This is the kind of brunch place that I really miss. It reminds me of being in Chicago — a menu with drink options from green smoothies to Bloody Marys, and creative cuisine of both the healthy and«comfort food» persuasion. We didn’t struggle to get seated at noon on a Sunday, though nearly every table was full. It is a bit noisy in there, just filled up with trendy twenty-and-thirty somethings, and the servers are rushing around you. While it isn’t perhaps a place to sit and relax quietly on a weekend, you will get a great brunch that will surely cure your hangover. We shared a green smoothie which was very nice and creamy, no doubt from the avocado. Loved the mango flavor. Then we got bubble and squeak, and a potato-chorizo-egg scramble. Both were great — loved the spicy chorizo which went so well with the black beans alongside. The eggs were very delicate and fluffy, which I often find isn’t the case in restaurants. The bubble and squeak was great too — poached eggs and a big cake made of potatoes, mushrooms, and various other veggies. Neither portion was enormous(we had a mid-day snack later) but I loved not feeling too full and gross afterwards. We don’t come to Hampstead often, but I’d eat here again anytime we were in the area!

Went here to try the fish and wow was I pleased with what they served. I had the classic battered haddock but it came with a twist of potato cooked in soy sauce and spinach on the side. It was delicious! The fish was perfect and potato tasted so well on the tongue. My boyfriend had the fish special of the day and the fish was seasoned so perfectly with Indian spices and it came with cooked beetroot on the side which was also wonderful. Book your place before you come in because the place is not so big and dinner is surely always busy here.

Nice ambience, great food. We had the eggs west hampstead and the bubble and squeak. Both dishes were really nice. Will definitely come back. Minor downside, it took slightly longer than expected to get the food, but then again, it is better to have slow good food than rushed mediocre one.

I used to come here regularly when I worked in the area, and their lunch time meal deals and cappuccinos were the highlight of my days. They do a variety of really tasty, fresh food and the best coffee I have ever had. I also love the cosy atmosphere and art on the walls. Sometimes they have evenings on where you can listen to live music while eating, which I keep meaning to attend! Definitely West Hampstead’s finest café :-)

It feels slightly partisan but we still had some room. The service is always friendly. I just came here for a little snack of muesli and fruit. This was well served but appeared to be quite minimal. The fruit wasn’t the tastiest and was limited to apples mainly. The yoghurt was also not the tastiest, although maybe it was meant to be plain. Although appears to be q favourite for more breakfast menus, this restaurant never quite ticks all my boxes.

Good coffee, however the food is hit and miss. I’ve been going here for 5 years and am afraid that the consistance is off the mark. Also, the menu never changes much which is a shame.

Good buzzy atmosphere, and the place definitely has character. Got the breakfast salad and it was tasty, well cooked eggs and flavourful dressing, but it wasn’t quite what I expected based on the menu description, which my friends also found with their meals. Overall decent food and friendly service, but overpriced compared to other options around.

One word for this place — solid! No downs but no real ups either. Good brunch selection and«post hangover» food. Atmosphere is trendy-local, young and crowded(but the friendly staff always found us a table)

We visited the Wet Fish Café for Saturday brunch. The table ordered the following: * potato, chorizo and egg scramble — The chorizo had a great, spicy flavour that infused the eggs. The eggs themselves were expertly cooked, meaning that it hit the balance of being fully cooked without being nuked and dried. The toast and potatoes were both nice; although, I think one or the other would be enough starch for me. I can’t opine on the refried beans as the person who ordered this dish requested NOBEANS. One observation, they do not appear to be refried. * scrambled eggs w home-cured gravadlax, avocado, cream cheese & toast — Again the eggs were perfectly cooked. I believe chives were mixed into the eggs which was a nice addition. Not sure what the cured gravadlax(my first ever) was supposed to taste like, but it tasted like a mixture of lox, sashimi and ceviche — not a bad mixture if you ask me! * Americano — only available in one(smallish) size * Flat white — only available in one(smallish) size Highly recommend for the cool, laid back neighbourhood café vibe and simple, well executed food. Also, given the quality and service, the meal was a good value. All in, we left for £24.

Lovely little place — it was comfortable and cozy and had great service! Went for brunch — I enjoyed my scramble with chorizo and potatoes. We went right when they opened and beat the rush!

I did like the place, the atmosphere and the food. Good service(very nice) I ordered the«hungover cure»(scramble eggs w/chorizo, potatoes, black beans, salad + bloody Mary + coffe. Everithing was OK except the bloody Mary(if you like it, try it though, I’m not a big fan of it but I wanted to try it). Next time I will try something sweet like French toast. Spanish speakers: es un lugar agradable en West Hampstead. Lo recomiendo si vivis cerca de West End Lane. El rango de precios varía entre £8 y £16. Si no os convence el bloody mary, no os lo recomiendo, si estais con resaca es una bomba!

The Wet Fish Café is a place for idealists. I mean this in the most positive way, as this place strives for more than just a place where you can eat something. You get great food by people who love food. The atmosphere is nice and you isnatntly see and feel that this place isn’t a generic business but a restaurant run by real people with a love for what they do. Anthing that you eat in here deserves a 5star rating. Truly one of the best places in West Hampstead.

Brunch heaven, this place is. Visited with three other friends at 10 am on a rainy Saturday morning, and each of us got something different. The original plan was to share, but I think everyone enjoyed their own plates so much that no actual sharing took place. All the dishes looked very good, and the smoothies are a must try. I got the potato, chorizo, and eggs scramble — and though it didn’t look like a healthy portion when the food came out, it was very filling and very good — just the right amount. I would highly recommended it. Another thing I would recommend is to come early(as close to open as possible). When we got there, the place had maybe 3 – 4 tables full. By 10:45 am, there were was a queue of people and baby strollers. I can see why this place would get busy — great food at good prices in a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back — maybe I’ll see you if you come in at the open on Saturdays.

I came in for brunch and was very impressed with this little café. It still has some remnants of its past as an old fishmongers and it’s very charming and cozy. I got the hangover special, which is a lovely Bloody Mary, a coffee and a chorizo and potato scramble for £16. Just the perfect thing to start the day. Breakfast is served late and there looked to be many other things I would like to try. I can’t wait to go back!

They were very friendly. They gave me a fresh ginger tea with lemon. Delicious. One of the best teas I’ve ever had and I got an amazing vegetarian meal there. So yummy! Staff is super friendly and relaxed.

We didn’t have to wait on a Saturday which is a huge plus. The menu was no frills, but well executed. The food quality was above average, and a mixture between british/american choices. I enjoyed my breakfast, but wish it has a bit more panache. If possible I would have given this place 3.5 stars. That being said, I would definitely stop back here someday. The hot cocoa is good according to my friend. :3

The Wet Fish café has some of the best hot chocolate I’ve encountered in my travels. Sadly, it also has some of the least responsive staff I’ve bumped into. They’re not rude, just fashionably aloof. Luckily carefully turned out daily lunch special for 6 pounds, inviting leather seats and power outlets for working lunches and fresh avacado smoothies keep me coming back, week after week.
