Quick service. Great spot in Islington. A fair amount of seating. Only one power outlet

Hmm. This Starbucks location is probably the worst location of the three in the area. I popped in at around 3pm on a Friday and the place was a disaster — tables were full of rubbish, the floor was full of litter, chairs/stools were everywhere, and there were strollers/prams/push chairs a plenty. No thanks to the latter. I’m not in Chiswick. I don’t need to deal with strollers and babies. In addition to the place being a total and utter disaster, service was slow, and there was a woman holding her dog near the«pick-up» counter. I’m a dog owner. I have no issues with dogs being in coffee shops but I do have a problem when someone is holding their dog in the vicinity where food is being prepared. Dogs are not babies. They do not need to be held. Put the dog down! To sum it up, I think I’ll stick to Church of Starbucks ’round the corner.

This is my favourite Starbucks and the staff are great and so is the coffee… and it’s open late when you least expect it… my only complaint is the SCREAMINGCHILDREN when this occurs and climbing over everything dribbling on seats… and disrespecftul parents moving the furniture around them and over others to make it all into a family crèche … and then sitting there staring rudely at those more civilised souls who are there to simply sit and have coffee, chat, go on their laptops, etc…. there’s no room for kids without causing a nuisance and I think this chain should seriously re-consider whether they are a civilised coffee shop for adults or a family friendly kids-orientated establishment — the two are different ANIMALS!

Laura, I’ll join you. Three tips about this Starbucks: 1) It is open later than most Starbucks in London. 2) It has good, powerful A/C for those hotter days when Church of Starbucks down the street is too warm. 3) Ok, that’s only two, never mind. Almond Soy Latte = yum.

The best thing I can say about this branch is that the staff have no qualms about us freelancer-types using it as an office — all day, if necessary. That’s pretty good of them, and is the reason I’m grudgingly giving them three stars. I’ve frequently done a day’s work here on one tall latte and a muffin. However the service itself can be hit-and-miss, and I’ve been short-changed here in the past. I’m surprised to see people saying the staff as ‘rude’ though, as they have always been friendly to me, if a little rushed off their feet. Customers tend also to be a little on the sniffy side, with a palpable us-v-them turf war between yummy mummies and business-types. However, due to the ample size of the shop the atmospheres far less tense than the decidedly claustrophobic branch up in Highbury corner, where I’ve felt sure actual fights could break out — takeaway only from now on.

A small branch even by Starbucks standards, and, as others have said, rather lacking in atmosphere — to which I would add ‘cramped and stuffy’. It felt rather airless to me, and sitting on the pavement breathing in the morning rush-hour traffic fumes was not really a viable alternative. I just had a straightforward coffee, which was OK, and I found out that you could have a free top-up if you bought the smallest one(so why would anyone buy a larger one?). The staff member who served me was cheery enough, though, so that has redeemed it with an extra star.

yeah, yeah, yeah, Laura’s writing a review of Starbucks. You officially have the next 5 seconds to internally mock me. … (…3 …2 …1) Here’s the deal. This location holds a special spot in my heart because I had just moved London I was craving a little slice of home. I needed to walk into the same bland colour scheme, smell the same mediocre coffee smell, see the same tired checkerboard tables(who uses those things anyway?) and order a double tall, non-fat, no foam latte and be understood upon first order. And I did. And it was. And it forever will be. Now I’m totally cool saying«I’d like a small skinny, flat, wet latte,» finding local gems, supporting better causes, hanging with the shoreditch twats and saying things like alum-MIN-ium, but in that moment, during that day, at that hour, I just needed a piece of home. Not that it’s better, it’s just home.

Not impressed with this branch. They just faff about for ages. How long does it take to make coffee? They stand aorund, just chatting and don’t seem to even notice that people are waiting. I never stay in a Starbuck’s, I just want a caffeine fix and that’s it. But really, if they can’t sort this out, I’m going to go somewhere else. The service is usually OK in Starbucks, and they do a yummy latte, but not from this branch. I’ve already made the mistake twice. I hear there’s a branch up the road, and one in the bookshop on Liverpool Road. I’ll try those next time.

Oh yeah have you tried their free christmas sampler ginger sucro-syrup coffee — i needed to wash my mouth out with doggie doo! Seriously though, this like most starbucks is average with wafer-thin atmosphere. You have to ask why do people bother –but before you ask me — i had a business meeting which someone else organised. OK?!

I have been in many starbucks and this was the worst. I visited as they had their new christmas drinks out, first they asked if we wanted it in paper cups as they had no china ones left, no alternative was offered so we accepted. We told them we were staying in to drink it but they still put plastic lids on making the cream blend into the coffee and it looked nothing like the advert! Finally found two seats left which were all cramped together like all the tables, other customers were now getting their drinks in a china cup. The drinks(dark cherry mocha and toffee nut latte) were disgusting and tasted, according to OH, like diralyte! Over £5 for 2 awful drinks in paper cups! I went to use the loo which was dirty and stunk, stay away from this starbucks is my advice.
