Cheap hotel bar in the hotel district of London. I was underwhelmed by this bar though. It looks a bit worn, but not in a way that might inspire nostalgia. The fact that the asthmatic hand dryer in the toilets and the radiator/window combination that somehow allowed you to be hot and cold were the main points of interest show demonstrate that there wasn’t much to captivate here. At least they do do real ale and it doesn’t cost the world.

1930’s characterised the Tav Bar seems quiet bare compared to the other bars. Panelled in wood instead of the many picture frames that usually adorn such walls. Buttoned leathered sofas take up a sizeable sitting arrangement and the rest is a high table and stool sitting. Out with a friend we noticed the place attracted an elderly crowd which seemed a bit serious, but with the tv screen and christmasy songs going on all was ignored. For a change the music was not too loud, so it was pleasant to chat and enjoy ourselves without external pressure.
