An excellent small bike shop.
This place has exactly what you want from a bike shop: knowledgable, enthusiastic staff who are happy to educate but do so without being patronising. They seem to want to go out of their way to help you save money when visiting and have resolved small bike problems for free when I’ve popped in. Their servicing work is excellent and they won’t try to oversell services or products like some larger chains tend to.
We’ve been using these guys for the last few years and never hesitate to recommend them and haven’t had a disappointed friend yet.

My new local bike shop is very handily located a stone’s through from my new abode. However, I would make a much longer journey to avail myself of their expertise. No bookings are taken for bike services (which suits my slightly disorganised approach to life). Instead, you rock up with your bike on spec and agree upon the level of service needed.
The results are also spot on — my wife commented that her bike felt ‘as good as new’ — and the staff are really friendly. Support your local bike shop and give it some TLC here rather than throw your money to Evans or one of the other big chains!
