For my 100th review I choose to speak on Square pie, any place that gives me nostalgic memories of school dinners derserve my all time praise. I ordered the clasic pie(minced onion) with mash and gravy, this was a meal and came up to £7:50. Its a shame a drink was not added in that meal price but hey. They put their food in a square box, so I get up on the stool and eat at the counter and tuck in. The mash, WoW! Square pie say they steam and mash their potatoes here everyday I can tell, it thick and smooth but not stogey at all, and i like the way they put poato skins in the mash, I thought this is different, I like! all that might not be to everyone taste. Beans and gravey amazing! Man the pie was sooo on point from the crust to the mince and onion truly delicious. They also serve other great British classics like jacket poatoes, pasties, apple crumble etc. Seriouly if anything can beat the tast of this pie, I will give this review 4 stars instead of five. I will defiantly be back. :))

N. B: This place has recently closed down. The pies are delicious. Near perfect. They come, if you want, in a sort of package deal which includes onion gravy, two generous scoops of delicious mash and the choice between peas or baked beans for about £7.50. You have to eat it out of a cardboard box with high sides which can be quite awkward and the ketchup is obtained from a sort of self-service pump. But it all tastes so good I’ll forgive them anything. This particular branch is at the side of Selfridges Food Hall and it gets very busy which adds to the fun. You sit on high stools at the various counters. You can sit at the window watching people get off the bus or at the other counter and watch people rushing around the food hall. You’ll probably do neither as you’ll be too preoccupied eating your delicious pie. I always have the Chicken & Mushroom, but a friend had the Lamb With Rosemary and said it was lovely. Visitors to England should especially give this a try as it’s English food at its yummy comforting best. I once tried the fish pie and it was disappointing, but in fact I find most fish pies disappointing unless I’m making them myself. So, stick to the pastry pies and you won’t be sorry. This place is extremely popular and it deserves to be. The ingredients are obviously top quality and the portions are generous.
