This place has improved immeasurably over the past year. Coffee is now consistently good, and you still get a free chocolate! The store has now had the same staff for some time and all are extremely friendly and smiley, even remembering my usual white americano. I would now happily recommend this place for either a take away coffee, or to sit in and enjoy.

Do you love coffee? I don’t mean instant coffee. The kind that is filtered to perfection. That is what you get here. Oh did I not mentioned, they do not just serve coffee by the way. They specialize in other drinks and chocolate too. I go there once in a while to grab a cup and often get snacks too. Chocolate fondant cake etc. Don’t know all the names, too many to list them all here. This is where my mates at work and I go to get a cup of coffee though we get free coffee at work. As everyone complains, free coffee isn’t good enough. So we end up buying overpriced coffee from a shop that is a mile away from office. That’s life. :D Try out the cardamom spiced mocha! Never thought cardamom would taste good with coffee, until I tried it. Cardamom tea is quite common in India.

Hot chocolates here are fantastic. Ask them for extra hot if you’re taking out. The complimentary Leonidas chocolate will certainly have you coming back for more.

I don’t drink coffee — I drink Hot Chocolate. And OMG, the hot chocolate here is amazing. Made with Belgian chocolate, it really doesn’t get any better. And the free little chocolate is just perfect.

Our previous office location was over in Tower Hill, which reminds me way too much of Baltimore for comfort. Yet an unlikely Bean About Town cart served fantastic coffee made by friendly Italian guys – no pretense, just excellent. Our new office location is smack in the middle of the City – the center, I’d think, of coffee demand in London. It’s also full of those 1%ers, who presumably can and do pay up for a decent coffee. Yet for all of its geographic and socioeconomic advantages, the Bank-L’pool St-Moorgate triangle is a wasteland of Nero, Costa, and Sbux. In an exhaustive, yet jumpy and irritable survey of coffee options by our office’s crack team of caffeine addicts, we lit upon this place. While it lacks authentic Italians, the output is solid(they use Illy espresso, so relatively high end among the major producers), the service is friendly and efficient, and you get a free chocolate with any coffee. While we miss Bean About Town, this is an adequate substitute. Pricing is a bit cheaper than Starbs as well, despite the inclusion of a chocolate. Winner!

This is my local(to work) coffee shop and I love it. They’re always very busy, and obviously have a very large(and loyal) customer base. The coffee is lovely(I’ve lived in Italy so have high standards!), and of course, the free chocolate is a great touch. They also have some very indulgent cakes(and an assortment of pastries) if your shreddies haven’t filled you up!

Gorgeous looking cappuccino, near perfect taste as well, with complimentary Belgian chocolate — for £2! Why would anybody ever consider Starbucks across the street. This is not one of the cafes that have popped up on the London top cafes so far, but they do deserve to be mentioned. They do seem to have some affiliation with Leonidas Belgian chocolates, which might not make them a completely independent café, but nevertheless well worth a visit.

They give you a free chocolate with your coffee. How awesome is that? The coffee is fine– I mean they’re not innovators in the field of espresso-based drinks or anything, but for coffee dullards(I always have one of two things) like me, they do the job. And then they give you some chocolate. Just one piece, but it’s good, That’s perfect. I am always hankering something sweet at lunchtime but just want a taste. So then I don’t end up troughing a whole Kit-Kat. If this credit-crunch takes away my free chocolate…(shake fist)
