*SPOILERALERT* Something ATROCIOUS has happened at the Waterfront… they’ve painted it blue! A garish blue, at that! Why?! Apart from all that, it’s a great bar and restaurant located on the corner of Streatham Common and Greyhound Lane. Now in my opinion, the most important thing worth noting about the Waterfront is that they sell Frulli beer and Apple Cinnamon Rekorderlig during the winter. That is all. Might as well just stop here. But because I’m nice like that, I shall continue. Specialising in pizzas that could give Pizza Express and Zizzi’s a run for their money, their calzone in particular goes down a treat. There’s a wonderful selection of cocktails, for which I particularly appreciate two things: 1) Two for one cocktails daily from 6pm — 8pm 2) Their hand picked«Fruity» section. No more having to scour the menu for an hour trying to appear as I know about cocktails, when all I want to do is ask for anything that tastes like Ribena It’s not too busy — I can only assume it’s because it’s quite a walk from the nearest stations(Streatham Common or Streatham). Or, at the risk of sounding like a hipster, I suspect not many people know about it, yet. One thing worth pointing out is that they seem to have changed their management. The staff used to be quite rude but, since going there recently, I haven’t had any issues *touch wood.* Also, I would recommend either bringing cash or, if you’re with a large group, taking turns to buy rounds, as their prices are quite reasonable but their card minimum is £10. Tip: Go on a Monday, where you can grab two pizzas and a bottle of wine for just £25. Great for a bite on a budget.

Easily the nicest place in Streatham, good value, friendly service and none of that air of menace that tends to hang around other pubs in the area. The 2 for 1 cocktail deal is definitely worth looking into as well.

Pizza’s great. 2 for 1 cocktails every day 6pm to 8pm great. Bar staff the worst in the whole of London. This is no joke they are rude, agressive, unfriendly and ruin this venue. Definitely give it a miss, until the owners sort this out.

I saw England beat Ecuador in the 2006 World Cup at this pub. It is by no means the nearest pub to my house that shows the football, but it is the most comfortable. Most Streatham boozers combine an air of menace, with, well, an air of BO. The smoking ban has helped The Waterfront’s transition from Streatham’s best pub to a genuinely pleasant place to have a drink. All those people in Clapham who think that they will be murdered if they visit Streatham should check out The Waterfront. It overlooks Streatham Common, it has good quality pizza, and even the outdoor smoking area is agreeable. Streatham’s best boozer bar none.

The Waterfront gets extra points just because it’s so great to have a gastro-pub in Streatham. It’s got a nice atmosphere and it a handy spot to watch the football. Nice lighting, should you ever want to go on a date there. Nice location, just opposite the common and near to the station. The best bit is they do yummy pizzas, with things like palma ham and artichokes in(which is positively upscale for Streatham!). They also deliver — handy if you can’t be bothered to cook and live nearby. There is also a delux smoking area at the back for recidivist smokers.

The food is good and the atmosphere is relaxed. I used to live in Streatham Hill and would come here from time to time. It was also the place to bring people who felt wary of visiting the areas cos you could take them for a walk in the nearby Rookery afterwards. Great pizzas and they had jazz every so often(might still). It’s an easy place to kill time in, unlike some other Streatham pubs which feel edgy.

Having moved to Streatham Common almost 18 months ago now I found the Railway pub which has been a fantastic local. I have not really strayed to far from it. But was up at Sainsbury’s last week and decided to pop in here for a drink. Great location as its on the corner of Greyhound lane and the High Street. It has undergone a refurbishment in recent times and looks more upmarket than I think it previously was. All the regular beers are there on tap with some ales. The food looked pretty good and they have a number of themed nights. I only had two beers but the clientele looked happy and not intimidating at all. I will definitely go back.
