portions are massive! But wow did it taste good, peppercorn sauce was spot on (they do a range of sauces if you fancy something different) and the sides were cooked really well. Vegetables were nice and crunchy and the mash was really creamy. We ordered the chips which were massive and have to be the best chips I’ve ever had!
After the main the manager asked the server to bring our son over some ice cream with some sauce and sprinkles. He didn’t need to do this but it was a lovely touch! I had desert (I must have been really hungry this night) it was a chocolate fudge cake and again it was gorgeous.
Really enjoyed every course and the service was spot on. Not intrusive but we were always seen to if we needed anything. We ended up paying £78 (£90 with a tip) which was great value considering most of that was for the ribs and the steak. I would have rated this 4 stars for not having a children’s menu and not serving alcohol, however the service was so amazing, it more than made up for it so I’m gonna say it’s 5 stars! A reflection on just what a great place this is, would recommend this to any meat lover! I’ll definitely be going back =)
