Must-see for all Czechs visiting London. Cozy bar in trendy Shoreditch. Lots of Czech beers on offer(I bet you won’t know all the brands even if you’re Czech!), also some Czech-style snacks like Marinated Cheese — «nakládaný hermelín». Nice friendly athmosphere.

Love the £8 for 2 cocktails/clittails special! Tried the lychee martini, cucumber and mint martini, and gingerbread cocktail. All were nice. There are some really interesting blends on the list. Not made too strong, so you’ll definitely want another. Didn’t have any food. Relaxed atmosphere on a Thursday night.

This place was strange. But that’s what you get for randomly sauntering into a bar on a whim. If I was in the mood for what they were selling then maybe it would have been a different story. We were in the neighborhood on the way to some sort of public transportation but wanted one more drink. A huge list of flavored vodkas, of all kinds of varieties. I didn’t clearly see a cocktail menu anywhere and I didn’t feel like asking(didn’t seem like they would be interested in making me a brandy sidecar) so I ended up getting a rum and coke. They have a full range of spirits for those vodka haters tagging along in a group to this place. We sat down at a table, tried to have a chat. It was oddly quiet in there. A couple at a table near the back and some japanese tourists next to us taking pictures with their blue cheese vodka. Wasn’t feeling it. Bartenders seemed nice enough but they also didn’t really try to explain what it was they did there. Try to sell us the gimmick and make us feel welcome. Downed the drink and left. Oh well. (ok so there was no blue cheese vodka but go check out all the others they had for yourself, huge list!)

Last night I wandered down to Bar Sequence for a quiet cocktail(no one is ever in that place) and found that it is no longer open(no one was ever in that place). The space is now Prague Bar and there were other patrons inside. The owners of Prague Bar on Kingsland Road took over the lease in December and offer an interesting list of cocktails(biscuit vodka anyone?). My fig martini was cloyingly sweet and caused me to get a dark Budvar lager next, but I’d try one of their crazy concoctions again. For some reason, the thing that excites me most is the offer of a gherkin for 60 pence. So much better than a bag of crisps.
