Came here for happy hour, and as promised, there were cheap drinks and a nice vibe. Lots of people on a Thursday night, but not too crowded — my friend and I were able to find a place to sit. We first had Long Island Iced Teas which were pretty good, but had a bit too much non-alcohol in them. Then I had the house bourbon with coke, and the amount of alcohol was pretty minimal unfortunately. However it was only 2.50 so you can’t really complain too much. All in all it was a cool place — we left around 10 and people were starting to dance; on that note, the music was fantastic, a mix of old and new and many of my favorite songs were played.

Used to be a regular. Never going back. Come here if you want to dance, but if you’re a group of girls, expect to be harassed. Some gross European literally came up and BITMYNECK while I was ordering a drink. The bartender, who went out on a few dates with my best friend and absolutely knows who I am, just laughed. Didn’t help. Promotes a disgusting culture. It sucks when a fun night gets corrupted by scrubs. But hey, the happy hour deals, amiright?!

Cool bar, I dig the sega genesis downstairs and the teapots of gin and tonic you can get. The upstairs gets a little too packed but that’s the cost of it being crackin’

It’s so exciting to find a place that just ticks all the boxes and seemingly without trying too hard … cosy living room style décor … excellent music(we came and went early, so the sounds came from someone’s player, but I spotted vinyl decks which is always a bonus) … cocktails served in teapost(optional) … great mix of people … happiness inducing happy hour — two cocktails for £10, the mojitos were awesome and we managed to squeeze in two rounds before 9pm. What’s not to love?!

Love everything about this bar, except one thing — the toilets. Every time I go there’s always a pool of water in the ladies in the cubicles and general not great to visit them. Enough about the toilets, what is good, I ask?! So many things. The staff are super friendly and chatty, with good bants. The cocktail menu is to die for, so many quirky and interesting options. My personal favourite is the jamble, which is a bramble with a twist — jam — and served up in a teacup. It’s pure deliciousness and I could happily drink loads of these. Price wise, happy hour is 4 – 9 and two cocktails for £10, which for the quality and it being in kings cross is bargaintastic!!! The venue is quirky with a disco ball, neon sign and old school desks for tables. It feels like it should be in shoreditch, but damn I’m glad it’s in kings cross, my total go to place for a cocktail. The music is also really catchy and there’s a dj from Thursdays till the weekend!

Simmons is famous around Kings Cross for being a quirky little spot to grab a teapot full of cocktails. + Truly it has a top-notch Happy Hour(2 for £10 cocktails, £15 teapots, etc), and you can easily keep costs down before 8pm. — That said, the actual cocktails are not remotely impressive, and not very alcoholic. Sorry it’s just the truth fans! — Décor is quirky but woe betide you if you get there after the post-work crowd, as it’s a small venue upstairs(20 odd seats) and a downstairs area that is regularly full for groups. — Music frequently too loud to hear yourself, or anyone else, talk. Bottom Line: honestly Be At One across the road is bigger and does more cocktails for happy hour. If you can’t get a seat, just walk across the road. Decide for yourselves & let me know.

Great happy hour(from 5pm-9pm) which includes the rather dangerous teapots full of long island iced tea for £15. Love the giant disco skull which slowly rotates and watches over the main bar area.

This is the first pub I’ve loved in London. The DJs play great music, the happy hours are great and they have supercute teapot cocktails — try the strawberry cheesecake it’s amazing. The only issue is that I went one Saturday night and there were two hen parties happening so there wasn’t much room on the dance floor, but that couldn’t be helped. Still always a great time!

Really friendly bar tenders, so much nicer than certain places who seem to exclusively employ staff to make you feel stupid for not being as hipster as they are(ahem Shoreditch) Cheap cocktail prices for central London — at happy hour you can get two for £10, and they are really good! I plan to be back here a lot.

Disclaimer: I didn’t stay longer than 1 minute and didn’t try their drinks. Called ahead to book a table here. Staff lovely. Table turned out to be two stools by a handrail and the speaker. Cool vibe in here but wanted to be able to hear my friend, so we left! Interior q. sparse and homesy. Can see the pull. Music was fun. Prob would return here if I was looking for a really low-key night out, where the focus was on drinking rather than talking. Def worth a try but not my cup of tea.

I like you, Simmons. Your bartenders are friendly, your décor is funky, and your drinks are strong. Your music is a wee bit loud, even for a Camden bar, and you sometimes fill up with the spillover of Koko I’ve-got-my-daddy’s-visa-and-am-going-to-be-LOWD chicks with a little too much maxi to fit in their minis. But hey, that’s lower Camden on a Friday night, innit? Good happy hour, too.

A small bar with a dj spinning good-times and throwback tunes. It was just nicely crowded, with room to breath and dance, plus plenty of chairs and stools for when your dancing feet need a break. I checked in on Unilocal to get a free shot – but ended up re-gifting to a friend who was willing to drink the well tequila. Service was OK. The only attitude I got was when I got the free shot. Drinks were expensive, so we ran up a tab that was painfully high, even for a night of binge drinking.

The bartender is very friendly! He gave my friend a free shot of tequila for her bday :) the cocktail teapot is good for 3 people. I’d say there’s about three drinks in the teapot. You can play video games downstairs! I like the music it’s old school but it’s fun. The whole atmosphere of the place is old school in general actually. Sex on the beach was SOOO good

Stopped in here to get a quick drink before heading home after dinner out. It’s a funky little bar, think alcoholic grandma as a décor style. There’s a big disco skull hanging from the ceiling, old fashioned lamps on the shelves and built in bookcases stacked with empty beer cans. The menu is fun, interesting names of cocktails with amusing descriptions, it’s not too long either which is good(LAB Bar does something similar but I don’t need a cocktail menu which is 20 odd pages…). They also offer coffee pots, cocktails served in old fashioned coffee pots that will serve a couple of people — think their alternative to a jug of margaritas. Prices are good and the drinks are strong, we only stayed for one as it was a school night. King’s Cross still isn’t a place I’d visit often on a night out but it’s good to have a couple of options for when I do, it’s been added to my list along with T.E.D. and Camino.

Going to Simmons was totally an accident. I was meeting a friend for drinks before dinner, and we were going to hit up a nearby pub, but unfortunately the pub hadn’t opened yet. So I got a text telling me to meet her at Simmons. So they have a great weekday happy hour consisting of two for £10 cocktails. So we tried a selection. And they were all fairly tasty. So that was pretty awesome. The bartender was friendly(and cute), and it turns out that I got a free shot for checking in on Unilocal so I totally took advantage of that. The decorations are eclectic. A bunch of lamps? Okay. And some wooden tables. I’m definitely a fan and will recommend going here to others. It did start filling up quickly though, so I imagine it gets quite busy!

This a lovely quirky little bar. It is a little bit like drinking in someone’s living room but I really like that. This place is pretty small and it can get quite packed. It’s never claustrophobic though. The worst thing is trying to queue for the bar when it is really busy. It is quite narrow and they only had a couple of people serving but they do have good cocktails and a decent happy hour which runs from 5pm to 9pm every night including Fridays. During this time is really good value with a single shot and mixer, a small glass or wine or a beer for just £2.50 and all cocktails are two for one. There is a nice happy atmosphere here and it is definitely a place I will visit again.

Simmons is like drinking in your mother’s house. If your mother was awesome and had a bar and a floating disco bar skeleton hanging from the ceiling(which for all I know, she could!) This is a kitch, retro homey type place. The decorations feel like home — wooden tables, kitchen stools, purple walls, lots and lots of books and table lamps. There’s also a downstairs area known as Nana’s basement with more odd chairs, table lamps and retro video games. Did I play Sonic the Hedgehog last night while drinking a cocktail? You bet I did. The drinks are fun. Your normal range of beers and spirits but they also do teapot mixers of things like G&T(ea) and French Mar-tea-ni(get it.) Basically it’s a cocktial served in a teapot with tea cups for £15. Grand all around. They also do comedy on Tuesday nights in the basement, but be warned… it’s free and anyone can sign up, so it can be amazing or awful. It actually seemed like more of a training grounds for new comedians to test their stuff. The first half, there was an audience and I was still picked on for having my phone out. The second half, it was me, my friend, and only comedians in the room… so I was REALLY singled out. Be ready before coming in. Loved it, wish they had this bar here when I was living closer. Either way, I’m sold.

I am a fan of Simmons and it’s quirky style but recently it’s style has changed. It used to be an establishment where you felt like you were drinking in someones front room with lots of kitsch memorabilia around. There is still some of that but they have blocked off the kitchen and sprussed it up a bit that there is now a proper bar, the retro video games are no longer there and it is just different. It is still a nice place to go for a cocktail though, especially one served in a tea cup. Not too expensive but more than some. Now you can take a seat at an old school desk and have a beverage and still enjoy but with a little more nostalgia if you were a fan previously! I have used their basement room for a party and recommend it for a small and dark gathering, the room now has a front door! Anyway, recommended but has changed! xyz

I hesitate to even post a review of this place because I liked it so much and I don’t want it to be overrun by horribleness. I must have walked past it a million times while in Kings X and never even knew it was a bar. There is a happy hour(£2.50 for drinks — bottles of beer, house wine, and cheap mixers from 5 to 9pm M-F) which makes me like a place almost immediately. I can forgive a lot when cheap booze is involved. People appear to book tables on Friday evenings, and the basement was closed for a private function so we didn’t get to explore that. But it’s very cozy and the staff is great. If there had been more people standing, it would have been too hot and crowded to be bearable. Fortunately, we seemed like the only people who didn’t realize you should book space ahead of time, so we just crammed ourselves into a corner until one of the reserved tables didn’t show up. I’ll definitely be back.

I was invited to a private knees up at Simmons. OK, if you must know, we all chipped in and hired a mystery celebrity for the night. It was awesome and the creators of this night should really TM’ed it before word gets out. This tiny bijou pub/bar was awesome. From the skull disco ball to the animal print wall paper, the ex– school desk, the mega drive downstairs; it is a bar that could be construe as trying«too hard to be cool». However, the lovely stars behind the bar made it work and were super friendly(even when I brandished my Unilocal app at them and demanded the free shot that came with my check in -«that’s like super old, but whatever, you want a shot of vodka?») I would totally recommend hiring it for a private party. It’s small enough that if not that many people turned up, you won’t feel like you are a loser and the gigantic picture window makes you feel like you are on set for a 21st century’s «Bright Young Things»(The fun part).
