The staff here is mostly very rude, there are a few nice and competent people employed here but for the most part I’ve never had less friendly service in an O’Neill’s. I still enjoy it but it has a sort of local feel most of the time, where when you walk in, if they don’t know you, they are quite rude. The food is hit or miss. I believe they hired a chef for the kitchen because the food has been really good for about 6 months or a bit longer, and it’s cheaper and better value than McDonald’s just down the street, for a burger. The food deal’s are great. The 2.99 menu is really pretty well worth the money. The beer is quite a bit less expensive than most of the other pubs around. So overall it’s a nice place to have around but I’m uncomfortable with most of the staff and I have been short changed in there more than once, as have many people I know. So give them the smallest bill you have or you may never see your money back.

If your like the O’Niels chain avoid this place on a Friday or Saturday night. It’s full of under age girls and men who all think their Danny Dyers in training. Doesn’t take much for a fight to kick off and that just between the girls. The only saving grace is the bouncers are fast and brutal, so brutal they look like the just stepped out of Wormwood Scrubs. Having seen them pick on random people in the crowd and also get a little friendly with certain areas of anatomy when padding down the female patrons it’s not a place to go alone. The musics decent enough, prices ok but the the clientele is chavy. During the day time it’s not too bad for a meal or quiet drink. A decent karaōke on a Sunday night, and dancing lessons on some week nights bring a nicer crowd.

Full of idiots. white shirts, black trousers, drunk men trying to shag low intelligence girls in sparkly dresses. Expect fighting outside most weekends. Staff and management don’t have much more intelligence than the punters. Famous in Leytonstone for violent men and women who want sex with drunk idiots. Lots of racists here — so hide your suntan. Pub chain that only counts the profits from serving idiots, slappers and racists. Recommend you avoid unless you like fighting, dim slappers and well. fighting and slappers and you are white.

A late licence is the only thing preventing one star. This place is usually packed so atmosphere is good, but it’s ruined by the fact that it is absolutley filthy inside.

This particular branch of O’neills is not the best I have ever been to. It is quite big and prices are reasonable but it is a bot of a cattle market & not a place you can go for a quiet drink — as the previous reviews say, it can get very very busy and you spend you night squashed against people. The doormen/security can be a bit intimidating but who can blame them really when the place is so busy? There is live music on the weekends which is always very good & the place is always full of student nurses from Whipps Cross hospital which is only a few minutes walk up the road. I agree that pre booking a cab from your own local cab company is a good idea because you dont really want to be waiting around for nearly an hour with a lot of drunk people causing fights nearby. All in all, it is worth going to see the live music but be prepared to get squashed!

Excellent for a good night out, but very, very busy! I agree with the previous reviewer about the cabs, very dodgy.

O’Neills is one of those places that you only think about going to when you’re drunk or under 18. Well that may be a bit harsh — I’ve had many a good night out in O’Neills but it’s downside is that it’s really the only place to go in the surrounding areas if you’re not dressed like a wag or don’t have £80 to spend on drinks and entry fees. O’Neills let pretty much anyone in and that means alot of drunken idiots but saying that I have met alot of friends there over the years! It always gets too busy though — if you want to go and have a dance on the dancefloor do atyour own risk as there is barely any room to move. You get pushed around, drinks are spilt everywhere, there are empty bottles and glasses on the floor(including smashed ones)! On the good side the music is pretty good, they play a little bit of everything and it does get the whole place moving. The dance floor area also has a small stage and a bar but if it’s a bit noisy for you then you can go into the other side of the venue where it’s more like a pub than a club and it also has an outdoor drinking and smoking area with plently of benches and places to sit. The pub area is also rammed with people as is outside and although you get lots of drunken louts in there most people are pretty nice. The pub area is a lot calmer and outside is always busy with people smoking — especially in the summer! The prices are quite good here — not much more than a pub. Most people arrive later on in the evening when they’ve finished at their local pubs and then stay ’til 3am when O’Neills closes. One of the problems when you leave is getting a cab home. You get lots of possibly illegal mini cabs in the car park when you’re leaving — I’ve never taken my chances with them. There is also a cab office by Leytonstone station which is about a 10 minute walk from O’Neills but you can wait up ’til an hour for a cab from there so you are probably better off ringing your own local cab office or if you can pre-order a cab. All in all O’Neills isn’t too bad but it’s a place that only ever comes up as possible place to go after a few drinks!!! I used to love it when I was younger but I’m just starting to grow out of it now.

This is a fantastic place to go on a friday night starts getting very busy about 11.30pm and shuts at 3am £3 to get in after 11pm. Great music to suit everyone. Drinks are not too pricey £3 a bottle of wkd, £3 short. Just fantastic.
