I can understand why people would grab a chocolate bar from Sainsbury’s, a bouquet of flowers from M&S and a card from Cards Galore whilst waiting for a train in Piccadilly Station. But would anyone really leave party dress shopping to the last minute? I guess the answer to this question is no, as there is rarely anyone shopping in this Monsoon. During the January sales last year I picked up a couple of really good bargains here including a black silk top for £5 reduced from £25 and a casual blue long sleeved top for a tenner, which I still wear really often. Aside from my year 11 prom dress, I think these items are the only things I’ve ever bought in Monsoon. The clothes are really good quality and there’s usually at least a couple of items in the store which catch my eye, but they are usually out of my price range. The range isn’t as wide as in the Monsoon in the city centre, but if you want to browse without the crowds and have the changing rooms to yourself, then I’d recommend a visit to Piccadilly’s Monsoon, especially during the sales.

With daily weather warnings of gale force wind and never ending rain you would think any self respecting fashion outlet would have a strong selection of knitwear, wouldn’t you? Alas, Monsoon’s store at Piccadilly Station is stocked with a colourful array of tunic tops, smocks, cocktail dresses and party outfits. I like a good party as much as the next gal but when I’m walking through a cold and drafty train station, the only thing I’m tempted to buy is a big, woolly jumper or long, cableknit cardigan. Sadly, all they they had in was frumpy cardigans, a couple of thin jumpers and the essential winter warmer, boleros!
