Incredible service, brilliant atmosphere… Awful food! We went for two Sunday roasts and I’m not sure what we got but we had to send it back.

This place is an utter joke. Went to eat, drink and watch Man Utd on the box a few weeks ago and the food me and my mates ordered never arrived. After 60 minutes of waiting, Big Dave threw a right wobbly and demanded a refund which he got. Waitress told us the order never made it to the kitchen. Judging by others comments, Big Dave isn’t the only one this has happened to. Considering its about £15 a meal NEVERAGAIN.

What have they done to a pub, that was the nearest thing I had to a local 7 – 8 years ago? The whole place has been modernised in the worst way! At the back there are more TVs in a small space than I have seen outside a sports bar or electronics store. What I simply could not believe though was that at the front there was happening a children’s party… We got some mulled wine and hid outside in the cold!

Oh, I used to live a few doors down from this pub and spent manys an eve there enjoying a few beers! Nice & relaxing. They have a small balcony area too. It’s location is very close to the C. Common st. Friendly, local, laid back pub. Recommend if you are in the area.

Well, I was extremely disappointed as the location is listed as having pool/snookers tables and I’ve lost half an hour traveling to this pub but there are no pool tables. I think is qyipe’s fault and I think I’m gonna uninstall it, the pub looked alright but nothing special.

I’d have to agree with tink1980. It was not a good experience for me either. The refurbished place deffo looks great but the service is really poor. We came in for a few drinks, waited to be seated as per the big sign and were told off by a very unfriendly chap because we were standing in the alley(in front of the sign to be precise). Then we were forced to open a tab before even ordering. When asked ‘what if I didn’t have my 1000 card today?’, the answer was ‘company policy’. A few weeks back, we were asked for our IDs and refused entrytrust me, my friends and I look nothing like 18unfortunately. Not a place I’ll go back to. Instead of investing ££ in re-designing the place, they should spend money on customer service training!

A refreshing haven in the chaos of Clapham, the frog is an ‘All Purpose’ sort of venue. Plenty of lounging areas for the locals and sports screens as mentioned by other reviewers, and then by about 10ish the lights dim, the music goes up and it sort of turns into a club. Nothing too hectic, nothing too pumping, not too much dancing, all a bit neutral. Somehow though, it works. This I think is driven by the crowd. Seems to attract a fair number of(quite attractive) locals and crowd control is managed by two door staff at the front. Full but not rammed means bar service is acceptable, a very limited cocktail menu but these are still lethal enough by all accounts, and they also host a very lovely jaegermaster girl who does th 1000 e rounds in good spirits. Nothing exceptional about this place but an overall balanced score on all counts gives it a steady 4 stars! Enjoy! x

I’ve been here for hangover breakfast and rugby night, both equally ace times. The eggs benedict is absolutely amazing, and their bloody marys aren’t too shabby. For a sport night, definitely book a table ahead of time to ensure you get a seat, and there are tons of screens all around for prime viewing. Service here is fantastic, the fish n chips went great with a few pints, and the DJ post-game was a great way to start the night out. The Frog is a fab go-to.

Spacious but cosy, friendly staff, good location I like this pub. It may be nothing special but it feels like a place you can easily go and lounge around. I hear the food is pretty good and will let you know when I make it there for Sunday roast. I went last night with Du Hy to just have a drink, catch up(albeit I’ve seen her almost every day this week…), and just celebrate me being done with exams. The staff were friendly with welcoming smiles, drinks were made quickly and quite well done, and no one said anything when we spent the next couple hours chatting and sprawled out over the couches. I like a pub where you can put your feet up on the table and watch the Naked Gun. Golden. More to come after my next visit but I recommend giving this place a try for some chill nights during the week. It’s right on the common so very easy to get to!

So the Frog & Forget Me Not, has been taken over by new owners and refurbished into a posh-esque bar/lounge and renamed, wait for it… the Frog. Wow creative minds abound! I have to say the interior is a vast improvement from the run down run of a mill pub dump it was, but I’m not a fan of how popular this has become now with what I can only describe in New York speak as the«bridge and tunnel» crowd. They play the music way too loud for a place that doesn’t even have a dance floor, I’m sure a fact their residential neighbours are just tickled pink by, and their new food menu is definitely a pass. My partner got a hamburger, simple enough, hard to mess up right? Well they managed, seriously I don’t know what meat they use but it tasted so off I asked if they used pastrami meat. Yuck. I got a smoked salmon risotto, which in itself wasn’t bad accept for the fact that it came with some mystery white fish and not a drop of smoked salmon in sight! Seriously? fail. Their large 1st floor terrace is still lovely so I’ll probably pop in randomly for a drink here and there when the weather is nice but otherwise with the plethora of like-minded bar/lounges in Clapham these days, with much better food menus and their stereo turned up only to a not wake the dead level, this«new 1000 «frog is a croak.

this place is Clapham’s best kept secret for all the major sporting events. it is really close to the common and is a great venue with big screens and a roof terrace. i think they used to serve Thai food but now they do great English food — the sandwiches are huge, the roasts are delish and a brunch always clears away the cobwebs of the night before.

A cute little pub in Clapham Old town that serves Thai food. Ok, so it’s little rough around the area and the décor doesn’t look like it’s been changed for the last thirty years, but it has a great reputation with locals and I’ve always experienced a pleasant atmosphere in here. The best thing about the place is the great roof terrace that they have; perfect for a summers evening. They have a pretty decent jukebox too.

I once heard someone describe this as a «love it or hate it» kind of place, which seems strange for such an uninspiring venue. Whilst I don’t hate it, I am at a loss to know why anyone would love it. It is an unremarkable pub, and a charmless one at that. However, I have spent a few evenings here when the other options are too full and it’s been OK. The music is random and often too loud, but if space is what you’re after then you’ll likely find some. I don’t think it’s a place you’d ever choose to go too though, unless perhaps you’re being ironic. Thai food is available too.

This is a pub I go to about once a month after playing football on Clapham Common. Personally I’m actually a bit of a fan; it has a really good atmosphere, beer selection and Thai food. A few years ago it used to be ridiculously popular but now it has quietened down a bit which for me is only a good thing — for example, it was very comfortable for watch the rugby internationals, crowds but not suffocation. This and The Sun are the two best pubs in the area, both serving a different need.

The Frog is a relaxed pub near Clapham Old Town that attracts a mismatched crowd of Clapham locals venturing to explore the Old Town, and part-of-the-furniture regulars. Slightly down at heel, the mismatched chairs and tables gives this pub a fun, quirky feel and in summer the outside deck is perfect for soaking in the rays. The pub does a great quiz night, and the food(Thai) is value for money.

I’m not sure why this place has such a high rating, I’ve been here to play pool and watch football. It’s good in the summer, but it’s in need of a facelift, all I really remember from the place was student-types lazying around on dirty sofas huddling around cheap beers and tap water. The screens are difficult to see, wouldn’t recommend watching any sport here.

Last time i popped in here they still had the Bar Billiards table, which is great fun if you’re with someone that understands the rules! Also, as mentioned by the other reviewers, the roof terrace is great too, and you can look out over Clapham Common when the sun is shining. We have borrowed board games there before on lazy Sundays(Jenga, i think) and the Sunday roast was always pretty good too. Add to that a normal pool table and a TV with the sport, and most would be happy!

The frog and forget me not is not bad, but it’s not great. has a definite grunge/student vibe to it. I wouldn’t choose it as a place just to go and drink as it is a bit past it. However, one excellent reason to go is the quiz night on a Tuesday. It is really good fun. It gets completely packed — and people reserve seats, so you will need to get there — or at least send in a scout at around 6.45 if there is a group of you. There is no limit to the amount of people you can have in your team which means very large groups of people with perculiar specialist subjects between them usually win, however, all is not lost as the big money is in the raffle/pick a box comp at the end which accumulates as the weeks go on. I actually saw a girl win a grand — well worth the quid on the raffle ticket, eh?

This, in my opinion, is the place to go in Clapham for summer drinking and eating. The best-kept secret in Clapham old town is the roof t 1000 errace in this place, which is plant-lined and an amazing sun-trap. With a great selection of beers and a really good fist at thai cuisine, the frog is well worth a visit if you’re lazing on the common and fancy cooling down.

Billiard. Big Screen TV und Quizveranstaltungen lassen nie Langeweile aufkommen. Bus– und U-Bahn Station sind gleich nebenbei.
