TL;DR: Avoid the gyoza! I used to really like Itsu, but a while ago I had sushi in another branch that was soooo bad I couldn’t finish it. That put me off sushi for about a month(which is a big deal for me as I looove sushi!) This time I wanted a snack, but my bad sushi memory wouldn’t allow me to buy sushi, so I decided to try their gyoza instead. Urgh… the gyoza here are just not good. The pastry was sort of hard(maybe it would have been okay hot!?) but it was really bad cold. Luckily the spices they sprinkled over the gyoza hid the taste a bit… but even so it wasn’t a pleasant experience. *sad gyoza face*

Hmmm what to say… A selection of Japanese inspired fast food. Marketed to be low calorie and healthy. Maybe it is. Taste is bland and the prices on par with similar alternatives. Probably not a place I’d revisit.

Standard Western Japanese food. Mainly used as quick stop offs for sushis. It’s not bad, but it’s nothing special. Best thing is the sushi/sashimi boxes for a quick lunch in sun.

Yes it is a chain sushi place and yes it was founded by the people behind Pret but don’t let possible authenticity issues cloud your view – Itsu is really good. The sushi, salads and pots are all ready to go so if you need to get in/out it is not a problem. I popped in before a meeting while in London and we were able to have lunch, without rushing in a limited amount of time. The sushi was fresh and good quality with just the right amount of wasabi in the nigiri. The maki was nice as well. My colleague really liked her salad but as the dressing contained coriander(I’m allergic) I couldn’t try any. On that same note my only complaint would be when asked if one of their noodle pots contained coriander they said they didn’t know and when they went to ask they said the ingredients were not listed! Eeek! EU legislation now means that all major allergens must be called out AND that ingredient lists in general must be available. That said I had a detox miso noodle broth that was really delicious and light but totally filling – I couldn’t eat all my glass noodles. I wish they’d expand up to Glasgow as I feel it is better value and quality than other mass chains and set up for«to go» more so that the conyeor-belt type joints.

I mean… I love Itsu, but the manager had an attitude with me for not handing my stamp collected card over before my transaction. He punched it all in so quickly I didn’t have time! They’re clearly too inundated at lunch times that they have to be constantly in speed mode and dealing with annoying business people.

Yummmm. Had a craving for froyo and this hit the spot. Topped with strawberries, a bit pricy at £3 but very delicious and only 100 calories!

Fresh food being served whether on soups or sushis, friendly staff, and generally rapid service. I’m not a big fan of this place due to the fact it’s really expensive and I’ve found better sushi places out there for the same or even lower prices. Interestingly though, it’s always packed

I was never really a consumer of takeaway sushi before I moved to London, but the price and inconvenience of sushi here has led me to the fridge racks to settle my cravings. The sushi at Itsu is perfectly adequate, and they garnish it with bits of seaweed and carrots, so it makes for a healthy-ish little lunch. The Tuna/Salmon box provides a decent value for money, and bit of variety for 7 quid. I’m not a fan of the soups, but I’m not a soup guy in general, so my opinion may not be worth listening to as far as that goes. The frozen yogurt, however, is very worthwhile. I end up here about 2 or 3 times a week, when my conscience won’t let me shove another burrito down my gullet. It is always enough to satisfy a sushi craving. It doesn’t blow my mind, but I’m happy to have it nearby.

Pretty good lunchtime go to joint. £6-£8 for lunch without drink so not the cheapest option, but it beats Yo Sushi for freshness and authenticity. The core offering are simple sushi rolls and sashimi, a smallish selection. There’s also a range of soups and noodle dishes supplement.

We can say Sushi are good at Itsu… I love the Supreme Salmon! Also very rapid, friendly staff, they serve good soup and noodles that I recommend to try! The only problem is the price, actually it is sushi & you can’t have a cheap price for very good sushi! So it’s a good place for lunch:)

I came here for a quicky froyo fix on a break from class. Just popped in and out, they move fast in there, that’s for sure. Meh, it was ok. It satisfies the craving. I ordered the plain yogurt with no toppings. The flavour is a bit strange, too tart for my liking. The consistency is rather icy. But hey, it was £1.99 for a good sized portion, so i can’t complain. Lets be honest, I’ll be back for more cheap froyo fixes at itsu in the future.

Itsu is a very nice fast«healthy» food when working in regent street. The staff is very friendly and food is verry good there. The only reproach I would do to Itsu is that sushis and lunch boxes are very expensive.

I love their soups! They are the best soup I have never tried. It s very copious, nice tasty and perfect temperature of it. Their sushis are also tasty and fresh. The service is quick and very friendly, they check very often the room and the rabbish bin, toilets are also cleaned. That s a very good place to eat well, healthy!

Just went here for lunch(never been to an Itsu before) and was pleasantly surprised. Thought Itsu was another of those fast-food places with counters of steaming noodles like you get near Tottenham court road, but what greeted me was much, much nicer. The environment was bright and welcoming, the food looked appetising and the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. There were little booth areas available for eat-in and more seating available down stairs(and outside when the weather’s better) and they made it feel much nicer than just a standard grab ‘n’ run place. Obviously this ££ rating is in relation to eateries of a similar ilk; not compared to other general restaurants in London. I paid £7.99 for a large lunch and bottle of sparkling water. I had a ginormous(?) pot of hoisin duck broth with extremely tender duck, it was very warming and filling on a cold winter day. The only gripe was that the staff couldn’t answer with 100% certainty regarding the ingredients(coeliac-friendly or not). I would have expected that they have a chart with all the listed allergens to answer these kind of questions.

Occasionally I’m working near the top end of Regent Street and when lunch comes round recently this has been my favorite place to head for. More than a sandwich and a coffee but so so worth it for the extra fabulous happiness and health which comes with the Omega 3 Salmon Supreme and the Detox Zinger which is my usual choice. It really does make me feel so much better through the afternoon and into the evening! The staff at this branch are lovely — genuinely smiling and friendly. Its my fave lunch for this side of Oxford circus!
