Easy to find. Directions where on the email sent confirming reservation«the directions of how to find Le Chalet which is accessible exclusively from the express elevator which can be found opposite Chanel in Fragrance on the ground floor of Selfridge’s». Le Chalet is a lovely little restaurant that has a relaxed vibe to it and cosy. Each chair has a blanket placed on lt although I did feel slightly cold(I was sat by the window) I did not feel the need for the blanket the place has upheaters and I could feel the heat coming from those. Service is good however the food took a while to arrive… The food its self was nothing to «wow» about overpriced for quality and quantity you get(i would give the food 3 stars).

My friend and I finally made it to this place after he had read about Le Chalet back in December, when it had first opened and it was nearly impossible to get a booking at a decent time! Now that it’s been around for a few months and it is not Christmas season, it appears to be much more chill. The restaurant is at the top of Selfridges, in this space I didn’t even know they had. It was beautifully decorated with an entryway of fairy lights, skis on the wall, a fireplace inside, and blankets on all the chairs. The blankets are necessary — we sat by the«window,» which is really a plastic pane hanging down so there is not much insulation! There isn’t much of a view at night — I didn’t see a way to go outside, from my seat I only saw the barrier outside and a crane in the distance. It was not that crowded on a Tuesday, with the restaurant less than half full. The menu was interesting — I expected mountain classics like fondue or raclette, but it was really just an odd assortment of the usual(a steak, a burger, sea bream, sea bass) and some things I didn’t recognize. For a starter, I got the truffled chicken and mushroom soup, and for my main I settled on a short rib that was a special. For drinks they have a number of interesting cocktails, many of them featuring chocolate, but that’s not really my thing so I just went for a glass of wine. The soup was amazing… I appreciate all things with truffle, so long as there is an ample helping of truffle. My friend got the pumpkin hummus, which is definitely interesting and came with a variety of diced vegetables on top of the hummus, and it was really a mountain of hummus(it had to go unfinished). My main was equally delicious, as I had two large bones of short rib and the meat literally fell off the bones. It was served with parsnip mash, which is also new to me and went very well with the meat. Unfortunately, this too had to go unfinished, as it was an extremely large serving of food. My friend got the staub roasted chicken — what a sight! It is a small baby chicken mounted on a pole that sticks out of staub dish, and you have to just kinda cut meat off of it. I don’t have the patience to eat baby birds that come bone and all(i.e. baby partridge and baby pheasant as well) but it was such a cool dish! For dessert, we got the blood orange snow egg and the chocolate fruit and nut. I had a bite of each but couldn’t finish much more food at this point. The snow egg comes in a brandy shell with a light creamy egg dessert inside, which I thought almost had the consistency of ice cream. The blood orange is in the form of a slush outside the shell. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the creamy + bitter blood orange combination, but it was plated beautifully. The chocolate fruit and nut was an elegant arrangement of ice cream, chocolate, and a dried fruit bar type thing. It is very good if you love chocolate for dessert. Overall, I was impressed by the quality of the food, well done Q Grill!

My friend and I went here for a pre-Christmas catch up. The food was very nice, although maybe slightly over priced for what you get. The wine was tasty but the best thing are the hot choc-tails! The place is decorated like a ski chalet(as the name suggests) which works great with the warming cocktails. They have a bar area if you just wanted to drinks which is good, they even have an outside section with blankets if you can brave the cold.

It’s difficult to get to the restaurant from the store due to poor signage, unless you come directly in from the main entrance on Oxford. The staff at the restaurant was very sweet and worked hard to make good on a relatively unpleasant dining experience. The winter theme is barely executed in décor or on the menu. The space is cramped. The food was fine(a 3⁄5) but at those prices I would expect much better. I had the pork, which was a poor cut of meat and served with cold crackling.

I took 20 minutes just to get into the restaurant. Not because there was a queue but because of poor signage and poorly trained staff. I was at the 4th floor when a friend told me to come up. I asked a staff member how and they simply said to take the lift. We’ll. I waited for 10 mins at the lift lobby but no lifts came, and so I went down to the 3rd floor to try my luck, but still nothing. In the end I went back all the way to ground and found the so called«express» lift. There was a staff member inside and I politely told him of my ordeal and that they need better signage. All he said was that it’s meant to be «exclusive» and«it was included in the email». Well! There were signs for this exclusive place on all the floors, except lifts weren’t coming, and frankly the place isn’t thaat exclusive, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The drinks itself were not too bad, nothing too special, and views were not really of anything

Wanted a special place to meet an old friend for dinner and we decided to try Le Chalet by Q. There is an «express lift» trough Selfridges fragrance department that was not express and we both chuckle seeing the attendants letting shoppers, who weren’t going to the restaurant, in and out on every floor. Great idea in theory. The decoration is beautiful. You do feel like you are in a swanky Alps resort. The toilets some of the worse I ve seen in a long time. The service ok. Although there were menu items that neither us nor our waiter knew what they were. Food was very tasty and big portions. Best Sort Rib I ve had in years! Cocktails just ok. Most of the other guests had their coats taken either on arrival by the hosts or at the table. We didn’t. It got uncomfortably loud after 7. I wasn’t made to feel special, something I expect paying these sort of prices and although the view was nice I feel some small touches can make this place amazing. Sort those toilets out and try to offer professional, consistent service and I ll be back. If you offer a service,(coats, express lift) offer it to all guests, otherwise it is very unpleasant. Le Chalet is always full, or so I heard, so clearly people don’t really care about the small things.
