The menu at Rabbit was almost identical to the Shed. Although the farm source is the same, I was hoping there would be some variations. That aside, the quality and taste of food is definitely comparable — most of them fresh and creative. There are less(fake?) dead animals on the wall here and in general, a cleaner feel. Perhaps its because its appealing to the Chelsea crowd. Through the open kitchen, you can see how much care the chefs put into each plate. The space is not very big but there are a lot more seating in the back. The restaurant was pretty heavily staffed on a weekday night — make a reservation if you want a bigger table with comfier seats. It was actually a bit noisy there the whole night and the tables are very close together, perhaps not the most romantic place for a date.

I’m not a fan of Cheslea, but I can get behind this place. Great vibe – nice atmosphere. Barn-like shabby chic with a hip feel. Dishes were inventive – most were hits, like the kohlrabi dish, some were misses, like their signature rabbit pasta. Definitely sold us on a round of cocktails to kick us off. Waitstaff was a bit aloof which was frustrating. But overall, a great place for some interesting small plates.

If there is tapas made anywhere in London, it’s likely you’ll find me somewhere around some time soon. So after visiting one of the most fantastic exhibitions of the year, we went down to the woods and stumbled upon Rabbit on the way. Opened by three brothers who grew up on a farm in Sussex, the small restaurant makes for the most charming rural spot right in the middle of Chelsea(oh, the irony!). Put simply, the food at Rabbit is simple, sophisticated and just right. Everything good food should be.

My bf booked Rabbit for a late lunch birthday treat on a Saturday. On arrival we were surprised to see it wasn’t packed however there were quite a few people and it had a good buzz. Décor was really nice and our seats were comfy but there were some tables with metal stools which I could see could be uncomfy for a whole meal. The whole concept is about local produce and sharing dishes. Advised about 2⁄3 plates each for lunch. We decided to share everything and I think in the end ordered 6 plates along with a few mouthfuls. To start with bf ordered a local Sussex beer(Sussex Gold which was delicious) and I had the cocktail of the day(rhubarb rumble which was also yum). We also ordered a few mouthfuls — both ordering the rabbit rillette and bf ordering marmite éclair. Both delicious and nice to nibble on before we had the main food. Now these really are mouthfuls so don’t expect anything else but at only £1.50 a pop they are a definite must. The food comes out as it is ready but we had it in a good order and also never had too much on our table. First came their warm baked bread with butter and broadbean hummus dip, which was so refreshing with a hint of mint in it. Next we had the asparagus salad which I didn’t expect to be cold(not sure why) but was so delicious with the quails yolk and truffle butter. Next came the warm dishes. We ordered pigs cheek(2 pieces), lamb chips which are more like deep fried lamb with a lovely tomato sauce & mushroom and truffle ravioli which was probably my fav. All were incredible! No complaints. Also ordered a carafe of their house white, which was nice but averagely priced By then we were very full however had to have pudding as it was a birthday! We shared again and on waitresses recommendation went for the treacle tart and viennetta parfait. Bf preferred TT however I was so impressed with the viennetta which as the waitress said looks can be deceiving as it looked quite boring and plain but was so creamy with salted caramel running through it — Mmmm! Would definitely come again Friendly and helpful staff and great ambience

Rabbit is a sister restaurant of The Shed in Notting Hill with its Rustic interior and homely vibe. It is well-priced serving very tasty dishes of all sizes with daily cocktail and food specials. The menu is constantly evolving as all the food is sourced from their countryside farm, as is the wine. The small bites are particularly yummy and well priced, I had one of each. The Rabbit Ravioli was also excellent. Great to share everything as it’s tapas-style, plus you won’t be able to decide on just one dish.

To start with, I had incredible food here. And coming from a snotty NYer that has eaten damn AMAZING food in NY for cheap, that says a lot. This place is not cheap but it not that expensive for London standards. I came around 4pm last Saturday and there were a number of seats. I like the setup– timber, down-home country theme, interesting furnishings(the lower half of a fox’s body, for example, sticking out of a wall plaque). So I got the bite to start: a beetroot crisp, with goat’s cheese, pear jam and chickweed, for 1.50 quid. I was very surprised when I got it, as it is literally, one swallow. No exaggeration. One tiny chip topped with a dollop of white stuff. But my gosh, that swallow. The rich goat cheese flavor balanced nicely with the crispiness of the chip. Next was the cauliflower, wet walnuts, ground elder and pickled rapeseeds for 7.50 quid. Holy. hell. .gosh. This was the killer. I never thought cauliflower could taste so amazing. So many mouth flavors: smoky, crunchy, a tad of sweetness. I actually dropped my fork and closed my eyes at one point, bc yes, it deserved that. The next dish was not quite as phenomenal but still delicious: shaved Brussels sprouts, hazelnut, cheddar and apple salad for 6.50 quid. The rich combination of cheddar and hazelnut balanced incredibly well with the Brussels sprouts. I got the cocktail of the day. Forgot the name, but had chase gin, damson, pineapple weed on the rim, lemon and soda. I wasn’t a giant fan of the weed but the drink itself was pleasantly sweet and served in a very cool glass boot that looked like a Christmas stocking. The service was OK– better than the average with the chef? staff? coming over to explain some of the dishes, which I appreciated. But nobody checked to see how my meal was, whether I wanted any refills, etc. Hence, minus a star for that.
