I would like to update my review, after now visiting the salon a few times since my first review. The service and standards continue to be consistent with the high praise I first gave. The salon has a friendly feel, with all the staff members helpful and welcoming. Patrick continues to be impressive, with clear talent as well as enthusiasm for learning and trying new techniques. I would recommend this salon to all my friends without reservation(and do!) It is really a shame that due to the way Unilocal has calculated their reviews down. The reviews that are listed as ‘recommended’ are not my experience of the place at all. If you take a look at the ‘unrecommended’ section: you will see that they have several 5* reviews, which have gone uncounted due to the reviewers not being regular Unilocalers. I strongly believe this business should not be penalized by their reviewers’ regularity on Unilocal, and have informed Unilocal management of this! If you have any doubts about this business, I would recommend you visit other review websites without this clear bias, such as mylocalsalon…

Had such high hopes but let down bitterly. Unfortunately even the most expensive hair stylists in this place are lacking the basics in hairdressing … Listening to the customer. He did completely not what I asked for, hair is now ruined, and have to find another salon and try get some trust back. Such a shame.

Awful, awful salon. Without writing a blog(because I could there were that many faults!) the stylists are inconsistent with the level of service they offer — sometimes they give you a treatment sometimes they don’t — depends on the stylist you get even though it’s ‘salon policy to give that treatment when getting your hair coloured’ i.e. previous colourist hadn’t given me a full service but charged me for one. They’ll say they’re coming to wash your hair in ‘2 minutes’ yet 20 minutes later you’re asking what’s going on — apparently they decided to leave the colour on for longer but failed to tell you that. They say that you’re getting your colour done by a stylist but actually even though they might say they’ve passed their colour exams and have a senior stylist ‘overlooking’ the service the reality isn’t so true. After sitting in the chair for 2 hours I still had visible grey hair. To make up the service a week later they then used a darker colour. I would not recommend this place at all — they’re not consistent with ‘salon’ policy and they try to add ‘treatments’ in to your service without telling you and then trying to charge you after. Con artists.

Hate this place. The hairdressers are false and are incompetent at cutting hair. I had a woman called Saskia do my hair for me once and she fucked my hair up by unevenly cutting my hair. The left part of my hair was longer than my right and the difference in length was quite significant. I had to wear my hair up for ages because it looked that bad. AVOID this place if you value your hair!

This is one of the best hairdressing salons I have been to and unlike others where there is 1 good stylist and you are lucky to get them you have a choice of many here. From the moment you walk in you are made to feel welcome and valued. Proof if ever it was needed that great levels of service do still exist.

Cards on the table — you get a perfectly okay standard of haircut at Terence Paul, it just doesn’t isn’t really worth the price you end up paying. It’s pretty standard salon stuff once you’re inside — parquet floor, leather backed chairs, mirrors(obviously, I suppose). This is Toni & Guy lite; it looks a lot like it and you’re treated with about the same level of grudging courtesy(your choice of coffee or tea, served just close enough to you for the cup to get filled with hair through the course of your cut) but your hair will end up looking about two thirds as good. Not that I’m suggesting you go to Toni & Guy(and if I were to suggest anywhere it’d be the mighty Mufti) but if you are going to spend money in this sort of price range(for guys between £21 for a wet cut and £35 for a restyle, for girls a minimum of £24 going up to £45 for a restyle and more for colouring) then you probably want to come out looking a bit better than I have managed from here before(although, as the very cruel might argue, I’m so far gone no haircut will bring me back).
